I understand that under our SQL 2008 Enterprise license, we can have multiple instances installed on the same computer under the one license.
However, what about if we were to have different versions installed on the same PC? Does the downgrade rights of SQL 2008 allow me to run an instance of SQL 2008 and an instance of SQL 2005 without having seperate licenses? I read something about being able
to do this for 'a reasonable time'. So does this mean that, if we have no plans to upgrade a particular database to SQL 2008 in the foreseeable future, this is not a reasonable time and so we should need to purchase an additional license for the 2005
Thanks in advance for any help.
