Sorry if this is not the best part of the sql server forums to ask this question, seemed to fit the best.
In the process of looking into reducing the number of physical servers we have along with introducing a SAN to store the VM files. One thing I can't seem to find is a great deal of agreement over is best practice when running SQL as Hyper V guest.
If I was setting up a single physical server for SQL I would have a RAID 1 for the O/S, RAID 1 for logs and RAID10 for the Database, is it recommended to have the same on a SAN. In other words create the 3 RAID arrays on the SAN and pass these through
as 3 seperate disks to the hyper V host, and then create my 3 seperate VHD files on these drives.
