Edit Sql Query for building reports

HTML Editor: Change Edit Panel Background Color

I've created a custom editor from the default AJAX HTMLEditor control to limit the toolbar buttons, etc. But I can't see how to set the background color of the text area in design mode. I'd like to set the background color to something other than white, because with my app most users will want to use white as their text color. White text on a white background is no bueno. The editor has ForeColor and BackColor properties, but these values don't control the text area. I tried creating custom css styles based on Editor.css, but all I end up with is an HTMLEditor without a border. Am I approaching this wrong? Any suggestions?

Content Query Webpart to show edit item link field in SPS2010

I have a Content Query Webpart in SharePoint 2010 that I would like to surface Documents grouped by content type. I wish to show the edit form or view Properties link as part of the fields shown in the results. When the User clicks on this link, it should take him to the edit form or view Properties page for the document.

Any ideas?

Problem implementing Undo/redo functionality in an UML editor

Ok so I will try to make this short.
I am implementing undo/redo functionality in an UML diagram editor. I have objects of classes, all implementing my VisualUMLComponent interface.
I have a class, VisualUMLCollection, implementing ObservableCollection<VisualUMLComponent> to keep track of all objects (classes, interfaces, arrows, comments, abstracts, etc) to draw on my Canvas object. This works fine.

Now to the point.
I try to implement undo/redo, with having each object having a pointer to a PreviousState and NextState of type VisualUMLComponent. As such, when I change an object, I can first Clone() it, and insert it at the proper place in the doubly linked list.
I have made class for the undo/redo functionality. It has two stacks undoStack and redoStack of type Stack<DiagramChange>. DiagramChange class represents changes in the diagram. It can have three types: Add, Remove and Alter, for when adding an object, removing an object, or changing an object respectively.

My problem is with the code below, that I get an ArgumentOutOfRangeException    at System.Windows.Media.VisualCollection.Insert(Int32 index, Visual visual), when I try to .Add an old state object to my VisualUMLCollection:

public
 void

weird behavior in SSMS - backslash (\) displays as (#) in query editor

I'm experiencing some weird behavior in SSMS for SS2008.  When I create a new query and type the backslash (\) key a pound(#) symbol is displayed instead in the query window.  I've never experienced this behavior in SSMS 2005 before.  This is the first time I'm using SSMS 2008.  I work with a few developers who also use SSMS 2008 and they have no idea about this either.  Any idea whaat might be causing this behavior and any idea how I can fix this?  I'm using Windows 7 and the backslash (\) symbol displays as expected in other applications (Notepad, VS2010, etc).

Please help!

	FROM [TestSQL].[Sales].[Orders]
) DerTable

What grid control is used to edit a Query in TFS?

I am currently designing a .Net 3.5 Windows Forms application and I would like to use a grid control similar to the one found when editing a Query in TFS : example here

Does anyone know what control this is and whether it's a standard tool available in Visual Studio? Basically I need a grid control which can host dropdowns and allows you to group rows together.

Any advice much appreciated

Inplace Edit in GridView

In this article I am presenting a different way to look at EditItemTemplate, using which user navigation for editing is reduced and . it looks very different (see screeen shots) then regular implementation of GridView.

Surrogate vs Natural Primary Keys - Data Modeling Mistake 2 of 10

In case you're new to the series I've compiled a list of ten data modeling mistakes that I see over and over that I'm tackling one by one. I'll be speaking about these topics at the upcoming IASA conference in October, so I'm hoping to generate some discussion to at least confirm I have well founded arguments.

The last post in this series Referential Integrity was probably less controversial than this one. After all, who can argue against enforcing referential integrity? But as obvious as surrogate keys may be to some, there is a good deal of diversity of opinion as evidenced by the fact that people continue to not use them.

Edit GridView Individual Cells in ASP.NET

The ASP.NET GridView allows for a row of data to be edited by setting the EditIndex property of the GridView, placing the entire row in edit mode.

You may not want the entire row in edit mode if you are using DropDownList controls for several columns in the EditItemTemplate. If each DropDownList has many options then loading them all at once may result in a sluggish page. Also, if your data structure is more like a 2 dimensional array rather than a set of rows, you may want to edit each cell individually.

Here I will demonstrate how to achieve this and also how to deal with event validation without disabling it.

ASP.Net Gridview Edit Update Cancel Commands

In ASP.Net 2.0, GridView Control also provides the functionality to edit and update the data retrieved from the database using CommandField template. You can cancel the action using Cancel Command of the CommandField. GridView consists of events that can be used to perform the actions like edit, update and cancel upon the Data items displayed in the ASP.Net GridView Data Control.

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.
