Word Automation Issue in Windows Server 2008 Hosting

Hi,

The problem I am posting here is that I was facing nearly 2 weeks around. Any body comes with this stuff please help.

Word Automation in sample ASP.NET(C#) application.

I am using Microsoft.Office.Inetrop.Word Assembly for automation. Here I am reading a XXX.dot template file and fill the contents with dynamic data.

When i am executing my code in localhost:someportnumber the automation is working fine and I could get expected result and when I am hosting in my inetmgr(Windows XP is my OS) it is also working fine.

But the problem is that when I am hosting in my production server(Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition) I am not able to perform automation and results in the following error.

Data: System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternal
Message: Word has encountered a problem.
Source: Microsoft Word

The code gets failed in the following line:

ApplicationClass wordApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.ApplicationClass();

Document wordDoc = wordApp.Documents.Add(ref oTemplate, ref oFalse, ref oMissing, ref oMissing); // Error in this line

I cannot able to proceed further. Can anybody please help me in solving this issue?

Thank you.

With Regards,

Ashok

I'm trying to install SQL 2008, but an error message keeps appearing: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installation has failed. SQL Server 2008 Setup requires .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed.   My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, so already has de .NET Framework 3.5, I turned on/off a lot of times and the same error occurs! I download the .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 from the links: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&displaylang=en http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en) But, when installing the Framework 3.5 or the SP1, I get the message: "Use turn on or off disable features in Windows control panel".   Someone can help me?! - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits - SQL Server 2008 Developer (x86, x64, ia64).   Thanks! SQL server 2008 r2 Data sync question???

Sql 2008 r2 data sync, does it involve a db hosted by microsoft or does that involve us hosting the sync functionality locally?  I know we have db's local that need to be sync'd across a wan but does that happen in a db hosted in the ms cloud or does that have to do with a sync functionality that runs locally to keep my db's sync'd?   Thanks, SL

Import Excel data into SQL Server express 2008

I have recently installed SQL express 08 and created a table to import excel data into.  Im running on a windows 7 64 bit OS i5 processor.  I've disabled the firewall (temporarily) and will set the necessary ports once this is working. I run the following query:  (which i found from multiple sources on the net) Select   * From OPENROWSET ( 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0', 'Excel 8.0;Database=C:\Users\Public\lenovoBkup\contacts\outlookFiles\noib2a.xls', 'Select * From [sheet1$]' )  and receive the following message: Msg 7308, Level 16, State 1, Line 1                                                                                  OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' cannot be used for distributed queries because the provider is configured to run in single-threaded apartment mode.  (how did they know i was single and living in an apartment? lol) so after research of the following message i restarted the system and relaunched man

How to save Windows credentials to a data source in SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 using Visual

I am trying to create a shared data source for SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 that uses a specific Windows user ID and password to connect to the database. Using the Report Manager web interface, if I create a shared data source and specify "Credentials stored securely in the report server", I can check the "Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source" checkbox. This tells SSRS that the user ID and password I specify are from a Windows user, not a SQL Server user. I want to create the shared data source using Visual Studio though. In Visual Studio I have an option to use stored credentials but there is no equivalent of the "Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source" checkbox. SSRS always assumes that user and password are for a SQL Server user, not a Windows user, and thus the connection fails. Does anyone know how to tell Visual Studio that the stored credentials are for a Windows user?

Getting error while retrieving data from sql server 2008 to infopath 2007 in sharepoint 2007

Hi, I have created an InfoPath form in InfoPath 2007. In this form I am getting data from SQL Server. To do this I have created data source for SQL Server 2008’s Tables. I have created 4 connections for 4 tables. When I am previewing this form from InfoPath Designer 2007, it is working. But when I am publishing this, it is giving me an error ‘Can not update content type’. If I skip this error then my form published but when I open this form from Share Point 2007. It gives me an error:   There has been an error while processing the form. Click Continue to resume filling out the form. You may want to check your form data for errors. Click Start Over to load a new copy of the form.   An error occurred accessing a data source. An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server. Log ID: 6932 G. Goyal

SQL Server 2008 Data Collection Queries

I am trying to find information on the new Data Collection functionality in SQL Server 2008. Mainly around how to properly query the tables..etc for building custom reports. Anyone find any good books, CBTs or have any queries already written? Everytime I try to search on the subject I just get a bunch of tutorials on how to configure it, which really doesn't require much of a tutorial if you use the wizard.John M. Deadlock issue in SQL Server 2008 R2 (.Net 2.0 Application)

The Sql Server 2008 R2 instance in question is a heavy load OLTP production server. The deadlock issue came up a few days back and is still unresolved. We received the Xml deadlock report that listed the stored procedures involved in the deadlock and some other details. I'll try to list down the facts from this xml first: Two stored procedures are involved in the deadlock, say SP1 and SP2. According to the report SP1 was running in Isolation level "Serializable" and SP2 was running in "ReadCommitted" . We have investigated the following: Are we setting IsolationLevel of SP1 to "Serializable" inside SP or in Code? - No. Is any other SP whose IsolationLevel is "Serializable" calling SP1? - No. Are the table used by SP1 called by any other SP that has Isolation Level as "Serializable"? - Yes. There are SPs that have Isolation Level set to "Serializable" and access the same tables as SP1, but we don't know whether they were running at the time of deadlock or not as the deadlock report only showed SP1 and SP2. Lines of thought: We have considered the following possible causes: Deadlock is occurring because SP1 is running as "Serializable". - Why is this SP running in Serializable when I haven't set it? Is the Isolation level escalating (like locks do)? If we figure this out and make it run as ReadCom

SQL 2008 R2 Custom Data Connection Issue with Data Flow - Data Sources

I have a custom data connection that we used in SQL 2005 to connect to a non-standard source to pull data.  We are in the process of upgrading to SQL 2008 R2 and I am running into an issue that hopefully someone can help me with.

I have upgraded my custom connection code for SQL 2008 R2.  I can set up a connection using the custom code inside of an SSIS package.  However, when I go to a data flow task and try to select a connection for a data source object, OLEDB or ADO.Net data sources, my connection is not available.  If I select new on the connection option, my connection type is not available.  To get around this in SQL 2005 I used the data reader source.  The data reader source is not available in SQL 2008 R2.  So I am stuck.

My custom connection is implemented as an IDBConnection.
