I developed a simple library in VS2010 (targeted for 2.0 framework) and loaded it into SQL as an UNSAFE assembly.
What it does is very simple: it opens/closes application(s).
When it closes applications I have no problems at all, they are being closed/killed and I can see that through the task manager. The pain in the butt I am having is when I try to open it. The application that I'm interested in was developed in VS2005 and
when I'm sending the open mode it does execute the application and gets registered in the task manager but I cannot see the form nor the application in the taskbar (I mean visually)?
Do I need to add another assembly? (meaning a .net framework library to SQL)
Here's what I got "working":
CREATE ASYMMETRIC KEY akMotorAVL FROM EXECUTABLE FILE = 'C:\temp\MotorAVLController.dll'
CREATE LOGIN WinLogin FROM ASYMMETRIC KEY akMotorAVL
GRANT UNSAFE ASSEMBLY
