I am using VS 2010 Professional with SQL Server 2008 Developer. I right click on the App_Data folder in solution explorer and add an existing item, then navigate to the correct database. However, I receive a pop up that Access is Denied. How do I fix this?
In Server Management Studio, I am attempting to attach a database. After selecting the database in the wizard
I receive an error: This file is in use, Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program.
I don't have SSMS open, and have restarted the computer to make sure the memory is cleared. Not sure what to try next. Any ideas?
We have a sharpoint site hosted on our company's central shaerpoint server (not MOSS). We have a MS SQL DB running on one of our local servers.
I need to coneect to this DB, so through Sharepoint Designer, I try to connect to a data source. But it always fails to connect to this DB. However, I tried the same connection through VisualStudio, just to check, and it was able to connect to the DB.
Am wondering is it because the DB is not on the same server as the shareopint, so is this because of some trust relates issues? In any ways, is connecting to the DB from the SPD as data source the only way to connect to it?
What am I doing wrong here to get the conncetion going? Any inputs appreciated.
I used C# Linq to Sql to create a database. I look on the hard drive and the database .mdf and .ldf files are there. I open Server Management Studio 2008, attach to SQL express and the database is not there unless I actually attach the database.
First, is this correct behavior?
Second, is it possible to create a Sql Express database that is automatically registered(?) in Management Studio? If so, please give pointer.
Thanks very much.
When I try to attach a database using SQL server 2008 express version, it gives me an error message. it says
"Msg 18456, Level 14, State 1, Server LINDA\SQLEXPRESS, Line 1
Login failed for user 'LINDA\Linda'"
How can I fix this error?
I'm planning an upgrade from MOSS 2007 to Sharepoint 2010 with database attach method and I would like to know what happens with links
inside content pages and documents (words, excel, etc...) that points to the own site. Must we change the url host once we have finished to upgrade process in the new farm?. I suspect no, because I have meet some other experience attaching content database
between MOSS 2007 farms and the host url has been updated (I don't know why) .
Where can I found information
about it? Anyone has any related document?
