Hi all, The indicator feature caused an error: Error The state indicator, Indicator1, was detected in the report. SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services does not support state indicators. Either reduce the error level to a value less than 2 or change the ReportServerTargetVersion to a version that supports state indicators. How can i solve this issue? regards

SQL Server 2005 x64: Intermittent "Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 10."

Hi, We are experiencing intermittent authentication errors "Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 10" on a customer's production server. This is a new server that has just been rolled out in the past several months. Rebooting the server appears to make the problem go away. We are using SQL authentication from a separate server that is running IIS. The application always uses the same username and password to connect. Server info: select @@versionMicrosoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.2047.00 (X64) Apr 14 2006 01:11:53 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft CorporationStandard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1) select @@versionSP1 Sample error from SQL Server errorlog: Date  7/7/2006 10:53:24 AMLog  SQL Server (Archive #2 - 7/7/2006 12:20:00 PM)Source  LogonMessageError: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 10. MSDN (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms366351.aspx) lists various states for this error message but 10 is not included, and it says "Other error states exist and signify an unexpected internal processing error." Note: This was not a case of a transient error that occurs only when SQL Server is starting up - these errors occurred at a variety of times, two months after the server was last rebooted / SQL Server last restarted. Thanks for any help you can provide. Regards,-Frank.

DontSaveSensitive; Key not valid for use in specified state error

I initially had my packages set to 'EncryptSensitivewithPassword' and usedthe config files.  My job executes fine.  But I noticed I was getting THE error "......Key not valid for use in specified state.....".  So, I change the protection level to 'DontSaveSensitive' , saved packaged ,build and re-imported it.  And I still get the same result. What am I doing wrong??   Package is on the same server where it was built. I have a package in production that executes without the error.  I made a change to the package (logging) in test and now it also encounters same error as the package referenced above.

Msg 8624, Level 16, State 13 - Internal SQL Server error.

Hi, I have a weird T-SQL 80 query full of nested subqueries full of aggregations tha thas been embedded in a view. if I do select * from the view I get: Server: Msg 8624, Level 16, State 13 Internal SQL Error.  If I run the same block of code from the query analyzer it runs fine. Also if I wrap exactly the same code in a SP it runs fine. I'm running this on a SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition SP4 8.00.2282. + I turned on the following Trace Flags: 3614, 9052, 9054, 9056, 9057, 9185, 9256. If I restore the same DB on a SQL Server 2005 and do the same select * it runs fine. So I'm getting the Error 8624 only on my SQL 2000 Standard edition  SP4 8.00.2282. Another thing I dont understand is also: why I can compile the view but if I try to visualize even the query plan I get the same error?!? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you. state machine workflow project creation error

Hi,   I have a dev environment which i had sharepoint 2007 and now i upgraded it to sharepoint 2010. Now when i try to create a state machine workflow project it gives me an error Object Reference not set to an object. I uninstalled Sharepoint extensions 1.3 (as i 64bit win2008 vm) and when i am trying to install it. In one of the installation screens where it asks for the port no  and the select the app pool it only shows the sharepoint central v3 app pool . i was expecting to have sharepoint 2010 product app pool in the drop down. I know that there should be a app pool on port 80. Since i upgraded sharepoint to 2010. I want sharepoint visual studio extensions 1.3 to point to sharepoint 80 app pool . Please can you tell me how i can do it.

Error: 18056, Severity: 20, State: 28. 9.00.4035.00, Enterprise Edition (64-bit) Looking for troubleshooting steps specific to state 28.    As it is occurring on a server supporting automated testing whose configuration is not trivial to describe, I’m hoping that state 28 deals with (something) that will help me narrow my focus a bit.  Should that not pan out, I'll edit with more info.   edit: also getting one more cycle worth of data

SQL failover on 2 different clusters with message: Error: 17189, Severity: 16, State: 1.

SQL: SQL Server 2005 SP2 CU2 64-bit Ent Edition, Active/passive Cluster. Involved in transactional replication both as a subscriber (to about 350 publishers), and a publisher (to 1 subscriber). Distribution runs on seperate servers. Hardware: both nodes are Dell 6850'x 8 cores, 16  BG ram, running on a CX3-80 SAN   Utilization: 24x7 sales website - this is the OLTP DB supporting it.   Server Usage:   CPU typically around 10%-20%. Still getting specific about CPU during the actual failures, but it doesn't spike, and no MOM alerts fired. User Connections: historically was around 500-600, but during this week, some changes made to on the distribution server handling the the 400 publications the server subcribes to, has been changed, and we not have around 250 user connections.   We have had quite a few issues this week - but none before this week.   Changes: Other than a change to the way we are getting the transactional replication data into this server (reducing the number of publishers connecting to the OLTP DB), no *known* system changes - no SQL upgrades, no OS upgrades, no hardware changes/ugrades, no application/DB releases. We have a semi-decent change control system, so while we will chase those areas to ensure nothing unknown happened, they aren't our primary area of suspicion.   What we are seeing is a large amount (several hundred) of the following messages (taken

Backup failing - Error "operation is not valid due to the current state of the object" ...........Ca

Hi, I am having a problem backing up a site collection, when trying to backup the collection I get the following error  "operation is not valid due to the current state of the object"............. "Category Info :InvalidData" . I'm getting the same error whether I use CA "granular backup" or "Farm backup", and using either STSAMD or Powershell. I can backup CA or the mysite collection but not the Home Portal site collection. As this is a production system I am really worried that something is going to happen and I'll have no backup. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to either fix the problem or an alternative way to backup the collection or farm.  P.S. I am not using the "UseSQLSnapshot" parameter. Any ideas ?

SQLServer Express 2008 R2 - Cannot connect Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 11.

I have just installed  running MSSQL Server 2008 R2 (Express), along with Visual Web Developer 2010 Express In SQL Server Configuration Manager I can see the SQL Server Service running (SQLEXPRESS) and the SQL Server Browser service running. On running SQL Server Management Studio when trying to log on I get the message Login failed for user Phil-PC`Phil (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456) In the SQL Server Error log I see this error 2010-09-16 10:24:16.07 Logon       Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 11. 2010-09-16 10:24:16.07 Logon       Login failed for user 'Phil-PC\Phil'. Reason: Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure error. Check for previous errors. [CLIENT: <local machine>] I have been unable to find anything useful on Google on how to resolve this problem. I have tried running the command line utility sqlcmd -L and this lists the following Servers:     Phil-PC     Phil-PC\SQLEXPRESS   In my list of Installed programs in Control Panel I see both MS SQL Server 2008 & MS SQL Server 2008 R2, is that correct?

Session State throws error in ASP.NET Site Pages for SharePoint 2010 portal using Visual Studio 2010

I'm developing Visual Studio 2010 solution for site pages. I’ve created Site Pages in SharePoint 2010 and I’m trying to access Session variables in code behind in ASP.NET but it throws the following error.

Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the <configuration>\<system.web>\<httpModules> section in the application configuration.

I set the page directive as enableSessionState=&quo

Error: 18210, Severity: 16, State: 1. and Backup Error: 3041, Severity: 16, State: 1.

Issue :

The backup job fails and I get Error: 18210, Severity: 16, State: 1. and Backup Error: 3041, Severity: 16, State: 1. in SQL Server ERRORLOG.

Error comes while taking full backup on SQL Server 2005 sp3.

ERRORLOG extract

Error: 2803 Severity: 10 State: 1

Error: 2803, Severity: 10, State: 1. (Params:). The error is printed in terse mode because there was error during formatting. Tracing, ETW, notifications etc are skipped.

I am trying to find out ideas on how to troubleshoot this error message and exactly what it means. I have seen lots of articles call this error message out but nothing really explaining the significance of it or the true meaning, or even things to check when a similar error has been seen. The error is always preceeded by "Starting up database....." I don't necessarily know if that is related or not

Any ideas on what this error typically means

Error: 17806, Severity: 20, State: 2.

I got this error .Please help me to solve this.
Error: 17806, Severity: 20, State: 2.
SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x80090311 while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed.

Session state error in UserControl when using HttpModule for rewriting

Really hope that someone can help me out with this problem as I've been banging my head against the wall for the last 5 hours or so.  I've written a URL Rewriting HttpModule for a client and it all works fine in the development environment, but when I upload it to IIS 7 on my server it starts to complain (no surprise there then).  The error that is getting thrown is :

Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the <configuration>\<system.web>\<httpModules> section in the application configuration.

It only happens in the IIS 7 and when I use the URL Rewriting (if I go the page directly everything is fine).  I can actually use the Session fine in the actual page but the error is being thrown through a custom control that is being used for the menuheader and it needs to know about the session.  I've tried many things including putting all the enableSessionState directives into the web.config and the page directive and even someone saying that this was a bug in x64 machines and that I had to write a verificationCompatibilty entry into the registry.

The thing I don't understand is why it's not

Error retrieving Workflow Properties in a Custom State Machine Workflow WSS 3.0

Using Visual Studio 2008 and the Office 2008 State Machine workflow template, I created a VERY SIMPLE workflow with ONE state. In the state initialization, I create a simple task. This works fine when I hard code the title, etc for the task. But, when I need to get some properties out of the list where the workflow was started, I get an exception  I've done this in a sequential workflow and it works fine. Error is: "Value cannot be null. Error Occured - Three state workflow

I faced this issue and was able to resolve it. I am hoping this will
be helpful to someone who might get into trouble using the default
three state workflow.

I created a list and tried to use the default Three state workflow.
The workflow was enabled to start as soon as a new list item was
created. It started and the status was "Error Occurred". Being a Java
guy I didn't know where to look for this error. I checked the Event
Viewer but not much help. Is there a log file for Project Server

Here is the reason why this happened. I had to go through most of my
fields in the custom list to understand what was causing this problem.

I had a field called Owner and I had enabled this option "Allow
multiple selections: ". This caused something to break in the
workflow. I am assuming it cannot handle a Person/Group field that
allows multiple selections even though none of the list items actually
had multiple persons selected.

Hopefully this will help someone in the future if they enable any
Person/Group field to have multiple selections.
