WIN SERVER 2008

SQL SERVER 2008 R2 -- DATABASE ENGINE + REPORTING SERVICE installed.

http://myserverdomain/reportserver -- I can see my subsite, and at footer it shows SQL SERVER Reporting Services Version

Sharepoint 2010 --- Installed, before I install Sharepoint 2010, I run the "Install Software Prerequisites", since my server doesn't have Internet connection, I manually download all those components(hot fix KB976462, Filter Pack 2.0, etc.) and then copy to server then do the installation.

I am trying to install the 'Reporting Services Add-In for SharePoint'. (downloaded rsSharepoint_x64.msi), its rolling back the installation at the last step and showing me the message saying"Please Ensure Microsoft Sharepoint technologies is installed".

Problem Integration SQL Reporting Service 2005 and SharePoint 2007

Hello, I'm trying to make our SQL Reports available on our SharePoint report center. I have SQL 2005 (sp3) report server that resides on a different server than our SharePoint 2007 server. So in our SRS Configuration Tool, we changed the database mode for SharePoint integration (before, we only had it in native mode), so we created a new database for this SharePoint Integration type. Next, I installed the Report Server Add-in for SharePoint 2007 server and it was successful. However when configuring the Report Server, we got stuck at the step "Grant Database Access". For some reason we keep getting error message "Named instance not found" We already installed Service Pack 3 on the Report Server... I heard that the problem is because the mismatched version between the Report Server Add-in in SharePoint and the SQL RS version... but I don't think this is the case for us. Do we need to install WSS on our Report Server too? Another question: We already integrate our Report Server with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. However I see that when the Report Server is in the SharePoint Integration mode, all the reports in CRM don't work (because Report Manager is no longer available in this mode). Do you think it would be the best practice to install a copy of Report Server instance in our SharePoint 2007 server? Thank you, greatly appreciate all your hel

problem rename sharepoint 2010 search service application admin database

Hi all, i have a problem that hopefully someone has an answer to. i am not too familiar with sharepoint so please excuse my ignorance. we have sharepoint 2010 on a windows 2008r2 server. everything seems to work fine. but as you know, the default database names are horrendous. i have managed to rename all of them, except for the "search service application" admin database. the default is: Search_Service_Application_DB_
the other 2 databases (crawl and property) were renamed without a problem. we are following the article from technet on how to rename the search service admin db (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-nz/library/ff851878%28en-us%29.aspx). it says to enter the following command: $searchapp | Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication -DatabaseName "new database name" -DatabaseServer "dbserver" however, i get an error about identity being null. no big deal, i add the -Identity switch and the name of my search service application. but the real problem comes the error it throws: Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication : The requested database move was aborted as the associated search application is not paused. At line:1 char:54 + $searchapp | Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication <<<< -Identity "Search Service Application" -DatabaseName "ShareP

Problem With SharePoint Designer 2010 and the Search.asmx Web Service

I've created a web service datasource on a 2010 site using SharePoint Designer. When I try to make use of the datasource on a page I get the "The server returned a non-specific error when trying to get data from the data source..." message. The datasource connects to _vti_bin/search.asmx. I am using the QueryServiceSoap port and operation QueryX. I've tried various queryXml strings, including site & people searches using both SQL and keyword syntax. eg <QueryPacket xmlns="urn:Microsoft.Search.Query" Revision="1000"><Query domain="QDomain"> <SupportedFormats><Format>urn:Microsoft.Search.Response.Document.Document</Format></SupportedFormats> <Context> <QueryText language="en-US" type="MSSQLFT"> SELECT Size, Rank, Path, Title, Description, Write, Filename, Description, Author FROM scope() WHERE CONTAINS ('"Lorum"') AND ( ("SCOPE" = 'All Sites') ) ORDER BY "Rank" DESC </QueryText> </Context> <Range><StartAt>1</StartAt><Count>20</Count></Range> <EnableStemming>false</EnableStemming> <TrimDuplicates>true</TrimDuplicates> <IgnoreAllNoiseQuery>true&l

How to use SharePoint 2007 list data in Reporting Service (Visual Studio) 2008?

Jeez - I have been googling left and right, and tried all the suggestions. No luck in getting it to work. I am using Reporting Service 2008 tools in my VS2008, trying to create a simple report using SharePoint 2007 data (from a simple list). Here is what I've been doing: Created a simple SharePoint list in a test site - only one column (Title) with one record of data. Started Visual Studio 2008 and created a new Report Server Project Wizard project. I named the data source "dsTest". Type: "XML". As connection string I used: http://site/subsite/subsite/_vti_bin/lists.asmx. Credentials: "Use Windows Authentication (Integrated Security)". Clicked Next and arrived at the "Design the Query" form. I entered this in the Query string box: <Query> <Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/" Name="GetListItems" /> <SoapAction>http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/GetListItems</SoapAction> </Query> Clicking Next I get this error: An error occurred while the query design method was being saved. Failed to execute web request for the specified URL. Soap Fault: Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown. Now if I view the Details when trying it inside the Query Builder I get this: <errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.mi

Windows Sharepoint Foundation 2010 - Document Library Settings with Reporting Services 2008 R2 in in

I have a client who has recently upgraded their SharePoint system to Windows Sharepoint Foundation 2010 with Reporting Services 2008 R2 in integrated mode. I have configured reporting services and am able to deploy reports to SharePoint. The client created a document library before the upgrade to WSF 2010. I need to add Report Builder 3.0 to the New Document menu and found the following article. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326289.aspx "Allow management of content types?" is set to yes under the advanced document library settings. The problem is that when I try to "add from existing site content types" the reporting services content types are not in the list. I appreciate any help you can give me.

AAM Problem with SSRS 2008 R2 and Sharepoint 2010

I have a single server farm with Sharepoint 2010 and SQL 2008 R2 installed. I have an extranet zone configured - and this is working fine from the internet via a Forefront TMG box. All features in the farm, including Performance Point pieces (reports/dashboards etc) are working fine via the extranet zone except for Reporting Services reports (these are working fine in the internal/default zone). I can see the report library, and the individual report items via the extranet, but when I try to view a report, I get this:

" The Web application at https://extranet.company.asia/client/Report Library/Spend by Media Owner.rdl could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application."

My understanding is that multiple zones are now supported in Sharepoint 2010/SSRS 2008 integrations, and that AAM should propagate automatically (?). Can anyone assist in helping me understand where to look next?

many thanks,

Steve.

Reporting Services Add in for SharePoint - Installation Interrupted

I am trying to install the 'Reporting Services Add-In for SharePoint'. And for some strange reason, its rolling back the installation at the last step and showing me the message saying 'The Reporting Services Add in set up was interrupted. Your system was not modified, please run the set up again'. I tried googling for any solutions, but everyone is saying I should look in the 'Documents and Settings -> temp' folder for the installation log file which would tell me the cause of the error, but as luck would have it, im not able to find that file as well (there are no files in temp, and the log is not getting created there).. I tried the 'msiexec *i' option, but was not able to find anything useful there.

Any pointers towards solving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

SharePoint 2010 and Reporting Services 2008 R2 Integration Fail - Failed to establish connection wit

We have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition on a virtual server (C-SQL) and SharePoint Server 2010 on another virtual server (C-SPOINT), with the SQL Backend of the SharePoint database residing on C-SQL. This worked fine.

SQL Server was installed with the domain administrator account and SharePoint with an account called 'visi' that has domain administrator privileges.

SSRS on C-SQL was initially installed as a native database. I changed this to a SharePoint integrated database with all authentications done as the visi user. Report server url was set to the normal http://C-SQL:80/ReportServer/.

On the SharePoint central administration site under General Application Settings -> Reporting Services Integration I filled in the details as required:

  • SharePoint 2010 & Sql 2008 Reporting Services Integration

Need a little help. Here is the error message I recieve when trying to add the Reporting Services URL in Central Administration

Failed to establish connection with report server. Verify the server URL is correct or review ULS logs for more information. Product area: SQL Server Reporting Services, Category: Configuration Pages

Reporting services and Sharepoint Foundation 2010 + SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM - Express with Advanced S

    Hallo,

is possible use reporting services in Sharepoint Foundation 2010 if I have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM - Express with Advanced Services? I tried various settings and configurations, but it not works (I am not able successfully configure Reporting Services Integration in Central Administration).

Now I am not sure that is possible use reporting services in SPF 2010 + SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM - Express with Advanced Services...

    Thank you!

SharePoint 2010 - Profile Synchronization Service Problem

    Hi!

I have a problem with the synchronization service. It all started when our customer in this case wanted to change the account used for the synchronization connection.
We set up a new account and added replicate directory changes access to the account but when we tried to switch account on the connection we got an error in Central Administration.
We then tried to delete the connection but this also resulted in an errormessage.
When this didn't work we tried adding a new connection with the new user wich worked but still couldn't delete the old connection using the wrong account.
To try and fix the problem we tried resetting the sync service following MS directions. This didn't work either and now the service won't start so the connections won't show up in the connections list.

Does anyone have any clue what to do next? I'm out of ideas.

    Thanks!

Sharepoint 2010 and Exchange 2010 migration and installation SBS 2008

Hi, I am currently in the process of migrating the server for my small company. We have aren't likely to have more than 20ish users on the server at the same time. My boss would like to transition our server from Windows Server 2003 to Windows SBS 2008. Along with that we would like to migrate the data(if possible, if not copy/paste the important folders/data) from our exchange 2007 and sharepoint 2003 to exchange 2010 and sharepoint 2010.

I have been looking around and people seem to imply that SBS 2008 would be a solution for implementing both. However nobody explains why it will work on SBS 2008 and how to implement it. Can somebody please give me an overview of what to do in order to implement and migrate both programs successfully?

    Thanks,

    Justin

Service Applications missing from SharePoint Server 2010 Installation

    Hi Guys,

I recently completed an in-place upgrade from WSS 3.0 to SharePoint Foundation 2010 to SharePoint Server 2010. While the first half of this migration process seems to have worked from WSS 3.0 to Foundation 2010 the upgrade from Foundation 2010 to Server 2010 has left the installation with only the Foundation level service applications.

If I go to add a new service application the only ones listed are the foundation service applications but if I go to check the current license it confirms the enterprise server edition is installed. I have re-ran the product configuration wizard and if I check the patch status in central administration it confirms that all the enterprise components are installed they just aren't showing up in the service applications listing!

Any ideas on how I can add these missing services to central administration?

    Cheers.

    SharePoint 2010 and SSRS 2008 R2 Problem

I'm having problems configuring SSRS in integrated mode, whenever I try to do anything with SSRS (including create a data source in a report library) I get a 401 Error. I'll try to describe my setup the best I can.

My farm consists of 3 servers.

SPSQL1 - Contains all the databases needed for SharePoint
SPAPP1 - Central Admin and SSRS (DNS Alias REPORT1)
    SPWFE1 - Web Front End

Outside of the environment I have

    CUBE1 - SSAS
    SQL1 - RDB

I have the following SPN's setup:

On spapp_user (Which also is the service account for SSRS)
    HTTP/spwfe1
    HTTP/spwfe1.local
    HTTP/spapp1
    HTTP/spassp1.local
    HTTP/report1
    HTTP/report1.local

    On cube_user I have
    MSOLAPSvc.v3/CUBE1
    MSOLAPSvc.v3/CUBE1.LOCAL

    On sql_usre I have
    MSSQLSvc/SQL1
    MSSQLSvc/SQ1.LOCAL

On spwfe1, spapp1, and spapp_user I have setup constrained delegations to
    MSSQLSvc/SQL1
    MSSQLSvc/SQ1.LOCAL
    MSSQLSvc/SQL1
    MSSQLSvc/SQ1.LOCAL
    HTTP/REPORT1
    HTTP/REPORT1.LOCAL

I also have setup the reporting services config file to negotiate instead of use NTLM. And the Applicaon is using classic authentication since we're trying to use Windows Authentication in the reports we want to create when we can actually create them.

So far I have had no luck, however I am able to succe
