SSIS Package working on SQL Client Machine but when trying to run on SQL Server machine giving error

Hi We are trying to run SSIS package on sql server machine but sometimes it is giving error for data flow task containing Script Component. Error is - [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: component "SCR DimensionRelation" (1) failed the post-execute phase and returned error code 0x80004002. This error is not coming continuously. And also not for specific DFT. It comes for different DFTs as we rerun the package. Can anybody help me on this? We are using SQL server 2008. We are not getting any error on client machine :(:(

SSIS Package Execution Monitoring

How to monitor the execution of SSIS packages through Dtexec? I need to show Start Time, Status of each Task in package and estimated time to complete the execution while package is being executed.

SSIS Package execution issue

HI ALL i am in great need,i am using ssis 2008 i have a package and two task in it..both task have OLEDB source and OLEDB desination when i execute the package whole data get dump from source to destination .but still my package does not show that it has been executed successfully..means package still show yellow color (processing mode)..not showing green color even after dumping whole data BOth package run one after other first dataflow task i have join with second data flow task....(second task start loading data but still fist package that has loaded data is in yellow color)

SSIS Package returns the error - The command execution generated errors.

SSIS Package returns the error - 'The command execution generated errors'. Please let us know the cause for this error if anyone encountered this error before. Require a solution for this.   Thanks

SSIS Generic Error: The command execution has generated errors, more information?

How do I get more information from this error? I am just pulling from a csv file, looking up a couple values, and on match, updating a database with a stored procedure. I have made sure all datatypes match, and that there are no special characters in any of the records. I am importing over 3000 records, and only 4 fail, with this generic error, and I have scrutinized the data to the utmost. How do I get more information on this error? The lineageID is 0, what does that mean? In know it refers to a column, but 0 certainly doesnt relate to any columns. Thanks

remote execution of ssis package using wcf doesn't like date parameter

I have a ssis package remotely executed by a C# windows application that runs ok in context of SSIS installed on the desktop; I created a wcf windows service that the C# application executes, creates a copy of the package with the date in the variable, but errors on the first SQL task component that requires the date. The copy executes using the SSIS utility. What is possibly the issue with wcf and the date type in the SSIS package? Here is the error:

OnError,SRVR2BLADEA3,MIC\1347259,Clear CII ImportDate,{AB3CF5BA-C114-40F6-9ECB-4C7620D97829},{8B1C10CB-580F-4BFE-BC7D-0B97C181E307},9/27/2010 3:29:56 PM,9/27/2010 3:29:56 PM,-1073548784,0x,Executing the query "" failed with the following error: "The type initializer for '<Module>' threw an exception.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

Here is the code:

case @"E:\SSIS Packages\CIISCImport.dtsx":

//string dtValue = (prms[iPrms - 1].Split('=').GetValue(1).ToString()) + " 12:00";

vars["User::ImportDate"].Value = DateTim

Remote copy and execution given admin username and password for remote machine

I have an application (.exe files) that I need to install on remote machine. For this I need to copy .exe file from my machine A remote machine B  and execute it remotely.

I have local administrative privilleges on remote machine.

For e.g. Username & password on remote machine : "remoteAdmin" , "remotePassword".

However this "remoteAdmin" account is not present in my local admin group on my machine A.

Is there a way to do this ?

Also on remote machine B firewall may be on or off.

I tried this using WMI but there were some issues due to firewall.

I can do this using File.Copy method of System.IO namespace but it needs "remoteAdmin" account to be present in my local machine's (A) Administrators group. I have even tried creating new user account and adding to admin goup using DirectoryServices but I don't know how to set domain for the new account.

Also for remote execution I tried using wmic but it did not work when firewall was on. Iteried remotely running notepad.exe. It works if firewall is off but I cannot assume that firewall would be always off.

So , is there a way to copy file and remotely execute them if I have admin username and password for remote machine ( preferable using C++ or C#) ?

 Also I cannot

SSIS Package execution

Server_A doesn't have SSIS installed. But Server_B have SSIS installed. Server_A and Server_B has Linked Server setup. I am able to retrieve Server_A data from Server_B. Can I create and run a package in Server_B which will pull data from Server_A and create a .csv file in a file server?

I appreciate any help and suggestions in advance.

Execution SSIS package in .NET: ADO NET Source with Expressions Problem

Hello Gurus!

We try to execute our SSIS packages from a .NET application. It works fine until we use “Expressions ” inside Data Flow’s components like “ADO NET Source” (e.g., for building SQL statements)

I use the ADO NET Source Control and want to set the SqlCommand property with an expression holding a SQL statement.

When executing the SSIS package in Visual Studio (in debug mode) I get no problem, everything works fine. When executing the package from within my .NET application it crashes the app completely, only creating a generic Win32 Exception with no relevant information.

My steps:

1.       I created new SSIS package.

2.       Then added the Data Flow component.

3.       Inside Data Flow I added “ADO NET Source&

2 SSIS services running on one machine

I have developed a set of packages which i am attempting to deploy to a server which i did not configure.

The Server has three versions of SQL installed - SQL 2000 (default), 2005 and 2008.

When i run my deployment manifest i receive an error: 0xC0011008 - I think this is because my package is developed in BIDS 2008 and the server is running SSIS 2005.

This is my issue....when I look in the services on the server - i have two integration services, both running (i didn't think this was possible?)

1. SQL Server Integration Services
2. SQL Server Integration Services 10.0

When i connect to Integration Services through SSMS - the version displayed is 9.0.4035

There is also no DTS directory under the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\ or C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100 directory ....?

How can i rectify this? I want to end up with SSIS 2008 installed.

Thanks, Clay

SSIS Package Execution

We have a SQL 2008 server without SSIS on it. What do we need to run an SSIS package with out installing SSIS? Thanks in advance for the help.

SSIS package execution forces a checkout!

I have just started working with SSIS and already stuck! My environment is:

- SQL Server 2005 SP3
- Visual Studio BIDS 2005
- Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2008 SP1

Problem: everytime I execute my package, the file get checked out of TFS!

Is there a reason for this? More importantly, how can I tell BIDS to check a package only if I actually want to edit it?

SSIS 2008: Problem reading dynamic file during execution

I have a SSIS 2008 project that reads a bunch of files from a file (always the same file) from Machine A.
My package is running on Machine B and this is where the information is being imported to, my Reporting DB (sql 2008) is also located in Machine B.
I have a dynamic log file that stores the execution errors every time the package is executed and its name is made up of the timestamp of when package starts executing. The "DelayValidation" option for this connection is set to "TRUE". When i execute my Package from Visual Studio 2008, it runs without a problem.
The problem is when i deploy my package into SQL Server 2008 and try running it through DTEXEC. I always get the following error:

Error: 2010-11-03 14:57:29.06
   Code: 0xC001401E
   Source: MyImportPackage Connection manager "ImportLog"
Description: The file name "\\ip-address\d$\Logs\ImportManager\20101103_145726.txt" specified in the connection was not valid.

Get latest file name using SSIS script task: Error while execution

Hi  , I am trying to get the latest file name to process files in SSIS using vb.net code . I did set the varible in the For each loop container and assigned the variable in my file connection. I have been receiving this error msg.: Please help me out.

Error: 0x2 at Get File Name: The script threw an exception: The element cannot be found in a collection. This error happens when you try to retrieve an element from a collection on a container during execution of the package and the element is not there.

Error during execution a web method for a web service task - SSIS 2005

I'm created a SSIS 2005 pkg that refers a wsdl file by a web service task. When I execute the task I can see an error as

"Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: cannot possible to find the method 'ProxyNamespace.CreateAndCompleteSubscriptionImplService.action'..    in Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)    in Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection, VariableDispenser taskVariableDispenser)    in Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()"

I haven't written the wsdl file, but I must use it to use the web service in SSIS environment.

Any suggests to me, please? Many thanks

I can add that the web service is implemented with Java technology and the same wsdl it is used with success inside a .NET application. Thanks

Could be a compatibility issue?

SSIS Package Execution Failure in ASP.NET

Hi All,

I am new to ASP.NET and SSIS Package . I tried to execute a package. Package Execution is working well in my local server but it not working in web server. While trying to find the error, i got the following,

System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: Showing a modal dialog box or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode is not a valid operation. Specify the ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service application.

It would be helpful if any one find a solution.

Thanks in advance.

SSIS package runs very slow on SQL 2008 R2 server, runs very quickly on virtual XP machine

Hi All,

I've been troubleshooting this issue on and off for a few weeks now.  I've scoured these forums and looked through sqlis.com, but I'm just about out of ideas.  Here's what's happening.

I have a *very* simple integration services package I developed on a  virtual Windows XP machine running on my workstation.  The package uses a script task to simulate a one-row source with four columns (int, char(64), varchar(512) and char(2)) and then passes that off to a fuzzy lookup.  The fuzzy lookup is running against a table of only about 6,000 rows.  The package then inserts the results into a table and exits.

When I run this from my virtual XP machine, it completes in 1-2 seconds.

When I execute this on the server (either as a job or through DTExec) it takes 14-18 seconds.  The server stores the package in MSDB and is also the location where the fuzzy lookup happens.

I've tried using the 32-bit runtime, creating 32- and 64-bit aliases to the server, changing the name of the server from the name to the IP address and port, stopping/restarting SQL Agent and SSIS Services... none of this seems to change the execution time.

The one thing I've found is that if I enable package logging on the logging tab of the job, using the SSIS Log Provider for SQL Server and pointing it to the same connection st
