.Net 2.0 errors in Windows XP .NET Runtime Optimization Service & EventType clr20r3

I have a program that runs on windows XP using .net 3.5 framework family. After many reinstalls using the redistributable package, the bootstrapper, and windows updates, when launching the program i get "".exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Event viewer shows this:

.Net Runtime 2.0 Error

EventType clr20r3, P1 "".exe, P2 2010.1.1012.1, P3 4c6168a1, P4 system.configuration, P5, P6 4889de74, P7 277, P8 14, P9 ioibmurhynrxkw0zxkyrvfn0boyyufow, P10 NIL.

There are also these errors in event viewer, that only showed up after installing using Windows Updates.

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Service reached limit of transient errors. Will shut down. Last error returned from Service Manager: 0x80029c4a.

I followed the advice in another msdn support request, http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netfxsetup/thread/f56cc6e4-c2bf-490c-b87b-3e22b1e6b935 that suggested running:

%windir%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe update

%windir%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe executequeuedstatus

%windir%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe queue status

and the requested output of the update command returns:

Error loading type library/DLL. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80029C4A (TYPE_E_CANTLOADLIBRARY))

After apply SQL Server 2005 SP4 recieved .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50

I have just installed SQL Server 2005 SP4.  After the reboot of the server I noticed the following error in the event viewer.

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: Microsoft.ReportingServices.QueryDesigners, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 . Error code = 0x80070002

I received no errors during the install of SQL Server 2005 SP4.

I started the service, which is set to manual, and it immediately stops, but do not receive any errors.

I rebooted the server since the error message and have not received the message again.

What is this service? How does this service apply to SQL Server 2005? Is there a fix?  I noticed in other forums that is error message has been around for a while but not sure of any fix and/or explaination of the service.

Any help is appreciated.

Anonymous Access & Web Service Errors

Getting errors on all my InfoPath web services now that I've enabled Anonymous Access at the Web Application level -- not on the Site Collection itself (the other Site Collection is Anon enabled). I found this thread in the pre-Sharepoint 2010 forums. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointinfopath/thread/14d2c1c2-32d4-430b-a191-c01e1ade52fa Does anyone know which parameters or changes I need to make in 2010? Many thanks...

Search Service Application creation causes DB errors in SharePoint Logs

When I add a Search Service Application in CA, I receive database errors in the LOG files related to permissions.  The service account is the same as the Farm service account in this case, which does have the db_owner role for the Search Service databases.  I have tried re-installing SharePoint Server 2010 three times.  The first two, I was using a service account that had less rights and failed to create the Search Service Application databases.  Using the Farm service account, I was able to create the Service, but still getting the errors mentioned below.

Invoke WXF Service runtime without using SVCUTIL or addservice reference

Hi Guys,

I wanted to develop a wcf service and  i  wanted to invoke this wcf service in client application  by generating the proxy at runtime and use this proxy to incoke the methods of the WCF service. I have an idea how to develop wcf proxy  by using either SVCUtil.exe or Addservice Option in Visual studio. But My client wants to generate this proxy at runtime only as i have the service endpoint available to my client application .As I know the service Endpoint in my client applicatio( Like http://localhost/ HelloWcfservice/Service.svc)  ,now i have to use this service url and needs to generate the proxy class for this service and use this proxy to invoke the methods.

I got some basic info on this..is like this

As i have this Service URL ,I will get the Metadata of that service at runtime. and then from this Metadata i will generate a proxy and invoke the Methods of the service.  But i don't have any sample how i can do this .Can someone please help me with this how i can complete this task

Forefront Identity Manager errors when starting the User Profile Synchronization Service Application

I have seen several people who are having trouble getting the User Profile Synchronization Service to start.  None of those threads have the set of errors that I am seeing.  I have all the prerequisites installed and I am using the farm administrator account which has admin rights both on the SP server and the SQL box.  This is a split back-to-back extranet topology and there is a one way trust between the extranet domain and the internal domain.  The administrator account is an internal domain account.  I receive the following two Forefront errors every five seconds in the event log after starting the User Profile Synchronization Service Application:

Windows service hosting WCF service errors with Error ID 7034, WindowsService service terminated une

We have a number of windows services that are hosting a WCF 4.0 service each (Windows 2003 R2 Stardard SP2)

Invariably we are getting An error from Service Control Manager with this error id:7034

The description states:

"The RMWindowsService service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s)."

We have 10 services running on 5 servers (Prod, Pre-Prod, Support, Test,Dev)

All servers are Windows 2003 R2 Stardard SP2.

All Services are experiencing the error.

Some times all together, some times 2-3 at a time, some times, only one errors

On searching on the error this link said that the Error Id meant

"ERROR 7034: NS_E_SOURCEGROUP_NOTPREPARED.This error is due to The source is not yet prepared.%0 .The source of the error code is the Windows Media Server."

On searching for NS_E_SOURCEGROUP_NOTPREPARED , this link confirmed  in part what was said.

But I can find nothing that gives me a root cause of what is causing this error. Which is fair as I wrote the Winservice

Windows Service Applications Tutorials

You can easily create services by creating an application that is installed as a service. For example, suppose you want to monitor performance counter data and react to threshold values. You could write a Windows Service application that listens to the performance counter data, deploy the application, and begin collecting and analyzing data.

WCF Tip: Using Properties in Service Contracts

you'll notice all of the Service Contracts are implemented with interfaces containing only methods. For the longest time I thought that's all that was supported, until I thought about it a little more. In C# land, properties are simply wrappers around a get method and set method, so why wouldn't we be able to use properties in a service contract? Well the answer is we can.

Realizing a Service-Oriented Architecture with .NET

This article is meant to be a practical discussion guide to building a .NET application in a service-oriented architecture. We will consider real-world goals, real-world obstacles, and experience-based solutions. I quickly concede the approaches discussed here are not exhaustive or infallible. This paper is focused on application development, not application integration. We will specifically consider architectural issues and component design issues.

The Potential of Web Services

Web Service for uploading documents into SharePoint

WS UploadService is a web service written for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and is meant for uploading documents into SharePoint. I have just uploaded the zip file to GotDotNet.com so it will take some time before the zip file appears in the list of downloads. For the time being, you can download the zip file from the following location

Creating and Using an ASP.NET Web Service in Visual Web Developer

In addition to letting you create Web pages, Microsoft Visual Studio also lets you create Web services that use ASP.NET XML. Creating a Web service in Visual Studio is similar to creating a Web page. You can also use the Microsoft Visual Web Developer Web development tool to reference and use Web services that are in a Visual Web Developer solution, on your local computer or in a local or external UDDI directory. In this walkthrough, you will create the Web service in one solution and use it in another.

Tasks illustrated in this walkthrough include:

Creating a simple XML Web service in Visual Web Developer.

Creating a separate Web site that uses the Web service.

AutoGenerateSelectButton="False" ignored when using Domain Service

Crosspost from RIA Services forum: http://forums.silverlight.net/forums/t/196466.aspx

I'm creating a Dynamic Data application in VS2010 and have recently switched to using a Domain Service to give greater control over the data presented to the client. I've noticed that the AutoGenerate<Action>Button attributes on my GridView are being ignored. The presence of the Edit and Delete buttons appear to be contingent on the existence of Update and Delete methods on the partial classes autogenerated in the Domain Service, but i'm not seeing how to control the generation of the Select button. Is there a way to control this from within the Domain Service class?

Any framework for creating a job scheduler service?

Just curious to know if there was any official Microsoft code blocks, classes, or such for writing a service that runs other assemblies or WCF services?  That can be configured easily from a web page, pre-coded, for running tasks at certain times on certain recurring intervals?  I've already built one but am open to anything done better- which I'm sure there is.  Thanks!!!
