Password Strength Expression

It's been a while since I've had to use regular expressions.

Can someone explain this to me in layman's terms?

Regular Expression for password

Hello All,   I want to get the password from the user in the following format, Sud_19!)86.   Minimum 7 char and Max 10. Always the first char should be in Caps. First 3 characters must be alphabets. Must contain Digits and Special char. It can be any number.   How to do this with the REGULAR EXPRESSION CONTROL in asp.   Please help me out of this.

Assistance required on modifying a validation expression

I have found a very useful validation expression at http://regexlib.com/DisplayPatterns.aspx?cattabindex=2&categoryId=3  However, I want to make a couple of changes but am struggling a little!!

The expression is:

As per the link, this "regular expression will match on a real / decimal / floating point / numeric string with no more than 2 digits past the decimal. The negative sign (-) is allowed. No leading zeroes or commas. It is based on a currency regular expression by Tom Persing."

I would like to modify this as follows:

- Not match on numbers above 999
- Allow up to 5 digits past the decimal

How do I require a multiple of a type of expression (e.g. 2 uppers, 2 lowers, etc.) for password com

I read the pinned post on this forum for password complexity and tried to adapt it to my needs but can't seem to force the requirement of no length, 2 upper, 2 lower, 2 specials, and 2 numbers in the regex:

Started with from the forum post:

And tried:

...but can't seem to get it to work.  As you can see, I've just duplicated the expression I'm trying to use to match the different categories twice to try and get the desired affect of enforcing a 2x match.  The pattern should match things like:

Thanks in advance.

Encypt and Decrypt a Password using SQLSERVER 2005(Video)

symmetric key protected by a password

An alternative could be using a symmetric key protected by a password, as long as your application generates the CREATE SYMMETRIC KEY and OPEN SYMMETRIC KEY statements directly instead of calling them inside a SP (otherwise the password will still be passed as a parameter, and will be in clear in the profiler).

Use Membership but bypass / disable password usage for users

I have an application that does LDAP authentication. The authentication is done on the code behind page of my Login.aspx page. Once the user passes LDAP authentication, a cookie is set and I redirect:

FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(UserName.Text, False)

I would like to setup membership in my application and keep track of some user information. But due to company security requirements, I cannot store user passwords on my application. That must stay on the LDAP server only.

Is there a way to store users but disable password storage on the aspnet_membership table?
