RDLC Group Header to show the first not null value of a field.

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

I have a group header that's generated from a Field that comes from the database.

Like this:

Cab04R	Val04R	Cab05R	Val05R

AV Rec	100,753	NULL NULL

AV Rec	101,753	NULL NULL

AV Rec	102,753	NULL NULL

AV Rec	103,753	NULL NULL

AV Rec	104,753	NULL NULL

AV Rec	105,753	NULL NULL

AV Rec	106,753	NULL NULL

AV Rec	107,753	NULL NULL

AV Rec	108,753	Ferias Rec	653,675

Where the Cab04 and Cab05 refers to Table Headers and Val04 and Val05 to Table Details.

The thing is, I want that Cab05 to show the first not null value (in this case, "Ferias Rec") and if it is null, no problem I already have a Hidden Expression for that.

Can you help me?

Want to show a group header item only when the group value changes

Hi,    We have a couple of reports that show lines for a customer order. We were told to add notes for each line that were entered in our oe portal so our manufacturers and shippers could see them. I've done this but the group header for an order ine is set to repeat so the note shows on every page. Each line can take up several pages due to the fact that lot pick information is displayed for each line.     When the notes are long, it can create a report that is very long, simply due ot the extra space need on each page. We would like the line note to to appear ONLY when the value of the line number changes and we are on a new line and not after. Is there a way to detect that the line group value has changed and to print the note then but not after until a new line number is reached?    Any help would be appreciated. fig000

How to use server side validation to ensure image field is not null

I'm having trouble accomplishing the above. Below is all the mark up and code. I'm not getting error messages, but the validate image function is not working (fileupload portion is working ok).

In my attempt below---not sure if it's the simplest or best validation approach anyway---the "UserId" parameter appears during rendering to be empty---but in most methods I have it successfully containing or referring to the logged-in user's identification.

Following is the control that refers to the image field (page = advertisement.aspx):

<asp:Image ID="Image" runat="server" ImageUrl ='<%#Eval("UserId","Image.aspx?UserId={0}") %>'

Following is the successful code behind for the page image.aspx referred to above (page = image.aspx.vb):

Partial Public Class Image

    Inherits System.Web.UI.Page

Public Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load

        If Request.QueryString("UserId") IsNot Nothing Then

Updating a List item field value in a SPD Workflow is setting Date fields to null

Hello everybody,I faced a very weird behavior while creating a workflow in SPD against a Document Library. Here is the case:1- Create a document library in sharepoint site.2- Add a custom column of type DATE.3- Upload any document to the library4- Edit the item metadata and set the custom date field to any date you want.5- Now using sharepoint designer, create a very simple Workflow with only one action that updates the current item "Title" field to any value. (Note: In my case I set the workflow to start manually and not automatically)6- Save the workflow and then start it on the uploaded item.7- Now check the value of the date column after the workflow is finished.8- You will see that the Date field is Empty... (very weird)Notes:   1-This behavior will not appear on a standard list. it is only appearing in a Document library.  2- I am using WSS 3.0 SP2 + MOSS 2007 SP2. Also SharePoint designer 2007 SP2Did anyone face this situation and does it have a fix, or am I doing something wrong here... Please help.Regards,Maheed

SharePoint 2007 to Access 2007 - Issues grouping by "Person or Group" field type/column

We are on SharePoint 2007 and using Access 2007.  The SharePoint list contains a column called Assigned Person, column type: Person or Group, single selection, displaying only the name 1) When we Open with Access and Export a copy of the data, then create a report from that table, we do not have the option to group on Assigned Person.  2) When we Open with Access and Link to data on the SharePoint site, then create a report from that list, when we group by Assigned Person... The same person has 2 groups - there are is no other grouping or sorts on the list, and i can't locate a correlation to another field to show why they would have to collections for the same person The Person or Group column sorts "from smallest to largest" as though it is a number field. The list is a task/activity tracking system we created custom for our needs.  We want to pull a weekly report, grouped by Assigned Person, but cannot get access to work.  We do not want to resort to anything more complex, as it takes a much longer process to have reports pulled by Chrystal or one of those types of applications.  And we cannot change out the field for something like a Choice column as the list already has a very large amount of content.  Can anyone assist? Is there a setting hiding somewhere that is causing the problem?

SSRS Report based on SSAS Cubes doesn't show NULL values correctly

I have a SSRS report which is based on an SSAS Cube. In the Cube the formating of numeric fields that NULL values are properly shown as NULL values. In the Cube Browser and Excel this is shown correctly. However when I design the report already the query against SSAS shows these fields as "0" instead of NULL. Is there a way to fix this or is this a bug ?

adding row group header after the fact

I am aware that when adding a row group, a prompt asks you if you want to add the header and footer.  On my report, all the groupings are already created and do not want to have to recreate them again;  how can I add just the row group header? I can't seem to find the option   Thanks!Javier Guillen

Why can I not group by calculated field in Date format?

After migrating to SP2010 Foundation, I've discovered that for some reason I can't group a list by a calculated date field. Ex: Create a list with a date column A. Create another column B with a simple calculated date of [A]+1 and use the field format type 'date' Modify view to group the list by column B.  You're list will load, but when you attempt to expand one of the groups you'll be greated with an exception error. Why?? Am I doing something wrong? Note: You can group fine if the data type for column B is anything except 'date' format, but I really need to group items by a calulated date. Ultimately, what I'm trying to do is group my list items by week by calculating the end of the week using a simple formula =[Must ship by]+7-WEEKDAY([Must ship by])  then I want to gropu by the [Must Ship by] column like I always did in SP 2007, but now it errors out.  I also wanted to create my own timesheet template since the Fab 40 templates aren't available for 2010, but I can't really do that effectively without being able to group timesheet entries by week.

Sum of Calulated field in a group error when containing a value $0

Hi, I have a group which sums the total of the calculated field with expression: =SUM(Fields!MTD_VAR_CY_v_LY_D.Value) If one of the value in the child row for Fields!MTD_VAR_CY_v_LY_D.Value is 0, the group will display #Error. Anyone knows why this is the case?

A customized EditForm.aspx page giving error because it has a "People and Group" field with a "Allow

My customized EditForm.aspx which has a "People and Group" column with the "Allow multiple selections" property as "Yes" was working fine until the Agusust cumulative update was applied into the MOSS server. Now it's giving me the error: "An unexpected error has occurred". Needless to say, when I change the "Allow multiple selections" property to "No", the customized EditForm.aspx page works fine.Forgetting whyMicrosoft introduced this error for now, is there a workaround that you are awre of?

Repeat Group Header on subsequent pages of the same group

Hi, I am using a free-form list. I need the group header row to repeat on every subsequent page corresponding to the same group. If the subsequent pages still contains footer data from the current group, I want to be able to repeat the header of that said group until the group data changes. I have 2 groups, both have header and footer and I also have one detail line. The header portion  that I need to repeat is actually inside the inner group2 header.  I've tried setting RepeatOnNewPage and FixedData to true for the static row group as suggested in many blogs about this issue to no avail. I have also tried setting KeepWithGroup to both Before and After, but nothing works. I am using BIDS for SSRS 2008
