Workflow notify

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :JQuery

I have one problem with my application. I don't know what should it call, but let me describe the situation.

The application have 2 form. Form 1, run on computer 1. Form 2 run on computer 2. Employee A input one record in form 1 and submit (save to database), and then that record display on form 2 immediately. I mean when something is done on form 1, then a message or signal is sent to form 2 (in another computer within network) and when form 2 received that message, it does the work respectively.

So what should it call, any suggestion for me, or the exactly keywork for google it  ?

Workflow to automatically notify if tasks are overdue?

Greetings all,

An intrepid manager in one of our departments has created an extensive list that she uses to assign tasks to various people throughout our organization.

Individuals are alerted whenever something is added for them to accomplish, but as many of you know, we all let our due dates lapse.

Now, she's asking for a way to automatically notify the assignee when the task become overdue - a poke - either once, or daily.

It seems that a workflow can accomplish this, but a workflow has two limitations:

1. It runs only when a specific item is updated, eg., an item would have to be updated every day for it to run

2. It runs for only a single item, e.g., a workflow won't run through all items in the library to check status

Is there any GUI way (we don't have programmers on staff) that we can accomplish this for her & her team?  (Auto notifications sent to assignees when tasks are overdue?)

Workflow Services: Visual Design of Workflows with WCF and WF 4

The .NET Framework 4 makes it easier than ever to implement WCF services using WF. We'll demonstrate just how easy it is by modeling a long-running, durable and instrumented workflow based on a real-world business case without having to write any code.

Foundations: Workflow Services for Local Communication

This month's column describes how to use WCF for communication between a workflow and a host application in Windows Workflow Foundation 3. This knowledge should help developers with their efforts using WF3 and prepare them for WF4, where WCF is the only abstraction over queues (referred to as "bookmarks" in WF4) that ships with the framework.

Foundations: Windows Workflow Design Patterns

Design patterns provide a common, repeatable approach to solving software development tasks, and many different patterns can describe how to accomplish a certain goal in code. When developers begin working with Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), they often ask about how to accomplish common tasks with the technology. This month's column discusses several design patterns used in WF.
