A Login Site for a Few Friends to Upload Pictures - Help Please

Good Day,

I am new to the ASP and MS Visual Web Developer.  So can we please keep this conversation in a ASP VB for Dummies Dialog!

I have
1 - Created a Registration Page using The CreateUserWizard in it's most basic form
2 - Created a Login Page using the Login Control in it's most basic form
3 - I created a folder on my IIS7 / ASP Hosting Account's Server called photos which is technically "~/photos" (if I am correct)
set that folder up for write permissions
4 - I have a page (uploadphoto.aspx) with a FileUpload control and a Button when clicked uploads a file (*.jpg) to the photos folder (I mentioned above).

So I have this working, and it's basic.  What I want to change, sounds simple, but yet I have no Idea on how to do it. Which is:

1a. When a Visitor creates a user name (at registration), i need a subfolder created under the photos folder that will be equal to the users login name
(example - I register as samcook, so now a folder named samcook will be created which would technically be "~/photos/samcook"

I will then build a web page that will include pictures from the samcook folder (this part I know how to do also)

Please help, I have been reading the forums for 2 days and still have no

Programmatically Upload Pictures to SharePoint Profile Picture Store using Powershell

I'm trying to create a powershell script that will bulk upload pictures to the SharePoint Profile Picture Store located in a "http://sp2010/my/User Photos/Profile Pictures".  I found Chris Johnson's blog post ( http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cjohnson/archive/2010/05/08/sharepoint-2010-office-2010-and-profile-pictures.aspx )  extremely useful.  However, the SPUtils.ps1 that is referenced on his site doesn't seem to support uploading to the "Profile Pictures" folder within the "User Photos" picture library at "http://sp2010/my/User Photos".  My account has full control of the "User Photos" picture library and the "Profile Pictures" folder, and I can upload to the "User Photos", root directory with no problems.  The file fails to upload to the "Profile Pictures" folder.

Currently my Powershell script processes a folder of pictures.  First, it pulls the file name and does some manipulations to retrieve the employee number of the employee.  Second, it performs an active directory search to get the employee's user name.  Third, it resizes the photo to match the small, medium, and large thumbnails generated by a traditional manual upload of a photo from the user's edit profile page.  After each creation of the resized picture it uploads the picture t

Upload a File to a SharePoint Document Library - Part I

The following helper class demonstrates a few techniques that allow documents to be uploaded to a SharePoint document library programmatically without using the API or a custom web service. You don't need to specify a document library name, and it will create any folders specified in the URL as required. File meta data will be updated if any properties are passed.

Multi File Upload Using JQuery!

How to transfer files between computer and mobile device using bluetooth

What is Bluetooth? How can I have it on my computer?

Bluetooth wireless technology is a communication technology that allows two devices to communicate wirelessly. Most of the notebooks are nowadays equipped with bluetooth. For those notebooks or computers that don't, you can use a bluetooth dongle to add the functionality and it just costs you around $5. Although higher price range bluetooth dongles are available but it makes no sense of buying them if you just plan to connect your mobile device to the computer. Look for one that has Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR (Enhance Data Rate) supporting speeds of upto 3Mbps and with Vista support. You can easily have one of that kind in just $5.

Setting up bluetooth to work on your computer

Just Insert the bluetooth dongle in the USB.
It should get detected by your Operating System and should be ready to use. In case it is just detected as a new hardware, you need to install drivers for it that came with your bluetooth dongle (You can try Google to find the drivers).
Once drivers are installed, a bluetooth notification icon will appear in your system tray.
Right Click on it to access Settings (This may vary with your bluetooth dongle).
Make sure you have turned Discovery On (It allow others to see your computer).
Switch On the bluetooth on the mobile device.

What are the options for handling file uploads to reduce the memory footprint?  Is there a way to upload in chunks?  Is there a way to stream upload directly to disk instead of loading entire file in server memory?
