Creating space for, but not showing, a progress bar in XAML

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :JQuery

I'd like to create a ProgressBar in XAML, but have it not be visible until I enable it in C# in response to something that takes a long time.

I've tried the properties IsVisible and IsLoaded, but the error says they're not writeable from XAML so when I run just the XAML, the progress bar is in motion (IsIndeterminate="true").

Is there a way to reserve space for, but not show, the ProgressBar in XAML? Or do I have to do it in C#? Would I set IsVisible to false after InitializeComponent?

Attendance column not showing up as field when creating new calendar item

I have a SharePoint calendar, with a little over a dozen columns (I have also added a couple extra columns). When adding/editing calendar events, I notice that the Attendance column is not showing up as a field. If I look in SP Designer, I see the column, Attendance, but it shows a blank Content Type (whereas most all the other columns have a Content Type of Event). Can someone please talk me through this? Not only do I need the Attendance column to be a field for a calendar event, but I have the same calendar on many other sites, so hopefully I can update the Content Type for the Attendance column to Event and solve my problem. Please advise.

Creating a Fixed-Length, Flat File, Space-Filled file

I need to create a Fixed-Length, Flat File, Space-Filled file. This is what I did:

1. Created a stored procedure with the fields using SPACE(#) so all the fields are the correct lenght.

2. Made a report.

3. Saved the report as Excel.

4. Save the Excel as 'Formatted Text Space Delimited'.

There are so many steps involved that I am wondering if there is a better way to create such a file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Creating a Fixed-Length, Flat File, Space-Filled file

I need to create a Fixed-Length, Space-Filled flat file.

I have a SQL query that uses SPACE(#) to make the fields that correct size.

I tried using reporting services and exporting to excel and saving to .prn, but that does not work because the maximum width is 240 and I have 350 characters per line.

I am fresh out of ideas. Send help!!!

Creating a web-part in sharepoint showing charts connected through a database

here's what I intend to do: 1) Import data from a database(through creating a connection to database) 2) create a graph or chart using the values from the database(in excel) 3) then import that chart to the sharepoint site as a web-part. My question is how to accomplish the task. (all the three steps) So, whenever the values are updated in the database, the sharepoint site will be automatically updated. Any help would be greatlly appreciated.

Creating your SharePoint Governance Plan

One of the most common questions that I get from prospects as I'm talking to them about the creation of a governance plan and process is what does it look like. In other words, there are materials available which describe what should be in a governance plan but there isn't a ton of guidance on what the process of creating a governance plan and process are.

Creating Paging for a Repeater Control

A common question is "How do I implement paging within a Repeater?" Although the beauty of the Repeater control is its flexibility, you're on your own for building most functions. ASP.NET 2.0 has included some new controls that provide paging, as does the DataGrid in ASP.NET 1.1. However, this tip shows you how to roll your own paging for a simple data viewer.

Creating an AJAX Repeater in ASP.NET MVC

The "TaskList" is a tried an true example of the most basic thing that you can do in any framework. Unfortunately, I had some problems finding a really good example of all the steps necessary to get a task list to work in ASP.NET MVC 1.0.

Creating a Generic Entity Framework 4.0 Repository

With .NET 4.0 right around the corner, I thought it would be cool to download Visual Studio 2010 beta 2 and start playing around with the next release of Entity Framework.

The initial release of Entity Framework came with a great deal of criticism. To make matters worse, there was a large uproar when it was rumored that Microsoft would be abandoning LINQ to SQL, in favor of Entity Framework. This was because, at the time, many developers felt Entity Framework was an inferior technology to LINQ to SQL. To set things right, Microsoft proactively moved forward with improving Entity Framework, in time for the 4.0 release of the .NET Framework. This is good news because my initial impressions, so far, have been nothing but positive.

Creating a Simple Class in C#

The second article in the C# Object-Oriented Programming tutorial describes how classes are created in C# and how behaviour, in the form of publicly visible and private, hidden methods can be added. This demonstrates some of the uses of encapsulation

Creating SharePoint items with CreateItemActivity

Instead of creating new list items from code in your workflow you can use CreateItemActivity. CreateItemActivity can be used for creating list items or files. Properties of interest for this activity are the following (most of them are self-explanatory):

Creating an Excel Spreadsheet programmatically using VB.NET

The Interoperability services make it very easy to work with COM Capable Applications such as Word and Excel. This article reveals using Excel from a managed application. Excel is the spreadsheet component of Microsoft Office 2000. The majority of Excel programmatic functionality is exposed through Automation via the type library Excel9.olb. The intention of this article is to express that a managed application can interrelate with Excel as a COM server.
