We are going live with our new site on internet shortly and we wnat to do an 301 redirect from old url to our new url. e.g. our url
http://www.abc.com/def/ and the new url
http://www.abc.com/efg/klm/zzz.aspx [The domain is same]. It will raise a 404 if we are not set the 301 redirect.
Please let me know how can we do this?
My users are having an issue accessing their mysites. When they go to the main portal page or any other site and click the link at the top right of the page to go to their Mysite they are thrown into an endless authentication loop. If they cancel
out of the loop the URL in the address bar is for http://mossserver/_layouts/MySites.aspx
For a user to successfully get to their myself they need to enter the full url like http://mossserver/personal/username/default.aspx
Now, I know somewhat how this happened. It resulted from me trying to delete a user's mysite and I apparently did it wrong but I'm not sure what I did. It almost seems like I deleted a redirect page or something...
Looking for any ideas.
I have a SharePoint server that works perfectly well internally. When Accessing it from home, users do not get the link to mysite. I have done some reading around (specifically this article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288609(office.12).aspx) and wondered if this was to do with the AAM settings. However, many of the articles I have read relate
to issues where the link is there but doesn't work. I haven't been able to find anything that directly refers to a missing link. I am at a loss as to what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I want to redirect to other page after check in the document in the document library. So I coded in ItemCheckedIn event.
But the problem was raised:
Can anyone help?Thx.
I setting up MySite on SharePoint 2010 for my organization. MySite is our first priority to get up and going. Everything is installed and working.
- SharePoint installed
- Active Directory is synced
When I browse around for users in the search bar, everything looks fine. I can use the organization chart to browse up and down, and their names is all correct.
When a user connects to MySite for the first time, the MySite is obviously created and the user can start to add content and so on.
But - After the user logged in for the first time, his Displayname (property collected from AD) shows as "domainname/username"
After we tried and tested a couple of users and they logged in, the organization chart is falling apart, and the displaynames are all changed to domainname/username.
Anyone know what causes this?
While logged in as a User in Sharepoint 2010, if I navigate to the main page of our Sharepoint (http://sharepoint) it asks for my username and password but never actually logs on (stuck in a loop). If I navigate straight to http://sharepoint/default.aspx,
it works fine.
If I'm logged in as the System Account admin, then navigating to http://sharepoint redirects me automatically to /default.aspx.

Hi, my sharepoint installation seems to be broken
If I navigate to http://mysite/sites/site1 it does not redirect to http://mysite/sites/site1/default.aspx
It does not work for any site.ÃÂ Any ideas on how to fix it?ÃÂ
As I understand it, redirecting from TMG is just a simple matter of creating a rule that takes higher priority than the Sharepoint publishing rule. This rule will deny all http requests and redirect them to the correct https url. I have done this and
edited my SSL listener to redirect all HTTP traffic to HTTPS.
I have already done this successfully with OWA but for some reason redirecting Sharepoint traffic results in a redirect loop. Configuration of both rules, as far as I know, is exactly the same with the exception of the form of authentication but I don't
think that should make a difference. I'm at a loss. Could it be something on the sharepoint side?
We come across an error stating "An unknown user profile error has occurred. Try recreating this user profile or updating
this user profile from the directory service to resolve this problem".
This scenario is observed only for a particular account. The User has got 3 profiles with different accounts.
Problem seems to be only on Production server while on PreProduction & Test server its working fine.
We have even tried deleting the user profile and recreate, but still the account is not accepting any profile changes. Also checked in the logs files but it didn't give any clue for the issue.
Is there any specific reason for this behaviour?
In my Portal i have MySites some where around 15000 where in every day i need to auto generate MySites usage report in excel format.
