Lost Need Help on Installing Commerce 2009 on Sharepoint 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

New to Technet I am having nothing but problem installing the 2007 (Upgrade 2009) installtion of commerce server. I am trying to

get a store up for a customer on one of there sites hosted on a sharepoint 2010. I installed the 2007 on a fully patches sharepoint 2010 as of april. Ran the CS2009-KB975567-x86 before installing the 2009 upgrade. Run the commerce 2009 sharpooint configuration and I get failed lights. I am stumped, looking for the right pieces. My only suspicion right now is "CS2009-KB975567-x86" on a 2008 R2 maybe there is  a 64bit version.

After Installing SharePoint Foundation 2010, trying to open site gives 404 error in browser

I had this as reply on a thread about migrating from WSS 3.0 to SFS 2010. But I have completed all the steps with the modified documentation, but the browser delivers an error 404 when I try to open the site I created.  Same thing happens if I go at it via https, but first I get a certificate warning error (using the IP instead of the FQDN) and then being prompted for credentials.

I am completely stumped at what else to look at.  Any help in gathering information to get help is also appreciated.

Environment:  SBS 2008, SFS 2010, SQL Express 2008.  Rest of the IIS sites continue to function normally and I can get to the management site ok.  Although after the install, I had to go into application pool and change the service account from the domain admin (it defaulted to that) to networkservice account, otherwise I got a 503.  Same thing happened on the site I created until I changed the service account.  Now just a 404.

Installing/Configuring Exchange 2010 to Accomodate Sharepoint 2007

My company is in the process of installing Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.  I am interested in ideas of how best to configure Exchange 2010 so that SharePoint 2007 is in position to take optimal advantage of the features offered by Exchange 2010.  Any feedback on this would be helpful.  Thanks.

Stuck installing Sharepoint 2010 - Config Wizard saying Cannot connect to database master

Hi all

I have setup 2 servers in hyper-v.
SERVER-SHP = Sharepoint 2010
both running on windows server 2008 R2.
Both servers are joined to the same domain, have fixed ip addresses and can ping each other.

When I get to the part in Sharepoint 2010 setup where I'm runnng "Sharepoint Products Configuration Wizard" where I specify the database server and name and username and password I get the following error which I can't get past "Cannot connect to database master at SQL server at SERVER-SQL. The database might not exist, or the current user does not have permission to connect to it."

I have read the following link and followed it but the problem remains

I don't see where it is falling over as the username and password is the domain administrator one (have also tried the spAdmin) mentioned to setup in the above link. And it says at the notes at the top of the page that if the database (SharePoint_Co

Application Pools when is it okay to share them when installing SharePoint 2010 in production

Hi, I read the MS stuff stating that running ten Application pools (not web apps) on a server is roughly about the maximum you should have running on a server (okay it alls depends on the amount of RAM and the actual box) but my question is as such, when installing SP 2010 and all the services, for instance for a client and they want the services configured whether they are going to use them or not. You could end up with over well over 10 application pools, so what services are okay to share an application pool and which should have have their own application pool. Is there some info out there on best practice remember i am asking this for production builds not test as I see that the Stand Alone SP2010 Wizard Installation runs all the services under the same application pool.

Some guidence or info would be appreciated. Thanks

Installing Sharepoint 2010 on a single machine

Hi guys,
For demo purpose i want it to install Sharepoint 2010 on a single machine (physical), so i here is how i proceeded:
  • Install windows server 2008 r2
  • Install SQL 2008 r2
  • Install Active directory
  • Install Sharepoint 2010
So after installing Prerequistes i launched the installation of Sharepoint 2010 with SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard, when i'm in the screen Specify Configuration Database Settings and i fill up the Database Access Account wich is an administrator Account, i have this message "The user name or password is incorrect" and it's impossible to me to move forward.
The user i'm using is an administrator account it has access to SQL server and it's defined on the AD of the local machine.
No matter the user i 'm using although it have access to SQL and defined as administrator i always receive the message saying username or password are incorrect.
I also tried to run this cmdlet New-SPConfigurationDatabase Same thing complaining about the user name and password .
i need to install the AD in the same machine because the main purpose of this demo is to show social feature capabilities.
Thank you for helping me to resolve this issue!!

Office 2010 required before upgrading or installing SharePoint Foundation 2010??

Is it required now to upgrade to SharePoint 2010 Foundation etc. first before using Office 2010 with SharePoint??

Or can Office 2010 work in even a limited manner with WSS 3.0??

Thank you, Tom

Installing Sharepoint 2010 Language Packs on Windows 7

I wanted to install language packs on top of Sharepoint 2010 already installed on my Windows 7 laptop but couldnt do so. Looks like its not supported. I checked some forums/blogs and some suggested to extract the language packs and add the AllowWindowsClientInstall line in the config xml but that also didnt work. I checked technet download links and it clearly says that the language packs applies to only Windows Server 2008 (Win2K8) or Win2K8 R2.

Any workarounds or separate download links from microsoft on this?

Short Overview of SharePoint Features in Visual Studio 2010

As you probably know, Visual Studio 2010 was announced earlier this week and it contains a lot of cool features and project templates for SharePoint developers. Below is a short overview for some of the SharePoint development related features and project templates.

How to get more information about the exceptions that can happen in SharePoint 2010 projects?

In case there is an exception anywhere in the SharePoint 2010 project (most common place an exception would happen is during deployment of your SharePoint project, custom deployment configuration or custom deployment steps), there's a registry key EnableDiagnostics available for you to use.
