We are getting "HTTP 500 - internal server error"
upon opening list attachments. The list attachments are added programmatically to the list item.
This doesn't happen for all the items in the list, but only for few items.
There is no error in the SharePoint logs and the event viewer.
Has anyone encountered this issue/error?
using vb.net/asp.net 2005
when a user enters a bad email I am doing a check on this and throwing an exception message as follows, this works fine on the test site but for some reason the same code on the live site gives a "internal server error" (http code 500). The code below:
If isThisEmailValid(strEmailThatTheUserEntered) Then
Throw New Exception("You entered a bad email address.")
as always, thanks for your feedback
We are migrating from Windows Server 2003 / IIS6 to Windows Server 2008 (32-bit) / IIS7 and I am having trouble getting our OLAP HTTP access re-established. I had this working fine under IIS6 but am now getting the error "HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal
Server Error" when attempting to access msmdpump.dll via a browser.
Our existing Win2003 server emits a blob of useful XML when you access the dll via a browser, the new Win2008 server just issues a HTTP 500 error. Obviously when I get around this error we'll be using standard OLAP clients like Excel and Report Builder
I have followed these instructions:
The Windows Event Logs contain no errors relating to the failed attempts. I temporarily configured Failed Request Tracing and got a couple of traces of the error occurring. The most pertinent thing I could find in the FRT was:
Since couple days ago, I am facing a problem ' HTTP/1.1 500 Intenal Server Error' while I want to create a new project of Visual Studio .NET.
It's running on VS 2003 which is quite old now rather than VS 2010 already came out.
I've tried to re-installed the aspnet account by running 'aspnet_regiis -i' and then reset the iis, and the result is nothing
I also tried to reinstall the IIS and VS 2003. And currently I'm still facing the same problem.
Guys, please kindly help me to solve this problem.
your comment and help are appreciated.

I have a serious problem that cannot be solved by googling around the keywords below: sharepoint, moss 2007, reporting service, ssrs 2008, rendering, internal server error, ....
The error is;
"An error occurred during client rendering. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. "
Everything is O.K.;
* When I render the report from the REPORTSERVER (http://localhost/ReportServer) * When the reports are scheduled to be sent by the reporting service (planned via MOSS 2007)ÃÂ
But if I open (render) the RDL file from the sharepoint REPORTS LIBRARY interface, all of the reports fail with that internal error message above.ÃÂ
It is weird also that parametrized reports are displayed without errors although the parameters are queried from a sql dataset. But I got the error when rendering the report after I've chosen a parameterÃÂ and order "apply/report"...
Possible causes how I met that error may be;
After I have installed (then uninstalled) AJAX extensions After I have re-configured IIS Web Service Extensions list items
Possible solution alternatives I've found;
I've found a solution on MSDN replying a similar issue with an ideal cause of the error but an evreka answer but no sol
