contact details on contact page

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#
I have created a contact page for our company using SharePoint Designer and we have SharePoint 2007.  The contact page is a simple HTML table with everybody's names linking to their profile page.  I would like to instead display their contact names with the offline/online indicator and show their contact numbers below their names.  When I try to insert the web part into the HTML table of course the table is messed up.  I am a noob at SharePoint, but I have been thrown into this :) any help would be appreciated.

Contact Details Web Part

The Contact Details Web Part image is limited to a width of 100px.  The images for users that I have added to Sharepoint are 140px x 140px, so the right hand side 40px are cut off the image.  Is there an easy way to increase this, as it doesn't seem to be controled by a style, Cheers Dan

Contact Details web parts on pages won't show any more than 7 pictures

For each new person that is added to a company department, we add a contact details webpart and their picture to the departmental page. We can't seem to add any more than that, the contact details webpart and their name shows up, but no picture. The other 7 pictures do continue to show up. Is there a limitation on the contact details webpart?

Contact Details/MySite Profile Picture confusion

Hi all

Little bit confused, wonder if anyone can start to point me in the right direction.

We have a client, 2 MOSS 2007 farms, 2 SSPs.

The SSP on Farm B has only ever linked to mysite - never consumed services

At present, user image URLs are manually entered under the user profile.

On farm B's site collections, every one has 2 contact details web parts on the front page.

Some site collections retrieve the full dataset with picture - others might only get the name/job title, and in some cases, just a DOMAIN\username is shown (Although on other site collections it's correctly filled)

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Also -- if the farm consumed Farm A's details - would I still be able to keep a seperate search index from Farm B, but have things like the profile picture auto filled to people's profiles?

How can I add a contact-button to a wiki homepage and page layout?

I created an Enterprise Wiki using Sharepoint Server 2010 and I want to add a contact-button on both the wiki homepage and the page layout (for other wikipages). Can anyone tell me how to add this contact-button in Sharepoint Designer 2010?

Clicking the contact-button sends the user to an e-mailform, via which they can contact the administrator. Is there information available about how to create an e-mail form (page) in Sharepoint 2010?

(Please also see: "How can I add a search box to a wiki homepage?" http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/sharepoint2010customization/thread/748549e2-5c4c-4971-b6f1-0105b57e1751)

Thanks a lot,

Contact Selector - Form tab index is lost after selector resolves names on blur

I'm working with an InfoPath2007 form developed to be filled-out through the browser on a SharePoint 2007 site, and I'm testing using Internet Explorer 7.  It's a straight-forward form, with a number of text fields and two Contact Selector controls.

The issue I'm encountering is with the Contact Selector control, where if the actor only enters a partial name into the text-field and then TABs away from the control the form will perform its auto-postback to look-up and resolve the partial name (showing the name resolution dialog is necessary), and afterward the actor's cursor is focused on the next field in the form.  The actor can type text into the focused field, but any subsequent pressing of the TAB key returns the actor's focus to the browser's ADDRESS bar, which is incorrect as it should proceed to the next field in the form.  I understand that the Contact Selector needs to perform its postback to perform the name resolution (so that there is no way through the InfoPath form designer to disable postbacks for the control), but why does the browser not know how to continue the TAB order of the fields on the form even when a field has focus?

Best regex for email body on contact form?

I'm not sure the best way to do a regex for the body section of an email contact form.  I want to use the regex to prevent more than 150 characters from being entered.  I assume this is sufficient, I may need more.  I also want it to help guard against sql injection attacks. The more I think about it the more characters I can think of that should be allowed.  I want to allow punctuation since it's for an email and people should be using full sentences.  These are some other things that make sense to allow: " , ', : , ; , $ , . , ! , ? , - , _ , @ , & , ( , ). They cover situations when someone may put an email address or phone number in the body section for the email.  I also want to allow letters and numbers.    I'm not sure if it's best to allow the characters I mentioned or not allow characters that pose a potential threat.  I think allowing the ones I want is the best way, but I'm not sure.  Can someone please give an example and/or suggestions?  Are there other characters that should be allowed?  I don't have much yet: "^(?i)[a-z0-9\s]{1,150}$"

Whom to contact if OEM license cannot be activated?

Hi everoyne, This past weekend our only server had to be reinstalled due to a disk crash. Since I inherited this network without any documentation whatsoever, nor any software CDs. I had no other choice but make use of what I had at hand:  A set of Win  2003 Std edition from those packs that Microsoft provides to MOLP customers, I lent it from a friend. I did the install and did a restore, thank God it worked. My question is the about the Windows Server 2003 Std Edition License key code on the server side. This server was bought as OEM, to my understanding, since there is a 25-digit license product key sticker on this Dell PowerEdge 1800.During the installation I used this product key. After installation finished I received the message that I needed to type in another activation key because the key I used had been activated already. I chose to activate the key through the Internet. never chose to call Microsoft. What can I do to fix this? I'm running on a 30 days trial right now. Thanks in advanced!!!

Contact Form Issues

I was hoping someone could assist with this issue I am experiencing.  I have a contact form on my ASP.net page.  Everything works great, but I keep getting blank messages sent to my email address.  It seems to be some sort of SPAM?  Could someone please tell me why this is happening, and what I would need to do to prevent it from happening in the future?

Automatically populating Contact Selector not working in Form Services

Hi,I'm currently working on a form where i wan't to automatically populate a contact selector control with a users manager. I've got the managers userid, called the ResolvePrincipal webservice provided by sharpoint, and set all the values in the contact selector with the correct values. When previewing it works perfectly however when i move the form to Form Services it won't work.I've tried setting it via rules: i.e. on the change of a textbox write the manager values to the contact selector.I've tried setting the default values of the contact selector to fields where i write the manager values.I've tried setting it through code i.e. SelectSingleNode() and SetValue() for each of the fields in the contact selector. All of which work fine in preview mode but will not work in Form Services, UNLESS the contact selector already has a user in it. So if the contact selector is blank it won't work, however as soon as i manually select a user then try using any of the previously mentioned methods of setting the control it works. While using code i get a nullreferenceexception which leads me to think that possibly when theres no user in the control the xml nodes representing the AccountId, DisplayName, AccountType don't exit???? TO throw another spanner in the works, on the very odd occasion it will work in Form Services as expected, after celebrating and trying again it returns

Pass exception details to custom error page.

Hi All, I created a custom error page and update using webApp.UpdateMappedPage(SPWebApplication.SPCustomPage.Error, CustomErrorPage). Its working fine and my custom error page is show if error is occurred. OR We redirect using SPUtility.RedirectToErrorPage("my message"); But I am not able to find my exception details at my custom error page. Is there any way to pass the exception details and other custom information to custom error page?
