The popularity of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 led Microsoft to tightly integrate the next SharePoint version, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, with its ASP.NET 2.0 WebPart framework. Problem Integration SQL Reporting Service 2005 and SharePoint 2007

Hello, I'm trying to make our SQL Reports available on our SharePoint report center. I have SQL 2005 (sp3) report server that resides on a different server than our SharePoint 2007 server. So in our SRS Configuration Tool, we changed the database mode for SharePoint integration (before, we only had it in native mode), so we created a new database for this SharePoint Integration type. Next, I installed the Report Server Add-in for SharePoint 2007 server and it was successful. However when configuring the Report Server, we got stuck at the step "Grant Database Access". For some reason we keep getting error message "Named instance not found" We already installed Service Pack 3 on the Report Server... I heard that the problem is because the mismatched version between the Report Server Add-in in SharePoint and the SQL RS version... but I don't think this is the case for us. Do we need to install WSS on our Report Server too?     Another question: We already integrate our Report Server with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. However I see that when the Report Server is in the SharePoint Integration mode, all the reports in CRM don't work (because Report Manager is no longer available in this mode). Do you think it would be the best practice to install a copy of Report Server instance in our SharePoint 2007 server? Thank you, greatly appreciate all your hel

Sharepoint 2010 integration with Office 2010, 2007,2003

hi, i am looking, if some one know about the details or link, for the details about the Sharepoint 2010 integration with Office 2003, 2007 and 2010 versions. We will be migrate in couple of months to 2010 but we have mixed flavor of the office version in our environment. We have 2003, 2007 and 2010. Is their any blog post or anyone know what is now possible with 2010 but not in the 2007 or 2003. like a comparison chart.   thanks WSi am at entry level administrator

SSRS SP1 and Sharepoint 2007 build 6529 Integration

Scenario is single server (VM for dev)

Windows Server 2008 SP2 x86
Sharepoint 2007 build 6529
SQL Server 2008 w/SP1 integrated, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS

Kerberos configured for all Sharepoint services and working, SPNs set on machine account for kernel mode auth

SSRS configured to use service acct

get an error occurred during client rendering.  I also cannot get to the SSRS web service url .../ReportServer

Now i switch the account to networkservice, which contains the spn in AD as a sideeffect, i get the .../ReportServer page, but still the same error in MOSS.  Am i missing something?  I have read articles that state that using NetworkService on a single server with MOSS and SSRS is not supported as that account is explicitly denied access, which ironically both services could use the SPN, but how would i configure SSRS's service account?  also, i see the subsite in MOSS .../ReportServer in both scenarios, however because it's MOSS i am unsure if this is the correct behavior as everything i have seen suggests that a new IIS site needs to be created for SSRS.  If this is the case, where is the integration point in MOSS?

Cannot open a page with 2 webparts connected after migration from Sharepoint 2007 - bug identified

Hi all,
I'm following a migration project from Sharepoint 2007 to Sharepoint 2010 (with August's Cumulative Update). I'm using the attach databases approach.

On Sharepoint 2010, when I try to open the default.aspx page of a Sharepoint Website containing 2 webpart connected I receive "An unexpected error has occurred" message.

The 2 webparts are standard Sharepoint webpart, a Text Filter WP that sends the value to Business Data List WP

Using the Correlation ID in Sharepoint Log we can see these two interesting lines:

Sharepoint 2007 integration with External Systems

Hi,

We are looking to explorer different options for integrating our MOSS 2007 set up with an external System. The initial goal is to have SSO implemented. SharePoint should be able to pass on the credentials to the external system that authenticate and grant access depending on the user rights.

Please suggest.

Writing Custom Web Parts for SharePoint 2007

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, SharePoint 2007 is built on top of ASP.NET 2.0, which means you can now use ASP.NET 2.0 features (Forms Authentication, Master Pages, Membership, Site Navigation, New Data Controls, etc) when building SharePoint sites. This is true for both the new Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 version (which will be a free download) as well as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (which costs money).
