Custom SSIS Data Flow Component Not Showing in Toolbox or GAC

Hello - I have created a very simple data flow component for SSIS (Actually, I am following this example:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1C2A7DD2-3EC3-4641-9407-A5A337BEA7D3&displaylang=en).  However, when I register the DLL to the GAC, I am unable to find the assembly in C:\Windows\Assembly - even though the GACUTIL says "Assembly Registered Successfully".  Furthermore, after copying the DLL to the PipelineComponents folder for SSIS (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\PipelineComponents), it does not show in the "Choose Items . . ." dialog box of SSIS.   I am running SQL Server 2008 Dev edition, Visual Studio 2010 with .NET 4.0, and Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition.  Any assistance/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

trying to use custom assembly with script task in SSIS 2008 - can't find correct version of GACUtil

I am trying to use a custom assembly (compiled with VS 2005 framework 2.0) with SSIS 2008.  I understand that I need to put this Assembly in the GAC.  I initially attempted to do this using the GACUtil, but I apparently only have version 1.1 of GACUtil intalled on my development PC.  Shouldn't version 2.0 have been installed as part of VS 2005?

So I then tried simply copying the dll into the GAC folder using windows explorer.  Well, the dll is now visibly in the GAC folder, but I cannot see it from either VS 2005 or BIDS 2008.  Does that mean I do need to use GACUtil 2.0 or higher to install the DLL into the GAC?  If so, is there any place on the Web that I can download it?

Stress Testing: Custom LoadGenerator Tool Identifies the Issues Your Application Faces Under Stress

It's easy to postpone stress testing when developing an application, and it's easy to forgo it altogether. Having an easy-to-use framework at your fingertips to conduct these tests can make the task far less painful. This article walks you through an application that eases the task of generating load for a variety of layers within an application.

Can't find my datacontext in custom fieldtemplate

I am trying to implement sjnaughton's ChildrenGrid (a Dynamic Data FieldTemplate that displays foreign key child rows...) ... I am having problems at runtime, though. The following call in my code:

table = GridDataSource.GetTable();

Is failing with the error: System.Web.HttpException: Could not load type 'ModelDataContext'.

ModelDataContext is indeed the name of my .dbml file... I can declare a local instance of this class and that works fine,something like

var t = new ModelDataContext();

No exception. And the rest of my Dynamic Data classes work fine. I am trying to get the table from a griddatasource, and I know I am setting the context properly on this line

GridDataSource.ContextTypeName = metaChildColumn.ChildTable.DataContextType.Name;

I have debugged and the string is set to "ModelDataContext" just fine. I tried appending the full namespace for my context, like "MyApp.App_Code.ModelDataContext", but then I get an ambiguous assembly name... but I only have one ModelDAtaContext... I cleaned out my project, deleted ASP.NET temp folder files, etc. Still, no dice. Here is the code in full context:

using System;
using System.Data;
using System.Configuration;
using System.

Problem in Custom Control Unable to find Control To Validate Property

I make a custome control by taking a TextBox and A Regular Expression Validator.When i Use this on a .aspx page it works fine.But when i use this on .ascx page and dynamically load user control on a place holder in .aspx page it through an Error

Unable to find control id '_ctl0:txtEmail' referenced by the 'ControlToValidate' property of '_ctl0:txtEmailRequired'

My Custome control Code is this"--

public class EmailValidator:System.Web.UI.Control, INamingContainer{

private System.Web.UI.WebControls.TextBox textBox;

private System.Web.UI.WebControls.RegularExpressionValidator regularExpressionValidator;

public EmailValidator(){

textBox = new TextBox();

regularExpressionValidator = new RegularExpressionValidator();

IsErrorTextBelow = true;

IsRequired = false;

Issues with SSIS and SQL 2008 - Integration services not running

Hey guys, I installed SQL 2008 with complete BI studio including Integration Services. When i check in my services - i cant see my integraiton services in there When i try to connect to Integration Service using localhost, I cant connect it And when i try to run setup of SQL 2008 - It shows that Integration Services already installed and that what i checked when i fetched my Installation tool report from SQL Server to verify i have it installed. Why can i access Integration services, if i already have it, Please suggest with ideas, checks i can make to ensure every setting is in place. Thanks. Would appreciate for quick response.

Output parameters in OLEDB Command component - SSIS 2008

I have a package that I developed in SSIS 2005 and recently ported to 2008. Everything runs great except an OLE DB Command component that calls a stored procedure that uses output parameters. When I try to run this, I get this error: Error: 0xC0202009 at Data Flow Task, OLE DB Command [100]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "Syntax error, permission violation, or other nonspecific error". Error: 0xC004701A at Data Flow Task, SSIS.Pipeline: component "OLE DB Command" (100) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202009. When I do the same thing in SSIS2005, it works fine. So I setup a new package with 1 data flow. In that data flow, I added a source component, an OLE DB Command, and a destination.  I then tested this with a stored procedure that took no parameters. It worked fine. I then tested it with a stored procedure with 1 parameter defined as OUTPUT. This generated the error.   Is there an issue with output parameters in an OLE DB Command in SSIS 2008?   Thanks!http://bobp1339.blogspot.com

Custom component Table name dynamic table name

Hi All How to i call the table dynamiclly in to C# class library. I can able to call the columns names.. but i unable to call the table name.. please suggest it Example:   IDTSOutputColumn100 column = output.OutputColumnCollection[x]; columnInfos[x] = new ColumnInfo(); columnInfos[x].columnName = column.Name; columnInfos[x].Column_reference = column.CustomPropertyCollection[ "Column_reference"].Value.ToString(); columnInfos[x].bufferColumnIndex = BufferManager.FindColumnByLineageID(input.Buffer, column.LineageID); columnInfos[x].lineageID = column.LineageID;   geting the columns names .. how to i get table name...?? Custom DLL vs Developed Component

OK, so I had the barcode issue a few days ago. Edges of bars are being blurred. So, if I make a component, will this business go away? Do I get passed a graphics object that I draw on, or what? I need to make sure that I don't waste 5 days of effort and frustration, and wind up with the same mishmash.

Issues with running SSIS packages programmatically

Hi, I have spent days trying to solve this problem and still stuck with this and I have posted some questions already in forums, but didn't get satisfactory answers. I am trying to be more clear this time and hope to get a better answer. I have gone through this article already http://blogs.msdn.com/b/michen/archive/2007/03/22/running-ssis-package-programmatically.aspx and here are my issues (I need to run the SSIS package from ASP.NET) option 1 is not suitable for me, because it may recycle worker process if it consumes memory option 2 is also not suitable because of security issues in creating a new process and passing the context to new process looks very complicated for me (according to the support article) option 3 is not suitable because using SQL Server Agent to run SSIS package is not allowed by the company I am working for(I guesss it requires installation of db engine on application server, not sure). but SSIS is installed on the application server. option 4&5 will have the same issues as options 1&2. I guess the only option left now is to create a windows service and start the service from ASP.NET. but will this allow running multiple packages in parallel? OR is there a better alternate solution for this? please let me know. Thanks.

Accessing ActiveX Component functionality from SSIS

Hi I have my SSIS Package, from which I need to access the functionality of an external application.  The external application have an API exposed in form of ActiveX Component.  I have to access that ActiveX components. Now, how to have that ActiveX components exposed to my SSIS package? What are the steps to access that ActiveX component ? Request you to reply at the earliest as this is a critical requirement.  Please note that I am very new to SSIS technology.

Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts and related assemblies to develop custom ssis task are missing

Hi All, I tried to develop a simple ssis task but the problem that I can't refer the necessary assemblies like Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime And also Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap Microsoft.Sqlserver.DTSRuntimeWrap Microsoft.Sqlserver.ManagedDTS Microsoft.SqlServer.PipelineHost What is certan that they aren't installed within the GAC in my case, so where could I find them? I have SQL server 2008 entrprise edition Other question, should I use Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Design and  Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS which are missed too, or they are part of the 2005 version only Thank you   The complexity resides in the simplicity

SSIS Excel Connection Manager Data Type Conversion Issues with SS Agent Job

Hi All! I have an issue I've been trying to fix but can't seem to figure it out. I was hoping a kind person would point me in the right direction. :o) I have an SSIS package that uses an excel connection manager source, and I want to run this package through a job scheduled in the SQL server agent. The data types for the excel file fields are 2 (DT_WSTR) and 5 (DT_R8). When I run the package directly through the SSIS package (VS solution) all of the data fields are properly imported into the database table. But...when I run this package through the SQL server agent job, ONLY the string (DT_WSTR) fields in each row are being imported, all of the float fields are imported as NULL. I set the data types for these float fields as "float" in the SQL server import table (data type). Even though the excel source float fields are indicating a type of DT_R8 in the excel connection manager and I set the data types in the SQL server table to "float", I also used the data conversion component and set the type to "float" as a fail-safe. I guess I should add to that the data access mode in the excel connection manager is using a custom code to select only those columns that I needed and to trim rows that I didn't need. Here's my code that I have in the excel source editor: select f1, f2, f3, f5, f6, f7, f8 from [mdo$] where f2 <> 'Rep Name'

SSIS script component bugs at around 10k rows

I'm trying to load a dimension table from a tab delimited file to a parent-child table. I have made a script like this: public override void Input0_ProcessInputRow(Input0Buffer Row) { String level0 = null, level1 = null, level2 = null, level3 = null, level4 = null, level5 = null; while (!Row.EndOfRowset()) { if (Row.Description_IsNull || Row.Description == "") { if (!Row.NextRow()) break; continue; } if (!Row.Level0_IsNull) { Row.ID = Row.Level0; Row.ParentID = null; level0 = Row.Level0; Row.Description = Row.Description; } else if (!Row.Level1_IsNull) { Row.ID = Row.Level1; Row.ParentID = level0; level1 = Row.Level1; Row.Description = Row.Description; } else if (!Row.Level2_IsNull) { Row.ID = Row.Level2; Row.ParentID = level1; level2 = Row.Level2; Row.Description = Row.Description; } else if (!Row.Level3_IsNull) { Row.ID = Row.Level3; Row.ParentID = level2; level3 = Row.Level3; Row.Description = Row.Description; } else if (!Row.Level4_IsNull) { Row.ID = Row.Level4; Row.ParentID = level3; level4 = Row.Level4; Row.Description = Row.Description; } else if (!Row.Level5_IsNull) { Row.ID = Row.Level5; Row.ParentID = level4; level5

SQL Server 2008 Script Componant Error - [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: component "Script Comp Name" (48) fa

Hi All,   I am facing one strange issue in SSIS 2008. I have developed one SSIS package which is importing excel data into SQL Server 2008. This Package contains some Scirpt componants. This package is working fine on Windows XP machine but when I am trying to run on Windows 2003 server it gives me error "[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: component "SCR RDSTableRelation" (48) failed the post-execute phase and returned error code 0x80004002". Surprising thing is that if on windows server 2003server  if I drag a new script componat and paste the previous script code itself then it works fine. Even if I copy-paste the existing script componant and give source-destination connectino to this new script componant then also it works.
