two user edit infopath form same time.

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

infopath form with 2 field. Field1 and Field 2.

User 1 open the form and fill in Field1 ,but not yet click submit.

User 2 open the form and fill in Field2.

User 2 click submit. User 2 open the form and see the value of Field2.

User 1 click submit.

When open the infopath form, Field 1 was there ,but Field 2 was not. It is because xml of User 1 override xml of user 2.

On the submit event, i just basiclly do Dataconnections["SharePoint Library Submit"].Execute().

How to get around this?

Using InfoPath Repeating Table in Task Edit form

I need to develop an InfoPath Task Edit form. The form will be used for the approval of the expense reports. I want the users to see the content of the expense report directly on the InfoPath form without clicking on the link and viewing it in a separate window.

I wonder if I can stick the expense report data which is a list into the extended properties of the task and then bind it to InfoPath Repeating Table?

Infopath form timesheet question on rounding time and using code

We have a timesheet form that has 4 time fields:  Start Time, End Time, Actual Time and Billable Time.

Our Start Time, End Time and Actual Time buttons and field calculations work just fine, but we want the 4th field to calculate the billable time by rounding UP to the quarter-hour.

For example:

Start Time - 9:00am

End Time - 11:20am

Actual Time -  2:20

Billable Time - 2:30 (or 2h30min)

I'm new to Infopath and not sure how we would accomplish this.  What type of code would I need and can I even use code on that Billable Time field to accomplish this?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

New/Edit Default Form Link for InfoPath Created Forms

I've created 2 forms using InfoPath (Edit & New).  Both forms publish correctly, however I would like the "New" form to display by default when a user creates a New list item, and the "Edit" form to display (by default) when a user attempts to Edit an existing item.

Currently, Each form is available, but the New Form displays by default for either action.  The get the Edit form, the user has to select the the Edit form from the View dropdown box.  I'd really rather not have the dropdown box at all, and simply open the correct form per the action requested by the user.

Edit a Microsoft InfoPath Form in SharePoint Datasheet view

Hello- I created a form in Microsoft InfoPath 2003 then published the form in Microsoft SharePoint 2007. I then populated the form with test data and submitted it. I would like to know if the "Edit in Datasheet" under Actions will allow me to edit a submitted Microsoft InfoPath form in SharePoint.  I have administrative rights to the SharePoint site however when I review my sample submission in datasheet view, it indicates in the right corner, "Read Only. Am I doing something wrong or is there no capability to "Edit in Datasheet" for 2003 InfoPath forms?  I have used both SharePoint and InfoPath for a few years but am no expert by any means.  Is there a simple solution to this question?  Will progamming be involved?  If so, is there a link available to walk me through the process.  The key is that individuals must be able to edit their submitted form using a datasheet view.  If the end user makes any changes within the datasheet view, those changes should also update the original form that was populated.

The trial period for this product has expired - When trying to edit an InfoPath Form (Edit in Browse

My Infopath form works when edited in Infopath but crashes when I try to edit in a browser

I've created an Infopath 2010 form template that includes external data sources (External Sharepoint Lists) and C# managed code.  When I ran in debug mode it worked and I was able to debug it.  I had problems running it as a Sandbox solution (wouldn't connect to the data sources (my external lists) I had configured... kept saying it couldn't find the endpoint but it worked in debug mode).

I switched to the Administrator approved option and was able to load the form and data connections centrally.  Now I can access the form in my site collection... that's where the fun starts.  When I edit in Infopath, it connects to all data sources and displays the form just fine!  Problem is, I need it to run as a browser form which doesn't work and consistently throws the following error:

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on the local server machine, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web applicat

Edit Form not rendering correctly for one user

We are running MOSS 2007 Enterprise (SP2) and have a basic HR site setup.  When most users go to Edit the Properties of a document in the library, they see this page:

But, when one particular user (with appropriate permissions) goes to edit the properties of the same document, they see this:

Any ideas what could be causing this?  The only contributing factor that I can think of is that my company recently merged with another company this year.  This user is from the other company and recently had their account migrated to our domain.  They can access the site fine, it's just editing the properties that brings up an issue.

Client based InfoPath form User Roles: Order of Evaluation?

Again, client based (and no, this is a separate question from my other one, figured I'd ask them as separate threads).

To keep the example simple, let's assume I have 3 roles:  Administrator; Supervisor; Everyone.

Administrator is determined by your membership in a domain group, and this works great.  It's at the top of the list, so (according to MS), if it is evaluated that I'm in this role, execution stops, and that's my role.

Supervisor is determined if your name is in the 'Supervisor' field on the form (this works as well, even though my other post indicates it doesn't, but it doesn't in the context I'm using it there, so we'll move on and assume it works here).

Everyone else.

Now, if you are in the domain that evaluates to Administrator, that works great, until someone puts your name in the Supervisor field, then you evaluate to Supervisor.  This is wrong.  According to MS, it should still be evaluating Administrator first, and that is my role.  One of two things is happening:

1. MS is wrong, and it evaluates everything (I don't think this is the case, as I've tried changing the order of evaluation, and it still comes up Supervisor if my name is in that field, even though I'd normally come up as Administrator, based on my domain membership).

2. It evaluates i

Set InfoPath Task Edit form field value from Initiation form

I am using a SharePoint Designer 2010 custom approval workflow. I capture an initiation form parameter and save that value into a field in the list item associated with the workflow.

I need to display this value on the task edit form. I created a task form field, but I cannot find a way to set it from the workflow variable or the list item.

how to change infopath form time (function now())

however, if I do preview, it shows correct ime 4:11pm

How to let user edit selected gridview columns, not entire row

I've got a gridview I would like to let the user edit a couple of columns.  Seems like everything I'm coming across so far makes the entire row editable.

Hopefully the solution isn't too complicated.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

form feild hints are not displaying for textboxses inside create user wizard?

I'm using following JS code to display input hint box besides the textbox whenever that asp.net textbox receives focus.

I'm doing this for a registration form and all of the textboxes are inside the asp.net create user wizard control.

<script type="text/javascript">
function addLoadEvent(func) {
  var oldonload = window.onload;
  if (typeof window.onload != 'function') {
    window.onload = func;
  } else {
    window.onload = function() {

function prepareInputsForHints() {
	var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName("TextBox");
	for (var i=0; i<inputs.length; i++){
		// test to see if the hint span exists first
		if (inputs[i].parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0]) {
			// the span exists! on focus, show the hint
			inputs[i].onfocus = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "inline";
			// when the cursor moves away from the field, hide the hint
			inputs[i].onblur = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "none";
