Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

I have an infopath form that opens fine when you navigate to it or copy it down to your desktop but when I use the search and click on it from the search results I get 'form has been closed'

This only happens on a couple infopath forms and I an cannot figure out why... When I hover over the document the url appears correct.

Any Ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Error accessing Search Settings and search returns 0 results

Quick summary - my MOSS 2007 server died. I brought up a new server, installed MOSS, service pack 1, service pack 2, created the new config database, then attached my existing content database (I have a separate physical server for the databases). After a few tweaks to get most of the other settings back in order, (most) everything seems to be working somewhat as it should except for Search. Whenever I try to access Search settings I get an error: "An error occurred during the processing of . The resource object with key 'S2SearchAdminDashboard_Title' was not found". I created a new SSP with it's own unique account for the service and app pool (read online that it should be different than SharePoint account because of the timer service conflicting with search), I tried copying the files (listed here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointsearch/thread/1a93ef86-be5a-44ad-a814-14613fd0a78f) from my test environment with no luck, I've made sure the permissions to the Task Scheduler were correct (found a Google blip about that somewhere), I've deleted and re-installed the SSP multiple times, ran the Configuration Wizard more times than I can count, but no matter what I do it never changes and always gives the same error. Also, whenever I try to access Central Admin it tries redirecting me to http://servername:portnumber/_admin/SearchServerW

error while openning infopath file + "The Form has been closed."

I have restored the "Infopath" library from production to staging server

and when i tried to open the InfoPath form template(i.e TestFile.xsn file), but i am getting below error "The Form has been closed."

Actaully when i saw the log in 12\log folder, the error is given below

"10/07/2010 06:20:59.47  w3wp.exe (0x1A10)                        0x1740 Forms Server                   Forms Services Runtime         8ged Medium   MetaInformationByUrl:CrossSite check failed for site URL=http://mysitestaging/teamsites and file URL=: http://mysite/teamsite/formservertemplates/research%20request.xsn "

Please help me to solve this issue

Search form post & results in MVC

Pls. pardon my ignorance. I have few questions based on following scenario:

I have a LoginController with following methods:

 public ActionResult Login()
        return View();

    public ActionResult Login(UserObject user)
     Calling Besiness Service to Validate User againts DB (Using Repository)...

        if (success)
            return RedirectToAction("Search", "Search");
            ModelState.AddModelError("", "The user name or password provided is incorrect.");
        return View(user);

After successful login, I have to present a Search screen. I have a SearchController with following methods:

Error: The form has been closed

Using sharepoint explorer view I 'cut-pasted' a form into a form library, then I assigned unique permissions to that form item. But whenever I click the form item, I get the following error: "The form has been closed". Also, the same form when opened by the creator or sharepoint admin works opens properly but if a user (with contributer level permission) try to do the same; the mentioned error occurs.

The form item is a duplicate of an existing form with unique name but same form (item) permissions and other related attributes.

Question: Am I missing something here? What can I do to open these forms properly?

No search results and strange error in Application log

I have a Sharepoint Foundation installation on a single server with a SQL 2008 R2 express databse engine. I've configured the Sharepoint Foundation Search service via the Central Administration and I have connected the WSS_Content database to the Search Server via the Central Administration.

After the configuration was done I have manually started the timer job both through the Central Admin interface and also via the Command line through the stsadm tool. Even though the job have finished I get no hits on the site collection when searching for words I know are there.

However,  in the Event Viewer I can see the following warning in the Appication log:

A database error occurred. Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server Code: 14 occurred 4097 time(s) Description: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Invalid Instance()).]Invalid connection.
Anyone have any ideas if the above message is the problem or if I have forgot some crucial information.

Getting InfoPath Error "Form has been closed"

Hi All,

I am getting following error message when I try to click new button on InfoPath Form Library

" Form has been closed"

Upon checking the SharePoint error logs. I found following error message

" The form template failed to load. (User: Litware\max.steve, Form Name: Expense, IP: , Request: http://portal/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=http://portal/hr/Expense/Forms/template.xsn&SaveLocation=http://portal/hr/Expense&Source=http://portal/hr/Expense/Forms/MyItems.aspx&DefaultItemOpen=1, Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:Expense:-myXSD-2010-06-07T06-23-34, Type: SqlException, Exception Message: Invalid object name 't6_sco'.)    f6c21a52-df06-4e6d-ad0b-756318f22791 "

Any idea how to solve this problem ?

P.S: This problem is occurring with only one user "max.steve". Every one else in the company is able to open the form.

FYI: I am using InfoPath 2007 web based forms deployed on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

How to display a count of search results with keywords in a label?

Sorry for a basic post here; I am very new to VB!

I am currently building a search page, which includes a textbox and two drop-down lists, a search button, and a datagrid. If results are found and displayed, I would like a label to display:

(e.g.) "24 results found for 'blue sky clouds' "

...where the integer represents the results count, and the keywords and/or drop-down list selections are included in the string.

If no results are found I would like the label to display:

(e.g.) "No results were found that match your selection. Please try again"

I would also like the label to be invisible until a search occurs.

Thanks in advance!

The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.

I am consuming a third party web service wsdl using my .net aps.net page. And I am getting following error message. Cannt get to resolve it. Its working on my machine but not in my development machine. I have installed the certificate also in certificates on that machine. Can somone please help.?

Error -->  The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.

Linq2Sql error: "Invalid attempt to call Read when reader is closed."

I've read up on this error from other posts and on other sites, but haven't found a solid resolution to the issue yet. My setup is as follows:

I have a RepositoryBase class that fields certain db calls that all repositories need to perform. In one such call, "GetSecurityGroup", it works most of the time, but will seemingly at random throw an exception with the error "Invalid attempt to call Read when reader is closed." All other Repository classes inherit from this one, and they all use the same DataContext object, which I understand isn't thread safe. Since there could be multiple calls to the DataContext object on the same page, perhaps one is using the DataContext when the next tries to do so. I'm not sure. What can I do to ensure this doesn't happen?

Error in / Application after adding employee search in webpart

Hello everyone,

I am working on sharepoint 2007 and I was editing the webpart of the software and after adding the predefined employee search table, the server has crashed while trying to access the server remotely with the following error message:

Error in / Application

However, while trying to login locally I have no problem and can easily login.

What will be the course of action in fixing this error.

Also the site is complaining of an invalid certificate even after adding an exception.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Chris Stanko

How can I prioritise search results to show where document metadata has a hit first and then where t

When my users run a search against a site with a bunch of document libraries they will often search for terms that are in the title of the doc, if they do know the title they will put that in. What I would like to do is have the results ordered such that if any hits are on the document metadata (eg Title) then they are presented first and any results that are from hits on the content of the documents are presented later.

So, if they get the title spot on in their search query that document will appear first .... if they don't get it right then the likelyhood is that the title is something like what they entered so similar titled docs are presented first and then those with matching content ....

How can I achieve this?

No Results matching your search were found. WSS 3.0

I've got one sharepoint 3.0 site, which is a hostNamedSiteCollection which won't return any results when we search it - searching the entire site or a single list both produce the same "no results matching your search were found".
The site uses Windows Authentication.  We have no Alternate Access Mappings set up. It is regular HTTP
I've added test content to other sites housed in the same Web Application and searched - that new data is appearing in the results.
I did a backup using STSADM and restored the site to my dev server (as both a hostNamedSiteCollection & a regular site collection) - searches return results just fine.
I deleted the site from the prod server and restored it (into a different content database even!) from a backup  I made with STSADM - no results are returned.
I restored the site to the same web application as a Standard site (http://webapp/sites/sitename) (NOT a host named site collection) and results ARE returned.

I've looked at the trace logs & application logs on the server, but can't find any errors that I can tell might be related..

This is the only site I've ever seen have this problem.  We have plenty of other hostNamedSiteCollections and search is working fine on them.

Exclude the author name from the search results

How can i prevent author's name to appear in search results. shows many results when i search the "author.name".

I want, MOSS 2007 Search get results from the content only the user sees.

FAST Search for SP2010 scope setting works but not getting results.

I am trying this from last two days , but it does not work. I have created two scopes for FAST Search Query SSA , they appear in search center , but I am not getting any results back. I see them being fired in the FAST query log.

First one is a simple one:

New-SPEnterpriseSearchQueryScope -SearchApplication "FAST Query SSA" -Name DCO -Description "All DCO Documents" -DisplayInAdminUI 1 -ExtendedSearchFilter "ContentSource:DCO"

Content source is a managed property. and i can just query "contentsource:dco" from the text box which gives me results.

When I fire the query i see it in FAST Search query log

"GET /cgi-bin/search?qtf_keyword:context=ssgid%3a%3a4d020606-8532-45d8-b09a-db11283cccb4%7cSPS-Location%3a%3a%7cSPS-Responsibility%3a%2c%3a%7c&rpf_navigation:hits=50&rpf_navigation:enabled=True&spell=suggest&qtf_parsekw:timezone=10&type=kwall&qtf_teaser:dynlength=185&resubmitflags=8192&language=en&query=CASHIERING&sortby=%2bdefault&qtf_lemmatize=True&offset=0&version=
