Error when adding a record routing to the record routing list in the Records Center

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

When I try to add a record routing I get this error:

  • "The Records Center Web Service Submitters group could not be added to the location you specified. You might not have the necessary permission to perform this operation."

Does anyone know why?

Does anyone know what to change?

I am a site collection admin. I am a local admin on the server. I am a site admin for RC. The application pool identity accounts have been added to the Records Center Web Service group!

External Records Center in SP 2010 - "URL is a not a valid routing destination"

Hi all,

I've got a web service that worked as an external records center in SP 2007, but when I run through the configuration for SP 2010, I get the error "URL is a not a valid routing destination".  Is there a change in the requirement for SP 2010?  The tutorials I've seen make it seem like the web service interface hasn't changed.  Is there a way to find out more specifically what the problem is?  I looked at the log entries with the correlation id but there wasn't much there, just a stack trace indicating the exception is thrown from Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.OfficialFileAdminPage.IsValidUriToRouter(Uri uriToValidate).

many-to-many / NM: find the master-record that contains a (NM-) list of given detail-records

Hi there,

I'm starting to pull my hair out (not much left, actually).

I have a simple table construct with two tables plus an NM-table in between. To illustrate this, I've tried to abstract this down to something (hopefully) easy to understand.

Let's assume I have a table of products (#Products in the SQL below). I also have a table (#Combos in the SQL below) that merges those products into a list of valid combinations (call these "product packages", if you like). Combinations may thus contain 1..n products each. As a result, I have a NM-table that connects #Products and #Combos (#CombosProducts in the SQL below).
For instance, I could have one combo that consists of product 1 only, then one that consists of product 1 and product 2, then one with product 1 and three and so on.

At runtime of an application, I now get a list of products (think of this as a view) and now need to find the record in #Combos that references the same combination of products.

Here's a script that I hope illustrates the problem:

-- Create some (temporary) tables
CREATE TABLE #Combos ( ComboID varchar(10) NOT NULL );
CREATE TABLE #Products ( ProductID varchar(10) NOT NULL );
CREATE TABLE #CombosProducts ( ComboID varchar(10), ProductID varchar(10) );

Cast error when inserting record with Linq (to Sql)

I'm getting  the following error message:

I've been searching but can't find a solution.  This particular table has 4 columns. The first column is the int indentifier.  Column 2 is "username" (varchar50) and is the primary key.  Column3 is "userID" (uniqueidentifier) and column 4 is "active" (varchar5) .

Record Center and content type of the incoming documents

Hello all

I have same content types in both collboration site and record center sites.

When I used Send To command to send a document from collaboration area to record center, all the properties and metadata are promoted to columns in the Record center library. But the Content type of the document in record center is set to "Document" even though the incoming document's metadata has Content type value. Will all the records end up as Document content type if we are using default router?

Uploading documents directly to record center libraries in MOSS

Hello all,

We have several pdf documents that are records and we want to maintain them in record center. These documents were not part of any collaboration sites. They are all in a shared folder. So there is no audit history and version history for these documents which is typical of any collaboration area documents.

The question I have is, will there be any disadvantages of directly uploading the document to record center library instead of setting up routing rules and submitting the document using OfficialFile.asmx.

I have noticed that when we submit a document using Send To, Record Center's default router renames the file and makes it a unique file name by appending _uniqueId. In my case, all the files are uniquely named and I am not worried about file name clashes.

Is it advisable to directly upload the documents to record cente

WCF Routing service with Backup List not working with MSMQ

Hi I developed routing service for round robin routing. I added backup lists to this routing service in round robin pattern in config file. Anyway to change permissions on a record in a list?

I think I know the answer to this, but need to ask.  Is there anyway, without doing custom development, to change the permissions on a record such that it no longer permits changes? In other words, change status field to "Done" and from then on no more changes.  We can only do WSS "out of the box" and SharePoint Designer.  No development or XML allowed.--rms www.rmschneider.com

Update a record in a SharePoint list using web services

Routing of Records to a particular folder (in a hiearchy) based on contents of a metadata column

Hi, i'm looking for ideas to solve a problem that is roadblocking our sharepoint 2010 records management implementation.  We have set up our sharepoint 2010 records center to mimic our existing folder based records management system.  We would like to stamp each of our documents with a piece of meta data (called classification) which contains the path to the records center folder in which this document should reside.  Our users are familiar with this structure and we can setup defaults for a lot of documents so getting the value in the meta data is not a big issue.

The issue is that we would like to create a content organizer rule that would forward a document to a path defined in a meta data column to the matching column in the records center.  I don't beleive this is possible OOTB but i would love to be proven wrong.  I don't want to manually have to create a rule for every folder / meta data value combination because there are thousdand of folders in the existing records center folder.

I'm open to developing a custom solution to this problem (or hiring someone to doe this), however not sure where to start... use the content oganizer object or a sharepoint timer job?  Don't want to have to reinvent the wheel...

here is and example of what i mean by the metadata / folder pair

Problem when creating a Record Center in SharePoint 2010
