SharePoint Version History Reporting

I need to run a report against version history information. Specifically, show all instances where a column value was changed to 'X' on a specific date. I'm not sure how to approach this problem.
What is the DB table name?
Can the report be done inside SharePoint?
Is there a third party tool that anyone is using for history reporting?

Open to all thoughts
Many Thanks!

Reporting Services in SharePoint integration - configurtion errors in 64bit version

Hi,

We have build an MOSS 2007 environment on 64 bit servers. We build the reporting services server and configured in SharePoint integration mode. Initially configuration looks fine with reporting services integration with green indicators.

After creating a web application and accessing the web site from the report servor, i have found the following errors:

Reporting Services: Deliver SQL Server Reports To SharePoint To Enhance Team Collaboration

The solution covered here includes a custom SharePoint Web service that accepts SQL Server-generated report files and, through the WSS object model, stores the file in the appropriate library for enhanced collaboration possibilities.

RDL Rendering (500 Internal Server) Error at Sharepoint Integrated Reporting Service

I have a serious problem that cannot be solved by googling around the keywords below:
sharepoint, moss 2007, reporting service, ssrs 2008, rendering, internal server error, ....

The error is;

"An error occurred during client rendering. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. "

Everything is O.K.;

* When I render the report from the REPORTSERVER (http://localhost/ReportServer)
* When the reports are scheduled to be sent by the reporting service (planned via MOSS 2007)

But if I open (render) the RDL file from the sharepoint REPORTS LIBRARY interface, all of the reports fail with that internal error message above.

It is weird also that parametrized reports are displayed without errors although the parameters are queried from a sql dataset. But I got the error when rendering the report after I've chosen a parameter  and order "apply/report"...

Possible causes how I met that error may be;

After I have installed (then uninstalled) AJAX extensions
After I have re-configured IIS Web Service Extensions list items

Possible solution alternatives I've found;

I've found a solution on MSDN replying a similar issue with an ideal cause of the error but an evreka answer but no sol

Version history file properties

Hi

I move files into different folders programmatically. If a file was changed and it will be move again the new file is the actual file and the old file remained in the verison history.

How I save the new version:
SPFile destfile=website.getFile(destUrl);
destFile.SaveBinary(file.OpenBinaryStream());
destFile.update();

Normally when you upload the new file with changed properties manually you see the changed properties in the version history.
When I do this programmatically I have the new file with the main version but the changed properties would not be displayed.
Can anybody help me?

Thanks and Regards

SQL Server 2005: Install reporting services - which version?

Hello - I installed SQL Server 2005 as part of an SBS2008 install. I need to install reporting services, but now I'm having trouble identifying which version (X64 or X86) I'm running. Is there an easy way of figuring out which installation disk I need to insert for SQL Server 2005? Thanks, Nick.

Reporting Services and Sharepoint Integration - Sharepoint Alternate Access Mappings (Zones)

I get the following error when I try to navigate to a report/model/data source, stored in a Sharepoint Document Library using a Sharepoint URL based on an Extranet or Intranet zone - but it works OK using the url for the Default zone: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The specified path refers to a SharePoint zone that is not supported. The default zone path must be used. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SecurityZoneNotSupportedException: The specified path refers to a SharePoint zone that is not supported. The default zone path must be used. Is this a limitation of the SQLRS-WSS3 integration or is there a workaround? Many thanks to anyone who can help!

SharePoint Version 2.0 (WSS 2.0 SP3) Content Database restore to new farm

Is it possible to use an SQL backup from a sharepoint Version 2 SP3 database to restore the content on a new server farm and attach to a new web applicaiton. NOTE: This is WSS 2.0. In WSS 3.0 this is a very simple task, but it is not the same in WSS 2.0 (the add content database option CANNOT be used to attach to an existing content database like it does in WSS 3.0). The options I have found appear to say you need the configuration database from the old server then it can be done. I am migrating from an outsourced deployment, so I do not have access to that. Plan B is to do a sharepoint STSADM backup. THis seems to be a more likey way to do it.

user permission in granula level in SharePoint version 2

Hi, everyone:   I am administrator of a SharePoint v2 site. I found that I can either give "view item" or "view item, insert item, remove item and update item" permission to users, no middle. However, I do wish to give some users "view, edit" permission, but no "insert and remove item" permission.   So, does SharePoint v2 support this in out of box feature? if yes, how to make it, if no how can we achieve in easiest way?   Thank u MySTfrom Finland :D

Problem Integration SQL Reporting Service 2005 and SharePoint 2007

Hello, I'm trying to make our SQL Reports available on our SharePoint report center. I have SQL 2005 (sp3) report server that resides on a different server than our SharePoint 2007 server. So in our SRS Configuration Tool, we changed the database mode for SharePoint integration (before, we only had it in native mode), so we created a new database for this SharePoint Integration type. Next, I installed the Report Server Add-in for SharePoint 2007 server and it was successful. However when configuring the Report Server, we got stuck at the step "Grant Database Access". For some reason we keep getting error message "Named instance not found" We already installed Service Pack 3 on the Report Server... I heard that the problem is because the mismatched version between the Report Server Add-in in SharePoint and the SQL RS version... but I don't think this is the case for us. Do we need to install WSS on our Report Server too?     Another question: We already integrate our Report Server with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. However I see that when the Report Server is in the SharePoint Integration mode, all the reports in CRM don't work (because Report Manager is no longer available in this mode). Do you think it would be the best practice to install a copy of Report Server instance in our SharePoint 2007 server? Thank you, greatly appreciate all your hel

Which Sharepoint Version is best for my client

Hi all, A bit of advice really.  My client would like to use sharepoint as a tool to open communications with the office staff.  I have advised on using Sharepoint but am not 100% what the difference between the 2008 version that comes with server 2008 or the sharepoint server, which is additional costs. What my client needs to achieve is:   Gantt chats Access to files when outside the office (upload and download) To allow access to 3rd party organisations to access a created 'site' for the client.   So really, my question is, can this be achieved with the Sharepoint Version that is standard to 2008 or would they have to purchase the full version? Also, what is the difference between both versions? If there is a link I can be pointed too, more than happy to read.....just need this quite urgent   Thanks for any help   Drew

Problem while configuring SharePoint Usage Reporting

Hello all.    I was given an already developed MOSS 2007 (Standard) web application, up and running, and I was requested to activate the usage reporting services. So, I did a little search and found the following article that explains just how to do what I want:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262541(office.12).aspx As I go through the article, I come across this step on the "Enable usage reporting" section:  "On the SSP home page, in the Office SharePoint Usage Reporting section, click Usage reporting." So, now I notice that I don't have a Shared Service Provider and I can't go on with the aforementioned article. Alright, I did a little search and found this article:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262649(office.12).aspx Which would guide me through creating a SSP. No problemo. I follow the steps until I reach the 19th: "In the Index Server section, in Index Server, click the server on which you configured the Search service". And yet no option is available for me, and rather displays a "there's no index server" messsage. But hold on, the same article reads: "If there is no index server listed in the Index Server section, then no server in your farm has been assigned the index server role. To assign the index server role to a server in

SharePoint 2010 Reporting Services report on sharepoint list rsExecutionNotFound

I cannot get SQL Reporting Services 2008 R2 to work with a datasource that is a sharepoint list.  Reporting services seems to work fine setup in SharePoint 2010 Integrated mode. When I try and run a report that is based on a sharepoint list, I immediatly get the following error: The report execution tp15sp4515l3seqqo4do3e45 has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound) This seems to be something I am doing wrong with the sharepoint configuration, I would guess.  I haven't tried a regular database query, but they used to work when reporting services was configured for native mode.  So I assume this is just a problem connecting to sharepoint 2010 lists, with the new SharePoint 2010 List connection type. Edit This has got to have something to do with a permission setting for the app pool account of sharepoint.  I read something once where it said you had to grant it permissions, but every guide I've found since then doesn't mention anything about it. This log entry is where the problem seems to be occuring, I just don't know what permissions to give TESTDOMAIN\spweb which is the app pool account. library!ReportServer_0-3!1bdc!09/01/2010-09:58:03:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerStorageException: , An error occurred within the report server database.  This may be due to a connection failure, tim

How to use SharePoint 2007 list data in Reporting Service (Visual Studio) 2008?

Jeez - I have been googling left and right, and tried all the suggestions. No luck in getting it to work. I am using Reporting Service 2008 tools in my VS2008, trying to create a simple report using SharePoint 2007 data (from a simple list). Here is what I've been doing: Created a simple SharePoint list in a test site - only one column (Title) with one record of data. Started Visual Studio 2008 and created a new Report Server Project Wizard project. I named the data source "dsTest". Type: "XML". As connection string I used: http://site/subsite/subsite/_vti_bin/lists.asmx. Credentials: "Use Windows Authentication (Integrated Security)". Clicked Next and arrived at the "Design the Query" form. I entered this in the Query string box: <Query> <Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/" Name="GetListItems" /> <SoapAction>http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/GetListItems</SoapAction> </Query> Clicking Next I get this error: An error occurred while the query design method was being saved. Failed to execute web request for the specified URL. Soap Fault: Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown. Now if I view the Details when trying it inside the Query Builder I get this: <errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.mi
