MySite Employee Pictures not showing up within connected farm

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#
I have two sharepoint 2007 farms.  One holds the global intranet content for all our opco's and houses the mysites.  The profile pages are enabled but not the personal pages.  We have allowed our users to update their employee pictures within their profile page.  Those pictures come through within web parts and lists just fine within this farm.  The other farm is in another domain and have connectivity to the mysite info on the other farm.  Within the secondar farm we are not seeing the pictures but get all the other data just fine.  What might be our problem with not seeing the image on this secondary farm?

Mysite profile pictures not showing in people and groups, or search results

My organization is running MOSS 2007 Enterprise with search.  Picture profiles uploaded to the user's mysite only appear while browsing from the Default zone.  When browsing the Internet zone, a broken link appears in place of the picture when viewing pages such as "People and Groups" or search results.  For example:

Default zone:

http://moss1:5154   <---- mysite
http://moss1:5155   <---- main sharepoint site

Internet zone:

https://mysite.domain.com  <---- extended mysite
https://domain.com             <---- extended main sharepoint site

The picture profile url that is appearing while browsing the Internet zone is:

Instead of:

All of the textual information is coming over fine, just the images have invalid urls for the current zone.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Any insights appreciated,

Move MySite with stsadm backup from FARM A to FARM B within same Domain

Hi, I'd to move, with a series of "stsadm -o backup -url..." command, a lot of mySites from one Farm to another in the same Active Directory. Are there special Tasks after the "stsadm -o restore -newurl ..." command ? Can I handle MySite like a "normal" Team Sites ? I'm not sure what happen, for the Users after the new MySite URL become active (I hope it will not create a new empty one) ThanksTester

SharePoint Userprofile synchronize with mysite userinfo in different farm

I am using Sharepoint 2007.... we have 2 userprofiles 1 userprofile for my intranet application in Farm1 2nd Userprofile for mysite in Farm2 both the userprofiles fetch data from same AD.  Onclick of mysite user is redirected to mysite in farm2 which fetches userinfo from farm2 If user updates any Sharepoint information (like picture, about me these are not from AD but stores in Sharepoint userinfo table) from mysite this information is not updated in farm1 intranet sites, this is because both farms use different unserinfo tables   is there any way i can update my intranet farm1 userinfo table with mysite userinfo

Farm account has a MySite - should it be deleted?

While configuring Form Based User My Sites I discovered that the System and farm accounts have My Sites (in the Shared Service Provider).

This sounds like a bad practice and I should delete these My Sites. I did a few searches on the Web and didn't find any data about this...

Should I delete these My Sites or just leave them alone?

Outlook Social Connector photo from MySite not showing

I have the outlook social connector connected to my mysite host in sharepoint 2010, it is pulling activity feeds just fine but not the photo's.

When I was running SharePoint 2010 Beta and Office 2010 Beta, this worked fine, but since I have installed RTM for both, the photo's do not show.

I have not done a 2 way sync with Active Directory to send the photo's to AD, as I did not do this at beta, but as I already mentioned - i could see the photos in the beta environment.

Any ideas?

Profile Pictures showing as broken images

I noticed today that all of the people that have added profile pictures are now showing as the broken image "red X". I checked the User Photos library located in the root mysite site collection and all 60 people that have added their images show up as a broken image. I tried re-uploading my own image and it completed without issue, the entry in the library updated with today's date but again broken image.

My farm has been running great and the only thing that has change recently is I applied the ClaimAuth KB update that central admin was having a fit about. I'm going to dig thru the logs and see if there's any info but thus far I haven't found much.

Creating a web-part in sharepoint showing charts connected through a database

here's what I intend to do: 1) Import data from a database(through creating a connection to database) 2) create a graph or chart using the values from the database(in excel) 3) then import that chart to the sharepoint site as a web-part. My question is how to accomplish the task. (all the three steps) So, whenever the values are updated in the database, the sharepoint site will be automatically updated. Any help would be greatlly appreciated.

Sharepoint 2010 Passphrase Not Connected To Farm - Disaster Recovery

A few weeks ago i made a sql backup of all the sql 2008 database (just SharePoint dbs).
Lost that server. Had .baks on a backup drive offsite.
I restored the databases to a new windows server 2008/microsoft sql 2008 database server. I can connect to sharepoint_config.... but without knowing the passphrase I’m stuck.
I’m not sure what the passphrase is and resetting isn’t working (using SharePoint power shell ) due to me not being connected to that farm.

Anything i can do here? Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Trouble with UpdateProgress showing...

Recently I converted a project to VS.NET2010 and ASP.NET 4.0 (not convinced this is the problem, but regardless this is when the problem began) and now I am having an issue with an AJAX UpdateProgress showing. Here is the abrriviated code:

   <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanelPostPageLoad" runat="server">
         <asp:Timer ID="tmrPostPageLoad" Enabled="false" Interval="100" OnTick="PostPageLoad_LoadData"
         <asp:Timer ID="tmrPostPageLoadPt2" Enabled="false" Interval="1" OnTick="PostPageLoad_LoadDataPt2"
<%--Placing the UpdateProgress inside the UpdatePanel targeted--%>
         <asp:UpdateProgress ID="UpdateProgressPostPageLoad" runat="server" DisplayAfter="0" AssociatedUpdatePanelID="UpdatePanelPostPageLoad">
                       Updating blah blah....

DAL Dataset showing all the column

I follow the tutorial and create DAL with Dataset. I created a Table Adapter with many column, but when i Call a simple Get for 2 column only. The system display 2 column and the rest column with empty data.

My question is that will this affect the performance? because i only need 2 column.

example: Table with 40 column define in Dataset in DAL. I have GetMember from Dataset with 40 column, some request only 1 column (with 39 empty), some request 22 column (with 18 empty column). Will this affact the performance?

Should i create a seperate DatasetAllColumn, Dataset1Column, Dataset22Column ?? so system only return exact column i need. and hofully the performance is optimized to it best.

Intermittant error: "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respon

I'm having a doozy of a problem, and can't find a solution.  I have a WFC Web Service installed to a pair of servers, and accessed through a load balancer.  I am accessing the service from an ASP.NET client app, also via WCF.  The Client is not load balanced.

I can reproduce this error with about 20% reliability if I execute the exact same page request on the client from 2 browsers at the same time.  When the problem occurs, the successful p
