I have a smart device application for a portable terminal (terminal has GPRS and a SIM card) created using Visual Basic in VS2008. I need to be able to send an email from this applicaiton. Can anyone tell me how to do this with either VS2008 or VS2010.
If you've built Web sites using ASP.NET, you'll welcome the Microsoft Mobile Internet Toolkit (MMIT). MMIT extends the Visual Studio .NET IDE you already know by providing new controls for handheld devices letting you easily develop applications for wireless devices. This means you can write less code while adapting it to more devices. Not only does MMIT integrate with Visual Studio .NET, it extends ASP.NET as well. This article gives you the background you need to write, test, and deploy a site with MMIT and make all your code able to target specific devices for a custom fit.

I'm here to solve a problem, and that is our application, which speaks to a central server on startup, checks for updates and if found, updates its local files (stored in Program Files) with those pushed from the central server. Currently, we are getting
access denied exception when this updater tries to add/edit files in this special directory. What I am looking for is a way to accomplish this updating process without moving these application files to a different location.
I am working on a smart device project and want to run on emulator.i have completed the application.but now i want to run it on Emulator in vs2008.
I need to simulate a proxy server to test mobile device c# application.
Is there a way to do this? how should I do this.
I'm new to developing mobile apps and have hit a brick wall. I use Web Services all the time so I know I have created it correctly and it works. The issue is that i cant seem to add it to my class or form in the Smart Device Project.
When I right click I get the option to add Web Reference, I then navigate to the url and add as I normally would. When I then try to access the service I cant seem to navigat to it from code and it is not available. I have also tried adding a Web Service directly by 'Add New Item, but this file type is not available in the list of installed templates.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
