Deleting cookies

Posted By:      Posted Date: May 22, 2011    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi all,

I'm trying to delete a cookie instantaneously but failing. I build a listview of cookies, delete one by epiring it, reload the list but it's still there, and even created another one (which will be the one i've added with an expiry date). If I then re-load the list they both disappear.

Why is there lag? Is there anything I can do to stop it?

Keen Explanation About Cookies

Adding Client-Side Confirmation When Deleting

The JavaScript confirm(string) function displays its string input parameter as the text inside a modal dialog box that comes equipped with two buttons - OK and Cancel (see Figure 1). The confirm(string) function returns a Boolean value depending on what button is clicked (true, if the user clicks OK, and false if they click Cancel).

Cookies and Helpers

The api guide is real briefe about cookies. I would I go about creating/assiging a cookie, setting exporation, and anything else...

Could someone just list out the helper capabilities?

Thanks for your time...!

'Create a new cookie, passing the name into the constructor
                            Dim ContactId As New HttpCookie("ContactID")

Flash player doesn't send cookies while requesting an aspx page

I'm developing a web-site, that uses SWFUpload for multiple files upload to the server. Page, that uploades files, is accessable only to registered user. Authentication is done via web-forms (authentication mode="Forms" in Web.config). Flash uploades files to special web page - upload.aspx. In IE everything works great, but Flash player in non-IE browser (in Firefox, for example) does not send any cookies to upload.aspx. Because of it no sesion and no authentication information is available in this page.

I can pass all the information, necessary for uploading, in GET-parameters, which upload.aspx recieve. But this is a serious security hole and I don't want to expose session information. I can pass session identifier in GET-request. But the question is the following: how can I restore session information from the session identifier? How can I make HttpContext.Current.User point to currently logged in user in this case?

Any help will be appreciated.

Deleting items from the index (custom protocol handler)

I created a custom protocol handler. I successfully emit entries into the index. I just can't seem to delete them during an incremental crawl.

I tried:

1. no emitting child item during the enumeration of child entries in a folder
2. returning PRTH_E_OBJ_NOT_FOUND from CreateAccessorEx

doing either 1, 2, or both did nothing. The entries are still there.

what i need to do to delete these entries from the index during an incremental crawl?

I am deploying an infopath form in central admin and it stuck with the message "installing" and if i try to remove it stuck with message 'deleting". I restarted timer as well admin jobs in all servers (front end and app) but it is still showing the same. I also renamed my form and tried..no result. Can any one suggest me how to resolve this? I am wondering how it s happening just from one week.there are no changes in servers as well in environment. It works well before.

3rd party cookies, proxies, and you.

I have an intranet site that is used to pull several other intranet applications/tools and database info to one place. One of the most popular features uses iFrames and jQuery tabs to give a broad overview of activities, signal etc in a network node.  Chrome and Firefox eat it up with no problems, IE will work if you override the cookie policies that restrict 3rd party cookies without a valid p3p (what a worthless standard).  IE also works if you already authenticated yourself on the individual sites and the session cookies are still valid. It's gaining popularity outside the original small intended audience, and I can't expect everyone to override their privacy settings or expect IT to push the sites out to exception lists on all PCs in the company. Before someone chimes in with "just add protected void Application_BeginRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { HttpContext.Current.Response.AppendHeader("p3p", "CP=\"IDC DSP COR ADM DEVi TAIi PSA PSD IVAi IVDi CONi HIS OUR IND CNT\""); } to your global .asax", I have ZERO control of the child site., so regular 'ol p3p settings ain't gonna cut it.After wasting over two days with it and getting behind on more important matters, I figure my options at this point areSomehow inject p3p into the header of the child site just before iFrame renders. Deleting a key container. Detecting if it exists.

I have a need to detect if a key container exists. I have looked at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.security.permissions.keycontainerpermission(VS.80).aspxbut I have two problems. One, the 'Deny' method appears to be obsolete. When I copy the code from this demo I get a warning that Deny is obsolete and will be removed. Two, if I follow the instructions to delete the key from the container it seems to work but if I subsequently try to get the key from the container I get another key and there is no indication that any key had been removed. Any ideas on thus manipulating key containers? Thank you. Kevin

The problem is for some reason sql sever says that the old table still exists! I'm sort of a bigtime noob in terms of operating the sql environment so...yeah. Thanks!

Microsoft .Net Framework needs deleting and starting over because it is a mess

Hello, I have a Hewlet Packard Computer and it is about 10 years old. Recently I was having problems with it and so I did a HP Systems Restore on it. The Compurer Repair man came to my house later and said that my computer only had the Service Pack 1 on it and that it needed more, so he added Service Pack 3 I think it was. Anyway then something else happened later and everything on my computer wasnt acting right again. I had tried adding the Microsoft .Net Framework stuff to it, and I knew absolutely nothing about it all, in fact, I wasnt even aware of it being on my computer till the Computer man had come here. I dont even know what it is for. But anyway, at one point I had tried to just remove it all off my computer entirely, going to my Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs, then I tried some kind of a Clean-up tool but I dont think I knew what I was doing. The whole thing is a mess and this morning it was acting up again. Can you please help me to be able to get this all off my computer completely then to add it properly back onto my computer? Also, I noticed the little yellow shield on the bottom right corner of my computer keeps saying Ive got one update, then it tries to add it, and I think its the Framework thing and it fails. It says it is installing Framework 3.5 then gives me a Fatal Execution Error OX7927f276 Then it pops up saying something about a debugger. Cou

Local Cookies Storage, HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse

Where are cookies stored for Forms Authentication when debugging asp.net from VS and the asp.net dev

Hey all!   When I have my app-deployed on a server and login with forms authentication I see my cookie get's created in   C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\CookiesAnd it works great and everything! But when I run my application locally with the asp.net development server while debugging from Visual Studio, I NEVER see a cookie file get created in that location.   I'm using the same PC and the same version of internet explorer 8 on the production as I am development so I'm not sure what's going on here.   Does anyone know where cookies get stored when hitting http://localhost:<devport> ?
