IDE: Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 Express
For the first time I have encountered the issue where breakpoints will not be triggered when debugging an .ASPX website. Earlier in the same programming session I was successfully using the debug option with no problems. A search on the internet for the solution to this problem has highlighted the fact that is experienced by many users and that there isn't a defined set of actions that will resolve the problem.
Steps I have taken that have made no difference are:
- Deleted the .NET temporary file folders
- Re-installed the VWD 2008 software
I can create new websites and correctly debug them with no difficulties, but no matter how many times I try it on the website I was originally working on, I get the same result where the line in the code where the breakpoint has been added displays the 'breakpoints will not be hit.....' warning message.
I have managed to use a workaround to debug my code; I have downloaded the website to an alternative pc running VWD 2008, so there is obviously nothing wrong with the code itself!
I have also deleted the project files (.sln & .suo), created a new project, copied all the existing website .aspx content, but still I get the same error. It is hard to see where any associat
