Posted By:      Posted Date: April 14, 2011    Points: 0   Category :

Hello all,

I have forgot the SA password as well as the windows domain id  and password which was used by me, during the install. The SQL service runs under the local sytem account and is a default instance,

Is there any way to get into the server , or a way to find out what was the windows id which was provided by me , when i was installing the SQL (by default we will use an SQLwindows id) during install.

How to reset Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 password if you forgot or lost windows password

It is truly very often for us to meet the password problem, sometimes we would forgot windows password or lost windows password, and could not login windows system and make a big trouble. At this time, you would hope to find a way to reset and recover the forgotten password.
Actually, a lot of methods are available to recover or reset the Windows password. But most of them are designed for PC experts, not common PC users, those solutions are too complicated to get it work for us. And in this article, I will show you a professional software tool which could help you to reset forgotten windows password easily.

Total Windows Password Reset is powerful password recovery software to reset Windows admin
passwords for you to login Windows OS without reinstalling the OS when you forgot windows password or lost windows password. It could remove windows password and set the password to blank. Just boot from the program CD/DVD or USB flash drive, choose the account you wish to reset and all will be done. It is not a method to crack or bypass windows password, just remove or delete windows password and set it to blank so you could login windows to set new password.
Below is the guide of how to reset windows password with this software, only 3 steps are needed to reset windows 7/Vista/XP password:

Forms based users being prompted for windows authentication login for My Sites photos in user lists

Here's an issue I didn't see coming for our forms based authentication users.

We have a web application extended to an external url to handle forms based authentication for users outside of our domain. Our setup looks like this...

Internal Users/Windows Authentication - moss.domain.com
External Users/Forms Based - mossext.domain.com
My Site for Internal Users - mysites.domain.com

When our forms based users are accessing user lists, or discussion pages that display user pictures, they are getting a windows authentication login for our internal users (mysites.domain.com) who have populated their my site with personal photo.

How do we fix this?

Windows authentication login form issue

I have an application that requires windows authentication to login, the problem is that every time an user logs in under IE and win XP, the username is pre filled with the IP address of the server as instance and the username. I need to replace the server ip with  XXXX instance name instead of doing this manually.

Could anyone pleas help me out with this one?

Thanks in advance,

Login to SQL, using Windows 7, SQL Server Error 18452, "Login failed. The login is from an untrusted

I have a File/Sharing Server which is Server 2008 SP2 and SQL Server 2008 is installed on it. My system which is on the same workgroup, was running Windows 2003 Server, which I have saved Server 2008 login credential on it and used that credential to login to SQL Server on Server 2008 system in Windows Authentication mode using SQL management studio. Recently I installed Windows 7 on that system, and I have also saved that Server 2008 credential in Windows 7 Credential Manager. The problem is here when I want to login in Windows Authentication mode using SQL management studio like past, and I will get below Error: Cannot connect to [SERVER] Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. (.Net SqlClient Data Provider) Error Number: 18452 Severity: 14 State: 1 Line Number: 65536 I tried that registry solution (DisableLoopbackCheck=0x01 this thread), but no luck with that. I have checked the outgoing packets when I click on connect, and I found out that SQL management studio tried to send my local windows credential instead of Server 2008 saved credential. I don't want to login in SQL Mode, and also I don't want to convert my server to Domain controller. Is there any other solution with this issue? Regards

Multiple Windows Authentication options on login after Web App restore

Hi I have a question regarding SharePoint Foundation 2010 and backup / restore jobs... I'm doing nightly farm backups using PowerShell: Add-PsSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell Set-location $home Backup-SPFarm -Directory \\same-server\***** -BackupMethod Differential This morning I decided to try and restore a single web application, just to make sure it works. In Central Administration I selected the latest farm backup and then selected the node for the Web Application and choose restore (using option: Same configuration) because it's the same server. Restore process went fine, no failure messages, and I can see that it has restored the content I deleted for testing. BUT when I enter the site. I'm presented with a Login page (that you would see if you have also configured Forms Authentication for the same zone, which I have not) and the drop down box show two options: "Windows Authentication" and "Windows Authentication". Both let me use windows credentials to login so basically the login page is pointless and it wasn't there before. I should note: The Web Application was and is configured to use Claims Based Authentication and for Windows Authentication: Kerberos. Nothing for forms. Default sign in page. And I was never presented with this redundant login page before the restore. Anyone knows why this could be happening and how to solve it?? Than

LDAP - directory entry issue with out user and password using impersonate and windows authentication

Hi All I am using the below code to fetch the user information from LDAP             DirectoryEntry entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://DEV");             DirectorySearcher searcher =  new DirectorySearcher(entry);             SearchResult result;             searcher.Filter = "samaccountname=testuser";             result = searcher.FindOne(); here i am using windows authentication always and along with that when i enable the impersonate = true ,  the code fails at "result = searcher.FindOne();" with message "object reference not set to instance of an object "  also with the same code if i give the username and password along with the impersonate tag >> it works  or if i am using the user and password along with the DirectoryEntry  object then also it will work  but it fails with same user that i gave in impersonate tag / directory entry object with windows authentication enabled  and the  user logged to the application and no username and password tag in directory entry / impersonate tag  Interesting thing is that  in our development server ,  i am able to execute the same code with out user name p

return url in aspx refreshes the page when I click login after entering user name and password

Hello,   I need help as I am struggling to login into my web portal on my new sony vaio laptop. I think that I need to do some settings, or download some plugin. Infact I don't know what to do, as I have spent many hours trying to login, but no success. Below is my office website:   http://www.lantec-uk.net/SignIn.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fdefault.aspx When I enter my credentials and click login, the web page gets refreshed, i.e username and password get erased, rather than taking me into my web-portal. The laptop is having windows 7 home premium, with ie8. I have also tried installing firefox, chrome, opera and safari, but same problem. Somebody please help, as sony has refused to take the laptop back and they are saying that there is problem with website. Similarly, website staff are saying that there is a problem with the laptop and not with the website.   Any help highly appreciated.

Windows Auth - still showing login prompt in IE...

Hi, I'm trying to setup my IIS 7.0 MVC2 site but having problems. I want to use Integrated Security so that the app can obtain the user's credentials. We can then do a look-up of some AD groups to determine what they can do from that point onwards. The problem is - Every time we browse to the application, instead of navigating to our main page immediately, we get a login prompt provided by IE. I've read that we need to make sure that in the browser's Tools->Options->Advanced-> (Securiy-> ENable Windows Intagrated Security) must be checked - which it is on ALL 3 machines where I try this. The machines AND the server are all in the same domain. My config file states <authentication mode="Windows" /> and I've tried every combination for <identity...> and <authorization...> but to no avail. I can only get the "login" prompt to go away if I enable Anonymous Authentication - but then I can't detect the windows user or their group membership. What is causing the perpetual display of the login prompt - Its driving me mad ! Help...

I forgot my SA password for my instance of SQL 2000

Hi all,

I have SQL 2000 and I forgot my SA password and cannot login as administrator using windows authentication.

Is there any way to reset SA password?

"Mixed Mode" authentication is enabled.

If I change authentication mode in register to Windows only and then after restarting SQL change it back to Mixed, will it reset SA password to "null"?

Thanks in advance.
