I am not a tech just a business owner who is unable to use my business contact manager in outlook. I contacted microsoft and they have referred me to your website although they state will still work on the problem. I have a Windows Vista
Ultimate. SQL Server 2005 Sp2.
The first error on opening Outlook is the SQL Server cannot be found. Then pops up error stating "object reference not set to an instance of an object" My business contact data base cannot connect. Later my business contacts do show up
Next problem is the The update SQL Server express edition sp4 (KB2463332) installation fails even when downloaded driectly from your website. This problem seems to be connected to the first problem, as also the failed installation upgrade of the visual studio
2005 sp1, and the failed installation of 2010 microsoft professional office.
I have read several of the questions on 2005 install problems and have tried all that related. One "Enable the TCP/IP Protocol for a database instance" on checking the SQL services in the SQL Server Configuration Manager I was unable to Start or restart
the service. The area was light grey and remained so. I was able to to change the protocal to enable. I downloaded SQL Server sp3 and Tools from your web site. The tools did install and most of sp3 but am not sure how
