Error Message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection informatio

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control.  I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control.  I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly.  I am getting an error message. Am I suppose to use an .rdlc file rather than a .rdl file?  Does the web server configuration need to use a certain account?  I am getting the following error message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

I am loading sql server 2008 r2 developer edition into Windows Vista Home Basic. Product loads correctly with no error messages; except will not create database engine. And will not create integration services. When I try to open MMC, I will get error "MMC could not initialize the snap-in. Product may not have been installed correctly."

I understand this is a known issue for SQL Server 2008 RD installing on Windows Vista? What is the workaround or fix? Hot fixes available for this issue from support.microsoft.com do not install on my Windows Vista Home Basic machine.

Server 2008 R2 -> Failed to decrypt using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider'. Error mess

So I am using the aspnet_regiis.exe tool to encrypt sections of the web.config in my asp.net applications and services.  I have done this for years successfully on Windows Server 2003 (IIS 6).  However I just moved some apps over to Windows Server 2008 R2 (with IIS 7.5) and I am now receiving the following error at runtime:

"Server was unable to process request. ---> Failed to decrypt using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider'. Error message from the provider: Bad Data."

Now I am quite familiar with this process and am stumped at what I have missed this time around.  I have done ALL of the following which typically suffices for the process on the server. PLEASE READ ALL AND DO NOT PROVIDE RESPONSES OR LINKS FOR THINGS I HAVE ALREADY DONE Thanks!!  Wink

  1. Imported the keys to the server using aspnet_regiis -pi  Result: Success
  2. Given FULL permission (using -full switch) using aspnet_regiis -pa to ALL of the following accounts  Result: Success

I have a File/Sharing Server which is Server 2008 SP2 and SQL Server 2008 is installed on it. My system which is on the same workgroup, was running Windows 2003 Server, which I have saved Server 2008 login credential on it and used that credential to login to SQL Server on Server 2008 system in Windows Authentication mode using SQL management studio. Recently I installed Windows 7 on that system, and I have also saved that Server 2008 credential in Windows 7 Credential Manager. The problem is here when I want to login in Windows Authentication mode using SQL management studio like past, and I will get below Error: Cannot connect to [SERVER] Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. (.Net SqlClient Data Provider) Error Number: 18452 Severity: 14 State: 1 Line Number: 65536 I tried that registry solution (DisableLoopbackCheck=0x01 this thread), but no luck with that. I have checked the outgoing packets when I click on connect, and I found out that SQL management studio tried to send my local windows credential instead of Server 2008 saved credential. I don't want to login in SQL Mode, and also I don't want to convert my server to Domain controller. Is there any other solution with this issue? Regards

Login failed for WINDOWS Administrator login. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456)

Now the problem is i can not login with Windows Authentication neither i can login as "sa" user as this user is disabled. Please suggest me how to get in to SQL server management studio. Database is up and running but i can not access the database any more after doing this blunder. Please suggest me how to recover SQL instance, Thank you.

SQL Server 2008 Installation / Uninstall failed: Error 1603

Hello! I've been trying to install the SQL Server 2008 CTP 5.0 on a Windows Server 2008. The installation failed and left the shared components installed but the database engine was missing. So I tried to roll back the installation and stumbled upon the problem again. Now I can't install or uninstall any SQL Server (I tried 2005 as well) without these results. This is the file *Sql_Cpu32_1_ComponentUpdateSetup.log === Verbose logging started: 01.01.2001  20:30:03  Build type: SHIP UNICODE 4.00.6001.00  Calling process: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\setup100.exe ===MSI (c) (30:CC) [20:30:03:671]: Resetting cached policy valuesMSI (c) (30:CC) [20:30:03:671]: Machine policy value 'Debug' is 0MSI (c) (30:CC) [20:30:03:671]: ******* RunEngine:           ******* Product: {8151C56C-5426-481C-96AF-F221FE1A10F2}           ******* Action:            ******* CommandLine: **********MSI (c) (30:CC) [20:30:03:687]: Client-side and UI is none or basic: Running entire install on the server.MSI (c) (30:CC) [20:30:03:687]: Grabbed execution mutex.MSI (c) (30:CC) [20:30:04:062]: Cloaking enabled.MSI (c) (30:CC) [20:30:04:062]: Attempting to enable all disabled privileges before calling Install on ServerMSI (c) (30:CC) [20:30:04:125]: Incrementing counter to disable shutdown. The SQL Server(2005 express) service failed to start. Error 29503

Product: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition -- Error 29503. The SQL Server service failed to start. For more information, see the SQL Server Books Online topics, "How to: View SQL Server 2005 Setup Log Files" and "Starting SQL Server Manually."
The error is  (1067) The process terminated unexpectedly.

Initially the SQL Server was running over there, later one day it stopped. When trying to start manually I got "The process terminated unexpectedly" error. Tthen I uninstalled it and tried to install again, but got "Error 29503. The SQL Server service failed to start" error while installation and installation rolled back. If I install it using Local System and without "Enable User Instance" I get same error but after multiple retry it started. However my desktop application is not running and giving error message "Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure process for the user instance. The connection will be closed".

I tried "sp_Configure .......... " and "Reconfigure" to enable user instance but still got "Failed to generate......" error.

Another problem is that SQL Server service starts in multiple retry.

I have tried most of the forum solutions however I am still getting the same error in my desktop application. Mos
