Trouble Creating SQL Server Peformance Condition Alert

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 14, 2011    Points: 0   Category :

I was attempting to create a SQL Server alert that checked for the log file size of a database.  The issue is that my database is not listed under "instance".  Other databases are missing as well but I do not know how or why a database shows up under instance name.  Does anyone know how I can get my database to show up in the instance dropdown list?

Trouble executing ASP.NET app on 64-bit server

Hi,I have an asp.net webapp that uses some unmanaged code and 3rd party pre-compiled libraries that I am pretty sure are 32-bit.  We developed this on a 32-bit machine with a 32-bit development windows server.  Now we are moving our web site to production where the box has Windows Server 2003 64-bit.  I was getting W3SCV errors about the framework at first:http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b116/dtdono0/DOTNET/ISAPI_002.jpg I followed the instructions on this blog that talks about enabling the 32-bit version of ASP.NET: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894435Now I get a new error and I cannot find any documentation on it.  http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b116/dtdono0/DOTNET/ISAPI_001.jpgI looked up the error code 0x000000c1 and got the following:C:\Err>err 000000c1# for hex 0xc1 / decimal 193 :  SPECIAL_POOL_DETECTED_MEMORY_CORRUPTION                       bugcodes.h  SQL_193_severity_15                                           sql_err# The object or column name starting with '%.*ls' is too# long. The maximum length is %d characters.  ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT                                          winerror.h# %1 is not a valid Win32 application.# 3 matches found for "000000c1"This really doesn't tell me much.  Any ideas?

Creating a table-valued function on a user defined type in SQL Server CLR

We would like to be able to create a table-valued function on a user defined type.  We would like the syntax in SQL to look like it works for the XML nodes function:   DECLARE @myXml XML = '<a><b>1</b><b>2</b><b>3</b></a>' ; SELECT  node.query('text()') FROM    @myXml.nodes('a/b') nodes (node) ;   In other words, in the FROM clause, we can access the "nodes" method of the xml variable and it returns a rowset. Thanks!

The condition of creating assembly for external access permission?

To create an EXTERNAL_ACCESS or UNSAFE assembly in SQL Server, one of the following two conditions must be met: 1. The assembly is strong name signed or Authenticode signed with a certificate. This strong name (or certificate) is created inside SQL Server as an asymmetric key (or certificate), and has a corresponding login with EXTERNAL ACCESS ASSEMBLY permission (for external access assemblies) or UNSAFE ASSEMBLY permission (for unsafe assemblies). 2. The database owner (DBO) has EXTERNAL ACCESS ASSEMBLY (for EXTERNAL ACCESS assemblies) or UNSAFE ASSEMBLY (for UNSAFE assemblies) permission, and the database has the TRUSTWORTHY Database Property set to ON. The two conditions listed above are also checked at assembly load time (which includes execution). At least one of the conditions must be met in order to load the assembly. This is a explanation on msdn.I think if only one of these condition is met,it will work. But after I do the first condition,I still can not create an assembly with EXTERNAL_ACCESS permission except SET TRUSTWORTHY on. should the two condition be met?

Trouble With Team Foundation Server/Visual Studio 2010

Hi At work we are 2 guys on the same project. We both program in visual studio 2010. The other guy complains that he don't see my changes. I know this dude have already executed "Get Latest Version", despite that he don't get my changes. Some more information that may be relevant:Each time I've done some changes to the source code on my local computer, when I run the code breakpoints are not triggered. I get a message saying something about mismatch between different version of the source (or something like that, weeks sinece I saw that message). It's a while since I saw that message becasue I've found a work-around: Each time I've done changes tothe source code I do this:- Clean Solution- Rebuild (Release)- Rebuild (Debug) When I've done that I can see my own changes.. But the other guy have trouble with seeing my changes. I'm not sure how to fix it so that he see my changes. I checkin regulary so my changes should be available on the Team Foundation Server. Any help on this would be very helpful

Checking SQL Server User Roles and Creating SQL Server Users using VB.NET

Hello gurus!Firstly I want to apologies if this question is out of place here.. if someone can direct me to the correct forumn great and Thanks!I have a VB.NET application which uses its own Backend Database (MSSQL Server). I need to distribute this application to sites where there will be an existing SQL Server.So I will need to Create the Database on this server. The Application includes methods for building the database on startup if not already connected to one.However the users windows logon may not have the correct permission to connect and create a Database on the Server. I have a DB Setup form in my application which asks for the Servname, Username, Password and Database name. I have catered for Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication within the form - the user makes the choice.Assuming they enter a Username and Password for SQL Server Athentication then I will be trying to connect using this user and create the database on the given server. The following is my outline logic:-                                                                  Create db Process                                                                             |                                                                             |                                                               Check Credentials                                                                   /

Custom Email Alert template creating links to DispForm.aspx

I have a requirement to customise the alert template for a standard blog post list. To do this I: 1. Created a copy of alertstemplate.xml 2. Copied the genericList alert template node and customised 3. Registered the new template file against the site collection, iisreset and finally assigned the new Alert template to the list, when alerts are created the custom template is emailed. The problem now arises that the 'View <Post Title>' in the toolbar section now creates a hyperlink to http..../Lists/Posts/Dispform.aspx?ID=xx rather than post.aspx. I have checked using sharepoint designer that the list supporting files has the correct display item form of Lists/Posts/Post.aspx. Additionally if I reset the alert template for the list back to use the Generic list template the same problem still occurs so this leads me to believe it is not the customisations that are the problem. Code used to assign the alert template to the Posts list: var ats = new SPAlertTemplateCollection((SPWebService) site.WebApplication.Parent); var newTemplate = ats[alertName]; if (newTemplate == null) { // We did not find the specified Template. throw new Exception("Failed to find template SPAlertTemplateType.NewsPost in the template collection."); } list.AlertTemplate = newTemplate; list.Update(); Any assistance will be most welcome, thanks in advance. Creating assembly throwing an error as system.directoryservices assembly is not in the SQL Server

Hi, I am trying to create an assembly (DLL file that created by C# ) which uses System.DirectoryServices assembly. When I try with following script Create ASSEMBLY Addresstype From 'C:\ActiDirectoryFunctions\ActiveDirectoryFunctions.dll' I am getting following Error Assembly 'ActiveDirectoryFunctions' references assembly 'system.directoryservices, version=, culture=neutral, publickeytoken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a.', which is not present in the current database. SQL Server attempted to locate and automatically load the referenced assembly from the same location where referring assembly came from, but that operation has failed (reason: 2(The system cannot find the file specified.)). Please load the referenced assembly into the current database and retry your request. From above error message, I learnt that System.DirectoryServices assembly is not in the SQL Server. I am using SQL SERVER 2005 SP2 and .Net Framework 3 is there in the machine How to manually add this assembly into this SQL Server Machine? Please let me know if you know Thank you, Raj Dreaming a world without any war in anywhere

Access is denied when creating Alert me on a folder level permission is this a known bug?

Hi, A user is getting an Access Denied error when creating an Alert Me on a folder level. The security set to the user is, Read access to the list but without permission to Create an alert, and he has a Contributor access to the folder. The security was perfect, he can't create an alert to a list level, but Alert Me is available on a folder level. When the user clicks on the Alert Me on a specific folder it will bring him to the alert configuration page, BUT, he would get an Access Denied error when hitting the OK(Save) button. Is this a known issue in Item/folder level security? The fact that Sharepoint allows user to see Alert Me function I assume that it should function correctly, but this is not the case. Hope to hear from you guys! TIA!

Problem Creating Server Side Javascript

I have a custom control which creates client side Javascript in order for it to function. When the property .OnSelectScript is wrapped in an if...then that tests its length, the value of .OnSelectScript appears to be ignored when the Javascript is being generated. However, when I set the .text value of a test label to Javascript, it appears there. I have confirmed that the statement *does not* appear client side when I view the source for the page.

Property declaration for the control

    Public Property OnSelectScript() As String
            Return _OnSelectScript
        End Get
        Set(ByVal value As String)
            _OnSelectScript = value
        End Set
    End Property
    Private _OnSelectScript As String

Full SUB as designed

    Protected Sub Page_Load() Handles Me.Load

        Dim ClientSideJavaScript As New StringBuilder

        LabelSelectorTitle.Text = Me.Title
        Call LoadData()

        ClientSideJavaScript.Append("/*File: Test Selector.aspx.vb Sub: Page_Load()*/" & Chr(10))
        ClientSideJavaScript.Append("function setValue(ParentPopup, TargetDisplayControl, NewDisplayValue, TargetTextboxControl, NewKeyValue) {" & Chr(10))
