Can ASP.NET be used in sync with RDP to create a remote desktop manager ?

Hello all,      I am new to .NET but is in a circumstance were i need to submit a project in .NET ( not necessarily a web application - even a client server one would suffice ). I need this application to be able to : 1. Connect to remote client from my server computer2. See client computer's screen and work on it from my server to fix problems there3. Drag and drop files between my local server's screen and the screen on my computer displaying the remote client's screen4. Should be able to start a chat session ( text/audio) with this remote client's user to help fix him/her the problem5. If i am installing any s/w in the client - then i should get back this control over the client computer even after i do a system restart of the client computer from the serverMy doubt is : 1. Can i build a remote desktop control manager application as described above using .NET be it asp.net/winforms ?2. If so what all technologies do i need to use and which all protocols will i be using ideally - like ASP.NET, ADO, Winforms - RDP, FTP, HTTP etc ?3. If at all feasible - how complex is this project on a level of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest ?I am sorry if i am totally out of place or wrong. I am a novice and is new to .NETThanking you all in advance for your valuable help and suggestions.

How to Set Up Remote Desktop with Windows Mobile 6.1 Read more: http://www.brighthub.com/mobile/win

Most Windows Mobile 6.1 devices come with RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) as an optional component - one that allows the user of the device to interact with a remote PC running Windows XP (or Vista), whether it's situated in the home or office.
Setup on your PC First

It's a topic that is surrounded by mystery, due to a combination of secrecy and apathy - yet Remote Desktop Mobile on Windows Mobile 6.1 is surprisingly easy to set up, with great results.

Remote working via your Windows Mobile 6.1 device is likely to be something that happens rarely - such as when you need to urgently retrieve a file, for instance. Whatever the reason Remote Desktop needs to be enabled on your Windows desktop PC before you can continue.

Remote Desktop connection via website...

I really don't know were to post this question, so i hope this is the right section.

I would like to create a web application that would be possible for the users to remotely connect to their desktops. In a nutshell, Web-based Remote Desktop.

Is this possible? If so, how can i accoplish this with C# an ASP.NET?

How to prevent closing session when remote desktop is closed or we logged of?

It's known when we execute Coded UI tests on physical remote desktop computer and its window is minimized, closed or we logged off the tests fail. The reason is the session should be active to do all the UI actions.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to prevent closing session directly from the code? I mean could we write some code from our Coded UI tests that would prevent closing session?

Can we use any other way to workaround this? For example, executing tests from command line using tcm.exe.

Thank you in advance.

But, there's an error message:

Error 1 Interop type 'MSTSCLib.MsRdpClient7Class' cannot be embedded. Use the applicable interface instead. C:\gtk\GetRemoteDesktop\ConsoleRemoteDesktop\Program.cs 16 7 ConsoleRemoteDesktop

Remote access to SSAS (SQL Server 2008): problems with SQL Browser / UDP port 1434

Hello everyone,

since last Friday I'm fighting with an issue, which drives me crazy. I tried all the hints I found, but nothing worked. Now I address the community with a hope, that anyone can help me.

So, here is my situation: I have dedicated database server (server'S OS is Windows Server 2008, DBs are (1) SQL Server 2008 SE with all BI components, named instance and (2) SQL Server Express Edition, installed together with VS 2008), joined to our company's domain. My laptop is also in this domain. When I try to connect to the named instance of SSAS on that server from my laptop using SSMS or BIDS, connection fails. When I connect to SSAS on the server itself, it works.

What I did on Friday:

1) I opened all "SQL-server"-related ports in the server's firewall (including UDP port 1434 and TCP port 2382);

2) I tested UDP port with telnet (telnet <IP-address of the host> 1434) - ne response, neither localy nor remote;

3) portqry2 gives following output:
C:\PortQryV2>PortQry.exe -n <IP-address> -p UDP -e 1434

Querying target system called:

Attempting to resolve IP address to a name...

Failed to resolve IP address to name

UDP port 1434 (ms-sql-m service): LISTENING or FILTERED

Looking for a way to have my C# Application running on a Terminal Server in a Remote Desktop Session

I have an application written in C# that has a feature that when ran locally starts a second application with command line arguments.  When my application is ran on a Terminal Server in a remote desktop session, it needs to start the second application on the user's local PC.  I started looking into opening up Virtual Chanel on the server and creating the Virtual Chanel DLL on the client to read any incoming data and start the application but it seems very complicated to do in c# and overkill for something so simple.  I was wondering if anyone had an easier way for me to do this.

Thanks for your help,

VS2010 Professional .NET 4.0 Remote Debugging ASP Website Project

Trying to remote debug ASP website from VS2010 Pro to Windows Server 2003 machine.  Specifically, trying to debug a Web Service, but breakpoint says, "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document."  This happens for all compiled code though.  I have read this is due to missing PDB files and the work around is to manually copy them, as noted here.  Problem is, I cannot find any PDB files for my project, except referenced libraries, which I can remote debug.

  • web.config has <compilation debug="true">
  • Debugger is attached to wewp.exe process on remote server
  • Installed VS2010 remote debugger from DVD (as I can remote debug referenced libraries)

This is beyond frustrating.  I migrated my code from VS2008 .Net3.5 to VS2010 .Net4.0 to take advantage of the inherent multithreading framework.  Debugging works when using local host and was stable until deployment to test server.

Thanks in advance,

How do I preserve __viewstate between cross domain posts or how do I get a __viewstate of a Remote S

Here is what I want to do:
I have a local site in which I want to display data from a remote site
Lets say: I want to display data of http://www.abc.com/Default.aspx on my localhost

Now Default.aspx requires some post-data which it sends to itself. Thus the __viewstate and __eventvalidation are posted back to it by itself. I want to directly post the data to Default.aspx from localhost without opening Default.aspx and display the Default.aspx's response on my localhost.

The WebApp on http://www.abc.com is configured for __eventvalidation i.e. I cannot post-data to it from my localhost without getting a __viewstate from it. I also have to post the current __viewstate of http://www.abc.com/Default.aspx to itself

How can I accomplish it?
