Product: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition -- Error 29503. The SQL Server service failed to start. For more information, see the SQL Server Books Online topics, "How to: View SQL Server 2005 Setup Log Files" and "Starting SQL Server
The error is (1067) The process terminated unexpectedly.
Initially the SQL Server was running over there, later one day it stopped. When trying to start manually I got "The process terminated unexpectedly" error. Tthen I uninstalled it and tried to install again, but got "Error 29503. The SQL Server
service failed to start" error while installation and installation rolled back. If I install it using Local System and without "Enable User Instance" I get same error but after multiple retry it started. However my desktop application is not
running and giving error message "Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure process for the user instance. The connection will be closed".
I tried "sp_Configure .......... " and "Reconfigure" to enable user instance but still got "Failed to generate......" error.
Another problem is that SQL Server service starts in multiple retry.
I have tried most of the forum solutions however I am still getting the same error in my desktop application. Mos

I'm new to SSIS & require help for the below 2 query's:
1.We need to import data from Microsoft Access using SSIS 2005 to SQL server. Could you please let me know the steps involved to achieve this.
2. We have web access tool & data has been stored. I need to import the access data from the Web tool to SQL server using SSIS 2005
actually we are planning to move data from GreenPLum data base to SqlServer 2005 data base using SSIS as ETL tool. What type of connection manager can we use. Is to good to use OLEDB connection manager or ODBC connection manager.
Please give me a reply as soon as possible.
My home machine has sql 2005ÃÂ and Visual Studio 2005 installed. I uninstalled VS 2005 (RTM)ÃÂ and installed VS 2008 (RTM) in its place. I then found that the SSIS templates were missing. Lesson: don't uninstall VS 2005 if you want to use SSIS 2005!
1. Is there any "workaround" to this issue?
2. (If the answer to 1 is "No")ÃÂ I willÃÂ install VS 2008 side-by-side with VS 2005 on the same box.ÃÂ When the SSIS issue is finally resolved, can I uninstall VS 2005 without doing damage to theÃÂ VS 2008 install?
I am not a database guy, but am trying to get this issue resolved. Yesterday I got a call that nobody could connect to our databases. I checked the services and saw that the SQL server service wasn't running, and when I tried to start it manually,
I'm getting a 1814 error.
I did see that trying a sqlservr -f might shed some light on the problem, so I've attached the output of that.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be most grateful.....

I just installed SQLServer 2005 STD edition SP3 on an active/passive 2 node cluster, Intended to replace a SQLServer 2005 sp3 EE install (not
clustered) that is in production now using SSIS and SSRS. I would need to migrate the databases, reporting, and Integration Services over to the new server cluster.
Does it make sense to run on a SQL Server 2005 on a cluster if SSIS and SSRS are not cluster aware?
This is my 1st time adm
I am tryng to get the second node in a two node cluster to start sql services and come up in the cluster. The second node was configured and running in a cluster when at some point, the sql service and/or cluster service went down. Now the node
will not start...as in SQL service fails and the system log error is:
"The disk associated with cluster disk resource 'Disk Q:' could not be found. The expected signature of the disk was BF17D33C. If the disk was removed from the server cluster, the resource should be deleted. If the disk was replaced, the resource must be
deleted and created again in order to bring the disk online. If the disk has not been removed or replaced, it may be inaccessible at this time because it is reserved by another server cluster node."
and the Application log shows:
Error 2(The system cannot find the file specified.) occurred while opening file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\master.mdf' to obtain configuration information at startup. An invalid startup option might have caused the error. Verify
your startup options, and correct or remove them if necessary.
I had to edit the startup parameters on the second node because it appears it cannot "see" the original path, which was a network driv
