Learn how you can use MSBuild to customize your builds. Since it ships as a part of the .NET Framework, you don't even need to have Visual Studio installed on your machine.

If you've ever needed to build an easy-to-maintain intranet site, here's a solution based on Microsoft Office documents. Many sites require constant updating of their HTML, but the use of Word documents can simplify the process. This article details the construction of a human resources site that exploits the File System Object (FSO), OLE Structured Storage, and ActiveX capabilities of Word documents. This allows the HR staff to copy their revised or newly created Word files to the site, dynamically generate a list of links to their files, and free IS from the constant recoding of HR updates into new HTML pages.

I'm building a wpf application on Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2008, in this application I have 2 wmv files (100MB + 200MB), and when I press F5 to build then there's error appear: Unexpected error writing metadata to file 'D:\Project.exe' --
'Not enough storage is available to complete this operation'
And I do some research base on:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/msbuild/thread/059d2947-fea2-492f-a734-1b4c774408ce/ but I cannot change the result, so how can I solve this problem, thank you in advance.
I just used the wonderful tool Microsoft Ajax Minifier and
it's working very well when I build my MVC application on my machine but when I
check-in in source control and started build by the Team Build 2010 it doesn't
create the min files, for sure I can't put the mini files inside the source
control as the recommendation from the Microsoft Ajax Minifier because it's
like the dll it's generated every time you build your application so no need to
put it in source control beside it can't be because you will need always to
check-out this file to build and this will prevent other from build using the
team build, so what I need to do to make generate the mini file with team build
Hi. I think the title pretty explains the problem.
Is there any activities I can use to send my input script into a SQL server? (The script only contains INSERT INFO Header() VALUES () )
If not, could anyone give me any hints or directions to start on how to make SQL custom activity. (NOT how to create custom activity in general).
Thank you for any replies!
I'm trying to create a general build environment for multiple projects that can take a some command line parameters and execute a build based on a custom config file.
The problem I am having is after I read in the config parameters with MSBuild.Community.Tasks XMLQuery, which works fine, I can't get aspnet_complier to see these parameters.
I keep getting "error MSB3462: Either MetabasePath or VirtualPath must be specified."
Here is my project file:
<Project InitialTargets="PreMessage" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003"> <Target Name="PreMessage"> <Message Text="Building..." /> </Target> <PropertyGroup> <PreBuildEventDependsOn> PreBuild; </PreBuildEventDependsOn> <PrepareForBuildDependsOn> PreBuild; </PrepareForBuildDependsOn> <BuildDependsOn> PreBuild; $(BuildDependsOn) </BuildDependsOn> </PropertyGroup> <Import Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath)\MSBuildCommunityTasks\MSBuild.Community.Tas
