Please help: clr20r3, outofmemoryexception

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 14, 2011    Points: 0   Category :WPF

My .NET 3.5 application (VB .net 2008) abnormally shuts down with a message that "The application has encountered a problem and needs to shut down".

Checking the event viewer:

EventType clr20r3, P1 application_name.exe, P2, P3 4784d05b, P4 mscorlib, P5, P6 471ebc5b, P7 xxxx, P8 xx, P9 system.outofmemoryexception, P10 NIL.

The application is deployed successfully at many different clients. But only one of them is facing this problem intermittently. Sometimes this problem occurs 3 times in a day, while at other times it might occur once in a day or two.&n

EventType clr20r3, P1 devenv.exe, P2 9.0.30729.1, P3 488f2b50, P4 system.drawing, P5, P6 488

Hi,I am facing a strange issue in Visual Studio 2008 Standard SP1, when using WPF Designer (even without using the Designer tab, only XAML tab). Visual Studio crashes very often, without any apparent reason, and in various ways, for example: exits instantly, the IDE displays corrupted UI, when begining compiling it stops responding. There are two new Event Log entries after this: EventType clr20r3, P1 devenv.exe, P2 9.0.30729.1, P3 488f2b50, P4 system.drawing, P5, P6 4889dec2, P7 33d, P8 18, P9 system.outofmemoryexception, P10 NIL. .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3053 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A2E0F92) (0)Worth mentioning:- computer has Windows XP SP3 with the latest updates installed- it crashes on other computer types too- the project has quite a large number of UserControls - it appears that if opening a XAML file with the XML editor instead, it works ok- on other WPF projects it also works okDoes anyone have an ideea why is this happening and solutions? Thanks

'System.OutOfMemoryException' SQL Server 2005

Looking for a solution to SQL Server 2005 'System.OutOfMemoryException' error, or at least the root cause of this error.   Following please find:1) Description of problem2) Exact error message3) Query that fails (against large 'SourceTable', but works against smaller subsets of 'SourceTable' )4) Query that works (above, split apart) on any size table5) Machine and SQL configuration and versions DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM-------------------------------------------------------I am getting a 'System.OutOfMemoryException' error running a simple query on a large table in SQL SERVER 2005. If I run with a fresh boot, only me on the server, and only SQL Server Management Studio open with 1 query window, I'll get this error when I run it against my full-sized SourceTable.  Task Manager indicates there is still more than 7 Gig of physical memory available! (see system configuration at end of this note).   The query runs to competion if I run it against a smaller 'SourceTable'.    If I break out the matchup to the derived table from the query into a separate step, the query will run until completion against any size table I throw at it.   I've searched the web, and found that people are getting this error with SQL Server 2005, but not with SQL Server 2000.  It looks like people are encountering it in various queries that should work, and in other circumstances such as when runn

System.OutOfMemoryException while fetching 100000 records over WCF 10 times

Hi, I am testing bulk data transfer over WCF service and my scenario is as follows. WCF service contains method GetData which fetch data from DB(100000 records), fills datatable, converts this datatable to array of string and returns this array of string This service is hosted in the windows app programmatically (No config file) AT the client side, proxy object is created using channelfactory In a button click event, simply call to GetData method and holds it into string array, then covert this array back to datatable and assign this datatable to grid. I have written custom class to convert datatable to string array and vice versa which will be available on both sides. Now when I click button to execute this operation, then 9 times it works perfectly fine but on the 10th click it gives System.OutOfMemoryException in custom class method which coverts array to datatable and each time error is on different line. I am unable to find solution for it. I have tried setting all used objects to nothing wherever possible but the error still persists. Can anyone help me on this. Regards, PrabiI can be still better.

Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

Help Analyzing Memory Dump With OutOfMemoryException

I am receiving a system out of memory exception on my web server when users attempt to upload files.  The size of the files seem to be irrelevant as I have users who have large files uploading and some of the problem documents are rather small (~350Kb).  The web application seems to work fine on my own machine as well as others.  Is there something in the memory dump below that could point to the cause of the issue?  Thank you very much!

Our application is divided into 2 projects.

What could be the reason for this.

Is it null pointer exception or some other related to Interoperability assembly mscorlib.dll

.Net 2.0 errors in Windows XP .NET Runtime Optimization Service & EventType clr20r3

I have a program that runs on windows XP using .net 3.5 framework family. After many reinstalls using the redistributable package, the bootstrapper, and windows updates, when launching the program i get "".exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Event viewer shows this:

.Net Runtime 2.0 Error

EventType clr20r3, P1 "".exe, P2 2010.1.1012.1, P3 4c6168a1, P4 system.configuration, P5, P6 4889de74, P7 277, P8 14, P9 ioibmurhynrxkw0zxkyrvfn0boyyufow, P10 NIL.

There are also these errors in event viewer, that only showed up after installing using Windows Updates.

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Service reached limit of transient errors. Will shut down. Last error returned from Service Manager: 0x80029c4a.

I followed the advice in another msdn support request, http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netfxsetup/thread/f56cc6e4-c2bf-490c-b87b-3e22b1e6b935 that suggested running:

%windir%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe executequeuedstatus

%windir%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe queue status

and the requested output of the update command returns:

OutOfMemoryException when my library called via COM

A general design pattern we use for applications that generate statements from data files: A statement generator class library is created. It has a couple of properties to set input and output file names, and then a method to generate all of the statements. For testing we create an on-demand windows application which instances, and calls the library via CLR.  In production we have scripts which instance the component and calls the library via COM.  We are making perhaps 4 property value sets, and then making 1 method call. We don't call our generate method for each statement created, but rather, one call to generate all of the statements.

We have several applications generated in this pattern. A few of them generate perhaps 100,000 to 250,000 pages of statements in the generate call.  We create our own PCL files, directly using SYSTEM.IO.

NEVER when run interactively, invoking our library via CLR do we ever have any problem.

When run in production, these applications will fail after about 1 hour wall time with System.OutOfMemoryException.

Does .NET runtime memory management (GC) operate DIFFERENTLY when a class library is invoked via a COM interface, as opposed to a CLR interface?  If not, then what other things to consider?
