How to get the value of Indexer using PropertyDescriptor

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 14, 2011    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

I'm having the following class structure, I need to get the indexer to set and get its value using PropertyDescriptor.

 public class SampleObject
        private Dictionary<string, string> Details = new Dictionary<string, string>();

        public string this[string index]
                return this.Details[index];

Consistently running out of page file memory with full text indexer

Using MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 x64 Standard Edtion on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise, I'm about to full-text index for the first time 1 table and 2 views. The table contains about 250'000 entries with a data space of 180 MB. As soon as I activate the full text indexing, the fdhost.exe task starts to consume slowly but surely all the available page file space (this can be easily watched using the Resource Monitor and the Commit Charge graph on the memory tab). Once all the virtual memory has been consumed, the server becomes unusable since it can't open any new windows any more, and RDP stops working. The machine specs are as follows: 12 GB of RAM 80 GB free on hard disk out of 136 GB 8 CPUs Custom size paging file with sizes between 24 GB - 60 GB (originally, this was system managed size, but then the server ran out of memory sooner) Max SQL server memory set to 6 GB (first 10 GB, then 8 GB) I've set the max fulltext crawl range to 8. During the indexing, the 8 CPUs are bit busy for a while, but not excessively. What is astonishing is that there is almost no use of physical memory during the indexing (I can see an increase from 2 GB to 3 GB which still leaves plenty of RAM available). Does anybody have an idea how I can convince fdhost.exe to consume physical memory and leave the paging memory alone? Or what else can I try?

Backup/indexer problem

I attempted to run a backup and got an error. The command and error are listed below:

Stsadm -o Backup -directory <backup folder> -backupmethod full

An indexer is not assigned to the Shared Services Provider 'SharedServices_64bit'.

I then went to Shared Services Administration: SharedServices_64bit and under Search clicked on Search settings.

The heading of the page that came up was Error, followed by

An indexer is not assigned to the Shared Services Provider 'SharedServices_64bit'.

Configure an indexer and a search database for this Shared Services Provider

I clicked on the "Configure an indexer ... " link and got this:

An unhandled exception occurred in the user interface.Exception Information: The specified account name is invalid.
Parameter name: account

I checked the Event logs

This server is not the indexer of this search application.

I encoutered this problem "This server is not the indexer of this search application."

Im stuck on this problem and i need to use the search engine.

Is there any sharepoint administrator here?

Thanks guys

Getting PropertyDescriptor from PropertyInfo

I'm having a class in which I will have, indexer, simple typed(string, int..) property and dictionary. I need to get and set the values of these properties and indexer of this class using PropertyInfo or PropertyDescriptor.

Now my question is when I try to get the list of properties by using PropertDescriptor, it’s not returning the indexer of that object as a property. If i use the PropertyInfo I can get the indexer as property in the name of "Item", but to set and get the value in PropertyInfo is complicated where as it is easy in PropertyDescriptor. I need an easy way to get the inderex as well as need to get and set the value in the easy manner.

So If there is any was to get the PropertyDescriptor from PropertyInfo it will be much helpful for me.

Please give me your suggestion. It is important for my project.

My class Structure:

  public class SampleObject
        private Dictionary<string, string> _details = new Dictionary<string, string> { { "AA", "" }, { "BB", "" }, { "CC", "" }, { "DD", "" } };

        public SampleObject()
