I'm running into a WPF Grid weirdness. (It's similar to an issue not really answered in this thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/wpf/thread/090b9c3e-0e43-4961-9a94-503da749b88c)
Here's my grid:

Pass a grid column value to a Modal

Hi, I have a requirement to hide a field called details on a gridview and show it in a jQuery modal dialog when users click on the Customer ID hyperlink. This grid is created programmatically. I will be hiding the details column via the CSS display:none property. Does some one know how can I pass the grid's selected hidden column value to the modal? Here is some of the code I started:

            GridView mygrid = new GridView();
            //.....................................More columns code for the grid

            //Here is where I need to pass the Details column value associated with the customer ID field selected to the Modal and open the Modal dialog.
            HyperLinkField linkField = new HyperLinkField();
            string[] dataNavigateUrlFields = { "CustomerID" };
            linkField.DataTextField = "CustomerID";

Filtering a grid column when the column is bound to a collection

My SetUp (I am using EF for my data):

1 Grid bound to a collection of Vehicle Objects

1 Combobox with multiselect enabled bound to a list of VehicleExtras.

Each vehicle has a collection of extras.

My Problem:

What I need to do is have the Grid filter Vehicles based on whether those vehicles have the selected VehicleExtras from the Combobox

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how this filtering should be done (if it is at all possible!)

Grid Column in Sharepoint.

I need to create a grid column type for sales team of my company: Please have a look at following image. Grid column type in above example - this column type is just making single choices on each row - I need something which can allow various types of columns inside the grid more like a table. So that I can have columns like Qty(number), Cost(number), From Dept(drop-down), To Dept (drop-down) as column heads against the products - so all info of the products can be inside a single column (instead of multiple items in a list) and yet the info is linked row-wise i.e. qty in first row belongs to product 1 - they are linked for the purpose of filtering records later on. By the way, the responses of this form are saved in a spreadsheet like any normal google form - will email the link to this spread sheet as well. Is this possible? Are there any column features or webparts available for same? Apreciate all help!. -saumil

WPF DataGrid Column Width issue

I have a simple window with 2 tabs, and 4 datagrids.  I set up each one with similar, if not identical settings.  They all get their own DataSet based binding, and have standard Text columns, and combo box columns.  Recently (past week) of development, while I was adding filtering/sorting/grouping features to my program, the column widths have begun to ingore my settings.  By collapsed I mean approx 20 pixels wide (just enough for the sorting Icon). Contacts datagrid, works great in run time, but in design time the columns are all collapsed. ContactsToClients data grid has no abnormal issues Clients datagrid AND Clients to Contacts datagrid look great in design time, but show collapsed columns in run time. How do I hunt down the problem?  I've tried removing all the temporary code, and rebuilding, closing Visual Studio and reopening.  I've remmed out the sorting code.  None of these have any affect.  It appears that my settings are all being ignored.  Here is the XAML code:   <Window x:Class="wdContacts" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:my

WPF DataGrid specify column width from code behind

I have DataGrid, initially I create a DataTable with column headers and bind this to DataGrid. when user click on refresh button I will bring data and bind it again.

In the first step, I will create columns in DataTable with no rows and bind that to datagrid to just to display column headers with empty rows.

DataGrid1.DataContext = DataTable1.DefaultView;

DataGrid1.ItemsSource = DataTable1.DefaultView;

when i try to get the columns count here, it comes as zero. As this data changes everytime based on user click, I have to specify column width in code behind.

Can anyone help me how to assign column width from code behind so that we can adjust column spacing for better user view.

Unable to set GridView Column Width

Hello all,

I have been searching the internet for a solution to this for hours. I have tried all of the following methods to set the column width on my GridView control:

1. <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="ColumnHeader" ItemStyle-Width="100px">

2. <ItemStyle Width="100px" Wrap="False" />

3. GridView.Columns[0].ItemStyle.Width = 100 both on the PageLoad event and, out of desperation, on the RowDataBound event.

I have tried these settings by themselves and in combination. I have also experimented with different CSS width settings for the GridView and its containing <div> (including none) to no avail. The GridView columns are always equally spaced and wrap the row description text in the first column in a rather ugly fashion.

As this needs to be fixed for a presentation to a client on Monday, I would be eternally grateful to anyone who could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

 When I have a select a row in a Data Grid that when I click on it I want it to show the info for the person I selected in a form view on the same page as the Data Grid. Here are the columns for the Data Grid that I have set up, the column is highlighted:

Report Viewer column width too small when viewing in IE 8, works in IE 8 compatibility view and Fire

IE 8 Version 8.0.7600.16385 64-Bit Edition
Report Viewer

The web page is just the report viewer control (see code below).

When the report is rendered in Report Viewer   (IE 8), the width of the first column is much smaller than it should be.
When the report is rendered in Report Manager (IE 8), the width of the first column is normal size.
When the report is rendered in Report Viewer (Firefox or IE 7 compatibility view), the width of the first column is normal size.

Clone GridView-Columns Widths (assign the Column-Width from 1 Gridview to another)

Hi everyone,

I've googled quite a lot, but couldn't find a solution - in the end this forum always helped me out the best! :)

This is my problem: I've got my Gridview gv_1, it gets its data from the code behind through a DataSet, gets generated like it should be, and assigns it's column-width to the longest entry in the datarow. Now I've got my Gridview gv_2, which has other entries and column widhts (gets filled the same way) - what I want to do is to change the width of the columns that the gridviews have the same overall width.

I've uploaded a screenshot: http://stepdown.elementfx.com/image16.jpg

What I've already tried is playing around with the GridView.HeaderRow.Cells[0].Width-Property, but when I debug it (after it's DataBound) I've got no values, meaning the values are "0.0" etc. The try to assign a value also didnt work (not directly for Width and not for Width.Value).

The next problem I could encounter is that my second GridView has no visible HeaderRow - and as far as I've googled people always somehow set the width of the column - but I'm not even that far yet. ;)

So the perfect solution (working in my head at least) would be to get the width of each column from the 2 gridviews, pick the larger one, and ass

WPF: how can ListBox display three columns: first and thrid column width base on the longest content

We try to use ListBox to display three columns: so the first and last column width will depend on the longest content in that column to decide and second column take the rest of space as its width.

How can we use ListBox to achive that?

should we try with the ListView? thx!

Setting the canvas height and width to Grid size

I have a canvas and I have it set to the following attributes

 Grid.Row="1" Grid.RowSpan="2" Grid.Column="0" Grid.ColumnSpan="2"

However I want the canvas height and width to fill those locations. Also upon window resize i want the canvas height and width to adjust accordingly.

Any ideas? Thanks all

WPF Data Grid - How to hide the next column/row that is visible?

I'm using a WPF data grid to bind to an object (i.e. not a database). I have the horizontal alignment on Stretch. I currently have it within a Border, which is within a Grid.

However when I run the application the DataGrid has a blank column and grid showing. That is say I have 5 columns & 5 rows, then there is a blank 6th column and row showing. See image:

Question - How can I get rid of these blank rows? Note that the contents of the DataGrid are populated programmatically (i.e. are not static).
