Dynamically Create Controls in ASP.NET with Visual Basic .NET

This step-by-step article describes how to dynamically create controls for an ASPX Web page.

The sample project does the following:

It verifies that the TextBox contents (TextBox.text) and attributes are saved across posts to the server.
It describes how events that are posted by a dynamically created control are handled.

Dynamic WPF: Create Flexible UIs With Flow Documents And Data Binding

Flow documents offer enormous flexibility in arranging text layout and pagination, but they don't support data binding, so you can't dynamically change content. Here we build a component to solve that problem.

Office 2003: Host an Interactive Visio Drawing Surface in .NET Custom Clients

Microsoft Office Visio 2003 introduces a new drawing component that allows you to embed an interactive drawing surface into your application's user interface. You can drive the Visio drawing component from events in your host application or with data from a Web Service and an ADO.NET data adapter. The Visio drawing component supports the rich Visio application programming model, giving you control over how graphics are used and displayed on the drawing surface. This article explains how to embed the Visio drawing component into a C#-based Windows Forms client app that retrieves data from the Fabrikam 2.0 Web Service.

Delegates in .NET: A Primer on Creating Type-Safe References to Methods in Visual Basic .NET

Delegates, new in Visual Basic .NET, are type-safe, object-oriented references to methods. By using delegates, you make your methods accessible to others and therefore more extensible. This article provides an introduction to delegates, their benefits, and how they are used.Here the author shows you how to declare, create, and use delegates to invoke instance and shared methods at run time, and how to implement delegates as properties. He then goes on to provide examples of how delegates are used for callback functionality and explains the relationship between delegates and events. Finally, the article provides a glimpse at how delegates are implemented in intermediate language code by the Visual Basic .NET compiler.

Create buttons for "new item" which create a new page of a specific content type

We have a Pages library (wiki) which supports a few content types (and page layout associated). We want to enable users to click a button for example of "new custom enterprise wiki page" - so a new page of content type article will be open in edit mode. Can someone help how to develop? (it has to mimic the behavior that happens when user creates new page from the Ribbon or Site actions and has to choose the content type, it also has to keep the new page in edit mode and not just create it).

Basic data type problem with database insert

Hi,I'm trying to write some values into a database, but I think there's an issue with the data types.  Here's what I've got: public static string Hello(string pageId, string inOut) { string itemId = ""; string period = ""; var cookie = HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies["visitorGUID"].Value; SqlConnection conn; SqlCommand comm; conn = new SqlConnection(GlobalSettings.DbDSN); comm = new SqlCommand("INSERT INTO myTable (memberGUID) VALUES (@memberGUID);", conn); comm.Parameters.Add("@memberGUID", System.Data.SqlDbType.Text); comm.Parameters["@memberGUID"].Value = cookie; try { conn.Open(); comm.ExecuteNonQuery(); return "Item added: cookie = " + cookie + " / pageId = " + pageId + " / inOut = " + inOut + " / pageId = " + pageId + " / itemId = " + itemId + " period = " + period; } catch { return "Item caught: cookie = " + cookie + " / pageId = " + pageId + " / inOut = " + inOut + " / pageId = " + pageId + " / itemId = " + itemId + " period = " + period; } finally { conn.Close(); } } At the moment I'm just trying to insert the value of the cookie into the database as a test.  It works fine when I

Visio Web Drawing Not Working

Hello   I have created a Visio 2010 Drawing, and saved it as a web drawing to my sharepoint 2010 server. Visio 2010 - Version: 14.0.4760.1000 (32-bit) SharePoint 2010 - Version 14.0.4763.1000 (64-bit) When i create a page and add a visio web access webpart and then open my web drawing i get an error which reads: 'The Server failed to process the request' The Event Viewer shows the following error: Failed to get Vector Diagram for visio file page Exception : The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error. For more information about the error, either turn on IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults (either from ServiceBehaviorAttribute or from the <serviceDebug> configuration behavior) on the server in order to send the exception information back to the client, or turn on tracing as per the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 SDK documentation and inspect the server trace logs. I have tried google, bing and technet but cant find an answer. I have a secure store target spplication id set up and credentials set and have added that information to the visio graphic service global settings. Any ideas what i can do to fix this issue?
