Exchange Server 2007 SP1 mailbox migration into 2010

Hi Everyone, I’ve got all in one Exchange Server 2007 SP1 RU3 that got all in one role installed (HT-CAS-MBx) in Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 SP which is also running as domain controller with all FSMO role. I’m planning to migrate the Exchange Server 2007 server role into the Exchange Server 2010 Standard that I have prepared in my Virtual Machine of Windows Server 2008 R2, what is the safest migration path to make the email flow working end to end parallel (staging migration process). (please also not that this Exchange Server 2007 SP1 got so many problem like – OOF email error in Outlook 2007, meeting scheduler stopped working, etc… therefore updating it into SP3 is not the way here and I've backed up the mailbox using Backup Exec 2010 in case i can just restore the backed up mailbox into the new server 2010 if possible) My this is what I’m about to do: 1. Transfer all FSMO role into another domain controllers 2. Install and configure similar role in the new VM (Exchange Server 2010 Std.) 3. Confused… Things to do after all mailbox migration: 1. Cutover the MX record into the new server name 2. Install updated UCC- SSL certificate into the exchange server 2007 Any kind of help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated. SP 2007 to 2010 migration and compatibility

Will web parts written for SP2007 work in SP2010 or is it neccesary to re-write? The web parts concerned make extensive use of connection interfaces and tool parts.

Migration from WSS 3.0 & MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010

Hi All,

I am kiran and working on some migration project.

I am stuck with some basic questions,

1. I have got couple of hudred WSS 3.0 sites

2. I have got couple of hundred MOSS 2007 Enterrprise sites

I need to migrate both the above to SharePoint Server 2010 platform.

My Question is,

1. Can I directly migrate WSS 3.0 sites to SharePoint 2010 env? Is there any need to step up to MOSS 2007 and then to SharePoint 2010? Becuase all documentations talk about migrating MOSS 2007 to SS 2010.

Your help is appreiciated.

Also can you link me to some sound help links please?

Looking for guidance: Integrated SharePoint SSRS migration and upgrade from 2007 to 2010

Our existing prod farm is MOSS 07 with an integrated SSRS instance using SQL Server 2008, both on Windows Server 2003 64bit boxes. SharePoint databases are on a different SQL Server 2008 server.

I have built a new SharePoint 2010 farm on Windows Server 2008 R2 boxes, using a single SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise server as the backend for both SharePoint databases and Reporting Services (installed in Integrated mode). We are going to be using the database-attach method of upgrading our SharePoint farm.

Is there any specific guidance out there on exactly how to migrate/upgrade Reporting Services in this scenario? I've read through some of the MSDN content (How To: Migrate a Reporting Services Installation) but nothing seems to deal specifically with doing this when in Integrated mode with SharePoint. Our business heavily relies on SSRS reports in SharePoint and also shared and custom report subscriptions via email.

We do have a dev SharePoint 2010 farm in a similar configuration that I can test migration/upgrade steps. Thanks.

Sharepoint 2010 look and feel same as 2007

Is it possible to have the same look and feel/theme of sharepoint 2007 in SP 2010? Even when you upgrade from 2007 to 2010, how can you retain the default look and feel of 2007 in your new SP 2010? thanks.

Cannot crawl sharepoint site and mysite after database attach upgrade form sharepoint 2007 to 2010.

After database attach upgrade site and mysite from sharepoint 2007 to 2010 , I have full crawl and get "The crawler could not communicate with the server. Check that the server is available and that the firewall access is configured correctly. If the repository was temporarily unavailable, an incremental crawl will fix this error. ( Error from SharePoint site: HttpStatusCode ServiceUnavailable The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable. )" for mysite and get "Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled." for sharepoint site. The content access account for search is "db_owner" of both of site and mysite. How do I solved this problem ?

Sharepoint Foundation 2010 problems with Office 2007 ActiveX controls

I have a SPF server that I recently upgraded from WSS 3 using the database attach method. The new server configuration is SQL 2008 R2 with SPF 2010 on Windows 2008 64bit SP2. Mostly things are working fairly well, though there have been a few fires to put out. The latest inflamation seems to be centered around ActiveX controls for Office 2007. I'm getting the following message whenever I try to create a new document using the New button: " 'New Document' requires a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible application and web browser. To add a document to this document library, click the 'Upload Document' button." On the client side, the browser is IE8 on Windows 7 (Windows is 64bit, though the browser is in 32 bit mode.) using Office 2007. I've also had the same problem with systems running XP. In terms of troubleshooting, other activeX related features seem to be working fine. I can open datasheet views, if I click on a document, it will open in the appropriate client. However, I have some libraries where the Word document template opens the document information panel and those will give thhe following message on open: "One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either: 1)Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on thi page , or 2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the contols. As a result the page mi
