I am frustrated with this challenge for populating default values for filters in report builder. Here are the steps that I am performing.
I have clicked on the filter icon, then dragged the dimension to the filter pane, switched the properties to Prompt and changed the operator to 'in this list'.
by default the value selected is 'no value selected', Microsoft online tutorials says that this should automatically populate the filter criteria with the default list of values for the underlying dimension. However it dosen't
How do I populate this filter with default list of values.
I am trying to build a report using the date field from CRM and only wanting to return the date I am using this expression "=Fields!new_date.Value.ToShortDateString()" but when there is an empty fiel I get #Error. How do I solve this?
Also is there anyway to return the date field with the actual month showing instead of the numerical value? i.e. instead of 1/31/2010 Have it show January 31, 2010 (Doesn't have to be exactly in that format, but want the name value for the month.)
My Data was created by retrieving ODBC data - using PowerPivot for Excel 2010, and has Birthdate defined as a Data Type = "Date". This was uploaded to SharePoint, and a New Dataset was created to point at it.
I'm using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Report Builder 3.0. I tried to filter this data on Birthdate, but when I go into the Filter, and specify the field that was defined as DataType = "Date" in PowerPivot - Report Builder changes the type to "Text",
and gray's out the field so that I can't change it to "Date".
If I create an Expression as Cdate(Birthdate.Value), it lets me change the Data Type to "Date", and works appropriately, but we don't want to have to do this with every date field.
Why doesn't Report Builder see this field as a Date ?
I upgraded our enterprise sql server 2008 to sql server 2008 r2 last weekend. Along with this i installed the report builder 3.0 on the servers as well and the updated ssrs add in for sharepoint. The upgrade went fine, no errors that i could
find. The problem is now when i go to a library that has the report builder content type enabled and click report builder report under new it does not load report builder 3.0.
I updated the custom report builder url in central administration from /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application to /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application
however when i do click the new report builder report it kicks me over to
http://company.com/ReportServer_MossEnt which itemizes out each individual sharepoint site in the farm.
Is the integration of ssrs 2008 r2, sharepoint 2007 and report builder 3.0 work? did i install the wrong version of the report builder add in? The above is the only problem i am having now.
all servers are server 2008, 64 bit and moss 2007 enterprise with sp2 & april 2010 cu
We are using below Topology in productionTopology is 3 servers: Sever1: Sharepoint Form (wss3.0 no MOSS) Sever2: Sql server 2008Server3: Reporting Services 2008Operating system on 3 servers: Windows server 2008.Authentication mode: Form based authentication. SSRS reports are working success fully in SharePoint using above topology, The issue is through SharePoint library when i am trying to access report builder reports the client is installing, after enter the credentials it is not connecting to server and am getting the following error "Unable to connecting server at 'http://servername/Reports/Forms/AllItems.aspx' please use different url" The above issue on production only. But in local development box there is no problem (in my development box SharePoint t, database (sql) and reporting service sits on my box only) Thanks for your he
