When I click on a pdf document uploaded in a document library it comes up with a blank page.
I guess it's trying to open pdf on the browser. I turned off "Display PDF in browser " option in Adobe Preferences, but it doesn't help, same issue.
I tried other browsers too, it's the same issue.
I am able to open all other pdf files local to my machine fine.
I am using IE 8 on my machine (Windows 7) and the Sharepoint server is MOSS 2007.
We have a document library on a site created off of the Report Center site template. We uploaded a Word 2007 document with the word zebra in the text. Using the search bar at the top of the page we selected This list: Our document library and searched for
zebra. We received no results.
We tested the same thing on another site (site template Team site) within the same site collection and search worked fine.
Does the Report Center search function differently then the search functionality on the Team site?
I have 7 site collections containing a few hundred team collaboration sites. Some users are internal (intranet) but most are external (extranet). Extranet users are experiencing problems with losing links to their sites and forgetting which URLs to
use. So I would like to create a single entry page that all users can enter after the logon process, which shows a list of sites they have permission to access, and other user-specific information. Perhaps relevant documents, tasks, recently modified documents
I know this sounds like a 'My Site' but we want to use use a general welcome page instead. We use Windows authentication.
What is the best way of doing this and is it something that can be done in SharePoing Designer or does it need to be done in Visual Studio?
Many thanks in advance.
We're running two MOSS 2007 environments that are (should be!) identical for Development and Validation. We don't have Production set up yet to compare...
In DEV, when you go to the Site Settings > View All Site Settings > People and Groups > Groups, you see a "1 - 100 >" link at the top right to page to the next 100 groups. In VAL, we do not see that link even though we have more than 100
Groups (the list ends on the first page with the letter "l").
Everything we have looked at between the two systems looks identical, has anyone seen something similar and has a fix? At this point we're waiting until we get the PRD environment set up to compare because we're stumped. Any help would be appreciated,

Users are receiving errors when trying to check in documents.
"The Web server is busy. Try again later."
"This document was checked out to your local drafts folder but the local copy could not be checked in to the site. Close any application that is editing the document and try to check in again, or discard the checkout."
"There is a problem with the Web server. Try again later, or contact the server administrator."

Does anyone know if the Site Collection Usage Report includes activity that occurs from Outlook? For example, if a user contributes to a discussion board without ever physically touching the site or if the user just reads list content from Outlook,
is this included?
ANY help at all is greatly appreciated.
I have kept a help link (ex: http://www.msdn.com) under a document library field's description. i want this link to be opened in a new window with out navigating from that page.
