SharePoint 2007 alert me sent out mail with wrong message

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 14, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

I have created a document library, and this doc library has set alert me. On this doc library, there is field name Category, this is a multiple check box with value like A, B, C, D.

I uploaded a document Test.doc as sample with Category D, then the new added item alert email was sent out. And problem came out, in the alert email body, the item Text.doc with wrong Category A instead of D.

I tried another two items again with Category B and C, but all these items with wrong Category A in the alert email body.

Can any body give help on this? Thank you so much!

Problem with incoming mail to SharePoint Library - what is wrong with this?

I configured my incoming mail to a SharePoint 2010 library according to these instructions. http://intellects.in/2010/04/04/configuring-sharepoint-2010-document-libraries-with-exchange-server-2010-to-receive-mails-from-internalexternal-world/ I'm able to receive mail at the Exchange mailbox set up for the document library, but am unable to receive the document in the library itself.  I'm thinking it's because I have a problem with my naming - but I'm not sure how to solve it: I have a SharePoint box and an Exchange box. I've configured the SMTP virtual server with default domain of  server.domain.com .  I've also assigned it an alias of domain2.net I've configured incoming email in SharePoint Central Administration to use the address of mylist@domain2.net so that users can have a friendly url for sending documents to lists and libraries. I've created an Attended Domain in Exchange 2010 and set up an email address policy that speicifes all mailboxes receive an domain2.net address.  I have an MX record for the domain2.net address with a DNS server pointing to the Exchange box. I've created an SMTP Send Connector that points to the FQDN server.domain.com of my virtual server on my SharePoint box. With that connector, I've chosen to route mail through the same FQDN of server.domain.com , that of my SharePoint/IIS SMTP Virtual Server box. When I confi

How to stop the mail trigger while editing a task list item in sharepoint 2007

But when I am editing the same task item again a mail is sent to the Assigned to user which I want to stop. Is there any out of box feature / settings to stop this mail trigger while editing. Early response is much appreciated.Deeptyranjan

Mail Enable Sharepoint 3.0 with Exchange 2007 on same server.

Windows 2008 SBS with 2007 and Sharepoint 3.0.  I can create the email contact and it works fine but when I attempt to send the email with the attached document I get the following error and the email never makes it to the document library.

#554 5.4.4 SMTPSEND.DNS.MxLoopback; DNS records for this domain are configured in a loop ##

Can I get the STEP by STEP procedures to mail enable a Document Library on Sharepoint 3.0 with EXCHANGE 2007 on the same server or is there a simple fix that I can do to get this resolved.

PLEASE advise ASAP. I have been working on this issue off and one for weeks and the client really wants this for their timesheets.

Thanks in advance!

Sharepoint 2007 publishing site home page displays unknown file type security message

I am using sharepoint 2007 sp2, it has been workig fine for the past 8 months but since one of the developers installed .net 4.0 framework, every time we create a new sharepoit publishng site or extend and existing application the home url displays an "Unknown File Type" security warning message and asks users to download the file.  If i manually tupe in the full url http://www.mysite.com/pages/default.aspx it is displayed correctly. I have uninstalled .net 4 from the server but i still have the same  error. I have tried to replicate this error on a development server but sharepoitn works fine on that even with .net 4.0 installed.

Has anyone had the same issue ? I would appreciate  any suggestios or help with troubleshootig this issue.

SharePoint 2010 alert emails are displaying strange symbols in outlook 2007

After recently setting up alerts in SharePoint 2010, when receiving email alerts the format looks pretty screwed up.  We are using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007.  When setting up SharePoint outgoing email, the character set is 65001 (Unicode UTF-8).   Below is a picture of the email.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Sharepoint 2007 Farm email alert failure

We have a strange problem with our Sharepoint 2007 farm(Servers are 1 Sql Server 2008, 1 WFE, 1 Central Admin, 1 Index, 1 Qry, all  Windows Server 2008 64-bit).   I've searched for 4 days for a solution, without any luck. (I'm sure it doesn't help that I'm new to the care and feeding of Sharepoint.  I was initially reluctant to take on the responsibility because of my inexperience with the product and our consultants recommendation for a dedicated resource, but "ya gotta do what ya gotta do"...)

The initial problem reported on 4/5/2011 was that Sharepoint had stopped sending email alerts when items were updated.  This has been a recurring issue, although the problem has not always been within the Sharepoint environment boundaries(the email server in one notable case was the problem), but many times the problem has originated within Sharepoint.

As I checked into it, the problem this time appeared to be due to the Timer Job not running.  I checked the timer service, and for good

Write Custom WebParts for SharePoint 2007

The popularity of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 led Microsoft to tightly integrate the next SharePoint version, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, with its ASP.NET 2.0 WebPart framework. This tight integration enables the ASP.NET and SharePoint developer to do a number of things that previously weren't possible

SharePoint 2007 Workflows - Things to Consider Before You Start

SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) utilizes the Workflow Foundation (WF) to enable workflows on lists and content types. But before you start doing cartwheels there are few things you should know before you get started. The experiences I'll be discussing are not from book smarts but from building real MOSS solutions that are in production today.

Writing Custom Web Parts for SharePoint 2007

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, SharePoint 2007 is built on top of ASP.NET 2.0, which means you can now use ASP.NET 2.0 features (Forms Authentication, Master Pages, Membership, Site Navigation, New Data Controls, etc) when building SharePoint sites. This is true for both the new Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 version (which will be a free download) as well as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (which costs money).
