From any SharePoint page, if you click "Welcome (Name)" in the upper right-hand corner and select "My Settings", you are taken to a page that is titled "User Information: (Name) - (domain\logiin)". What displays on this page is data about the logged in user. Does anyone have ideas as to where this data is coming from? It does not pull directly from the profile database as the data is not current. I assume it pulls from some location that is a snapshot of how the data in the profile DB looked with the Site Collection was created.
A user brought this to my attnetion. She was recently married and her name has been changed in all of our IT systems, including Active Directory and the SharePoint Profile database; however, on our portal homepage, it still welcomes her using her maiden name. After looking at my own data, I realized that it is not current. Our AD was not fully populated when our portal was created and this reflects that incompleteness.
Did we do something wrong on our deployment or is this just how SharePoint functions?ÃÂ Either way,ÃÂ how do I refresh that data?
