Error submitting form with anonymous access because of workflow

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 14, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

Hi All,

I’m running MOSS 2007, not using InfoPath.

I have a list set up to accept registrants for upcoming events. A customized form was attached to the list to collect sign-up information. The registrants may be authenticated users or people outside of the organization, so I enabled anonymous access for the list, with permissions to Add Items. Once the form is submitted, users are directed to a Thank You page. Two workflows were also added: the first to send an e-mail saying "thank you for registration"; the second, an Approval workflow to approve or reject registrants and send a follow-up e-mail regarding their status.

When the input form is submitted, the process works fine for authenticated users. The data for anonymous users populates the list as expected, but an Error page is generated: "The data source control failed to execute the insert command."  Through research, I've since learned that workflows cannot be initiated by anonymous users. I changed both workflows to start manually, and when that didn't work, I turned them both off completely, but the problem persists.

I've read about impersonation, RunWithElevatedPrivileges, event handlers and automatically signing in anonymous users as a Guest. But I don't have access to the servers and I'm not a programmer, so I need an easier solut

Anonymous users submitting Infopath forms via InfoPath Form Web Part

Is there a way for anonymous users in a public facing site to submit InfoPath List Forms via an InfoPath Form Web Part? Currently when I go to a page with the InfoPath Form web part configured as an anonymous users I get the following error message: Error loading the form A form template (.xsn) file cannot be accessed. You may not have the required permissions to open the file The list allows anonymous users permissions to add and view items When logged in the form works fine

Access Denied/The workflow could not copy the item workflow error after Sharepoint 2010 upgrade

We have a sharepoint designer workflow that copies a document from one library to another on the same site.  Before the upgrade to 2007 it worked fine, but now with 2010 it gives an error and cancels the workflow when it gets to the copy list item step.   The error on the workflow page: The workflow could not copy the item. Make sure the source and destination lists have the same columns and column settings.  Access Denied   Specifically it is the "copy list item current item to documentlibrary" sharepoint designer workflow action.   I have given the system account full permissions to the library and double checked that all columns are the same in both libraries. Error submitting browser enabled form using this.Submit()

I'm trying to submit my Infopath form by calling this.Submit() method from my button click event handler.  According to Microsoft - Note: You can write a custom submit event handler for the Submit event, and then you can programmatically call the event handler by using the Submit method. This type or member can be accessed from code running in forms opened in Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 or in a Web browser. Its not working for me and throws this exception  - XmlForm.Submit cannot be called from the SubmitEventHandler. BTW - I'm able to submit same form without any problem if I don't use this "Submit()" method.  I really want to know why its behaving like this.  Looks like a BUG.  Thanks, Suhaib Khan

Problems submitting anonymous form via email.

I followd the steps here to configure an InfoPath form to be submitted anonymously. After much trial and error (I'm not a developer, and this was the first time I ever used Visua Studio), I got it working. I now want a second libary that uses pretty much the exact same form, but submits the completed form via email rather than into the document library. I made a copy of my first form template and then changed the submit connection to email. Unfortunately, when I publish this form and try to submit it, I get a error message that "there has been an error processing the form." Any ideas on what might be going on? Here is the working version that submits to the library. Here is the NOT working version.

Error submitting InfoPath Web Form

I recieve a message "The form cannot be submitted because of an error" when submitting to a SP Doc Lib.  Design Checker doesn't register any errors.  I have checked the form and don't see anything that would cause the error.  I have also compared the DL columns with the form to ensure they match.  Not sure how to check on the server for this error....

I have a workflow that works fine on our development server...However on the production server it gives the exception below....

I have compared the configuration on both the servers and its the same.
I have hard to get around this error...

Access Denied error when attaching VS2008 workflow debugger to 64-bit IIS if VS2008 user differs fro

I am trying to attach VS2008 to debug a workflow hosted in IIS (using the workflow debugger option so I can step through the visual workflow designer breakpoints, not the managed code debugger).  It is actually a WF 3.5 WCF workflow service hosted in IIS but I don't think that is the issue.  When I attach from VS2008 I always get the error "Unable to attach to process.  Access is denied."

I can attach for managed code debugging no problem.  Also, if I configure the IIS worker process app pool to use the same account as the account I am running VS2008 under I can attach not problem and debug using the workflow debugger.

So my remaining problem is that I would like to be able to attach while running VS2008 as my normal user account and leave the w3wp.exe app pool running as the usual networkservice account so that my debugging represents how the w3wp.exe will act in production.  I'm on Vista SP1 64-bit with .Net 3.5 SP1 and VS2008 SP1.

Q: Is there a special privilege I can grant the worker process account so that I can debug while using a different user account?

I saw a very old post here http://blogs.msdn.com/sonalic/archive/2006/05/10/594703.aspx that hinted there is something special for 64-bit.  Does anyone know if there is something special about 64-bi

Access Denied error on custom workflow task list item

We have created a two level custom approval workflow on (an InfoPath) form library using SharePoint Designer (SPD) with first and second approver. The workflow works fine as long as the approver is in the Site Collection Administrators group. The approvers who are not in the admin group can get to the custom Task form for approve/reject, but they can only view the form. When they click on the “Edit Item” button of the task list item, they receive “Access Denied” error. We have given these approvers “Approve”, “Contribute” permissions on the Form library and even Full Control on the task form list (all items). Note: The users use their domain account and the error they are getting is: Access Denied, You are currently signed as DomainName\LoginName, Sign in as a different user.

We have read through several forums and have found people having the same issue. We tried all of the suggestions described in the following links - but no success so far.

SharePoint Designer Workflows, Tasks, and the Annoying “Access Denied” Error

Uploading a file over 1mb in InfoPath task form causes workflow to error

I have created a custom workflow which requires a file to be uploaded using an InfoPath task form. When i upload a file under 1mb the workflow completes and its status is shown as Completed. However; when a file over 1mb is uploaded, the task completes and the workflows status is shown as In Progress for roughly 1 minute, after which the status changes to Error Occured. The strange thing is the workflow has completed as the document is taken from the InfoPath task form and uploaded to a document library successfuly, as the workflow has been developed to do.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue and what is causing this to happen? The error logs show nothing and i have configured InfoPath forms services to allow documents up to 50mb in size.

Any help would be much appreciated

Browser based InfoPath Form - fully trusted gives Access denied Error for few users

We have a code-based (code behind) browser based Infopath form which is fully trusted, but it gives out an Access denied error for some users.

The InfoPath form is not digitally signed. Let us know if this has to be done and what is the process for the same for DEV, STAGING and PRODUCTION.

infopath form webpart/ anonymous access

I need the  anonymous users  to submit InfoPath List Forms via an InfoPath Form Web Part.

Currently when I go to a page with the InfoPath Form web part configured as an anonymous users I get the following error message:

Error loading the form

A form template (.xsn) file cannot be accessed. You may not have the required permissions to open the file

The list allows anonymous users permissions to add and view items

When logged in the form works fine.

I have setup the list settings for anonymous users to add items. but still the page with infopath form webpart is not opening.

Using Infopath form fieldnames in a workflow fails

I designed a form in Infopath and I published it on a SP2007 server to use in a workflow in a library. That goes fine. In the workflow I send an email message. I can use the fields from my Infopath form in the message that I create.
If the workfow is starts, Shrepoints sends me the message. But it does not use the fields from my InfoPtah form in the message in stead I see questionmarks.

Why doesn't it show the fields?

I alse saw (maybe this makes it clear) that when I let it dipslay the URL in the message, it show: http://1.portal.lucasonderwijs, but the actual site is whithout the "1" and it should also start with https://

Has anyone seen this before?

Thank you,

Nintex Workflow Error: No workflows are waiting for a BizTalk message [...] No processing has been d

I created a Workflow with Nintex Workflow 2007 (on SharePoint 2007) to send/receive data to BizTalk 2009. It worked fine already. But now I get the following error mesage in the EventViewer:

Nintex Workflow; Build: 11000 (http://ls457/_layouts/nintexworkflow/BiztalkHandler.ashx)
No workflows are waiting for a BizTalk message with message Id of 'GeneralAccessRequest_2010-08-23T15_00_04_44961212B370C554EDFAC41C1201ED6CEFB' on teamsite http://ls457/sites/testapp. No processing has been done.

What could that mean? Any ideas? I definitely changed nothing on the orchestration or BizTalk administration. The BizTalk action sends the data correctly to it's destination (database), but it seems that nintex doesn't receive any return data. I don't think it's a BizTalk problem, because in the BizTalk Message Tracking Database the Message is listet, so it has been sent correctly by BizTalk. But the handler probably has problems to find/receive this message.

Kind regards,

Updating Task Lists and Form Libraries From Workflow Form

There are actually two separate (I think) problems here. The scenario: I used the SharePoint Designer 2007 to create a workflow attached to a form library. When a form is submitted to the library, a To-Do-Item is created on a task list. The To-Do-Item is initially assigned to a GROUP. A user from the group then selects the name of an individual from a choice list in edit item. This person now becomes the Assigned To for the task.

What is needed is 1) To update the Assigned To column of the Form library when someone in the GROUP assigns the task to an INDIVIDUAL; and 2) To have the Due Date from the submitted InfoPath form propagate to the task list.

I've tried having one workflow try to do everything and also having a secondary workflow set up on the task list to do the task assignment update but have not been successful in solving either issue. I don’t think that I am really understanding how to Define Workflow Lookup when not working with the Current Item. I know what fields I want but I don’

InfoPath Workflow Task Form "Loading" event handler only being called after App Pool recycled.

I have a Workflow that is using an InfoPath task form.  In the "FormEvents_Loading" method event handler I have some code that needs to run each time the form is opened.   I recycle the App Pool and open the form the code runs perfectly, but if I close and try to re-open the form the code is not run at all.  I can then recycle the App Pool again and on the next load the code executes just fine.   The code that is supposed to be run is a very simple statement to set a field value, so I don't think it is interfering.

Does anyone know what this might be?

InfoPath form checked out so 'on create' workflow not being started

Hi all,

I have found a couple of threads asking for advice on how to check in an InfoPath form when it’s saved or submitted to a forms library. The reason for doing this is so a workflow can start based on a new item being created in that library, and so it doesn’t just sit there with a “Starting” status.

The answers I have found contradict each other:

·         You have to do it with a workflow.  This can be done easily with SharePoint Designer if that's an option for you. Source:

Error when opening Infopath Form

Background: Created an Infopath 2003 form with 2 views (1 as Read-Only View and another 1 for Submitting content) and published to a Sharepoint 2007 Library.

Working: When a user opens a new form it opens in submit view; once the form has been submitted, when the user tries to open again, the form opens in read-only view.

Error: 99% of the users do not face any issues, however when the the rest 1% of the users try to open a new form; they receive the following error and are unable to open the form.

Form template: _http://server/sites/subsite/library/forms/template.xsn
InfoPath cannot open the following view: Edit_View
The following view file is not valid: view1.xsl
The file is not a valid XML document.

An invalid character was found in text content.

Line 673, Position 12

I am not sure what is wrong here (or) from where this error is being generated!
