Creating a table-valued function on a user defined type in SQL Server CLR

We would like to be able to create a table-valued function on a user defined type.  We would like the syntax in SQL to look like it works for the XML nodes function:   DECLARE @myXml XML = '<a><b>1</b><b>2</b><b>3</b></a>' ; SELECT  node.query('text()') FROM    @myXml.nodes('a/b') nodes (node) ;   In other words, in the FROM clause, we can access the "nodes" method of the xml variable and it returns a rowset. Thanks!

Help creating HTML table from dataTable when every nth dataTable row = 1 html table row... C#

Hello, Im trying to create an html table from data that is in a dataTable but Im having trouble coming up with the right logic. Every 3 rows in the dataTable needs to be 1 row in the html table.  Ive tried using foreach through the datatable with a modulus to determin every third dataTable row but i still run into snags because i am building the table using objects rather than using concatenated strings..(example TableRow tr = new TableRow  etc...). I cant add the cells to the rows when the row is only created in an if statement etc. Can someone post a good example in c# of how they would achieve this. The amount of data in the dataTable could change from time to time so the code cant rely on a pre determined size, unless you just need the total rows and columns, that can be dtermined when the dataTable is filled from the sqlDataReader. <table><tr><td>dataTable row 1 values</td><td>ataTable row 2 values</td><td>dataTable row 3 values</td></tr> <tr><td>dataTable row 4 values</td><td>dataTable row 5 values</td><td>dataTable row 6 values</td></tr>   Any help and example would be great. Ive been able to do similar tables in other apps but thats only when I use concatenated text strings to build the html table. Im trying to stay away from that this time

Creating function in all databases using dynamic sql

We have to create a stored procedure which runs in SQL 2000. The swtored procedure has to take a database name as input paramaeter and then it has to create a scalar valued function in the input database. Following is the query i'm using but it's creatin in on the current database only not on the input database.

SET @SQL2='CREATE function dbo.fn_C (@string1 varchar(15))
 returns varchar(15)
  --Manipulation steps

    RETURN @string2

Even I tried to merge use db statement before create function, but it's throwing an error saying 'create function has to be the first parameter'

Please suggest how can I acheive the functionality by modifying the stored procedure.

Thanks in dvance.

creating xsd for datatable

Hi, i am trying to create an xsd for a datatable that will validate the data in input.

But i have problems on declaring an element required. I want to do something like this but with some elements Required.

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
<xs:schema id="NewDataSet" xmlns="" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:msdata="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-msdata">

Creating a front page news function with C#

Hi I was wondering how to create a front page news function with C# as the language.

Basically I want to be able to use a one of my forums in the category "Site Discussion" called "News" as a way to connect with the front page (homepage) of the site to display a few of the newest news articles each with a title, image, and a short blurb of what the post is about. Also I want them to have a link that connects to the news post in the forums.

***NOTE*** I am using YAF (Yet Another Forum) for my forums.

An example of this from another site is http://allisfighter.com/

As you can see in the above site in the "Today's Top Stories" section it shows 4 news posts (1 main, and 3 other top stories) and if you click on them it links to the news post (which is also accessible via the forums in the news section).

This is basically what I want to incorporate into my site, but using the YAF forums, note an admin console is also needed to do this, I have a serperate admin console that I will set-up for it basically that's when you write it and from there it displays on the front page and in the forums.

Alternatively I would be fine using a News Archive that does basically everything above, but ra

Creating a CLR function for SQL Server 2005

I'm new about CLR integration. I have on my machine SQL Server 2005 Dev. Edition and VSTO 2005. Inside VSTO I have tried to create a prj: I have selected the C# language, but I cannot see a voice for the SQL Server project template. The option CLR Integration for SQL Server is enabled.

Any helps for me, please? Thanks

Creating your SharePoint Governance Plan

One of the most common questions that I get from prospects as I'm talking to them about the creation of a governance plan and process is what does it look like. In other words, there are materials available which describe what should be in a governance plan but there isn't a ton of guidance on what the process of creating a governance plan and process are.

Creating Paging for a Repeater Control

A common question is "How do I implement paging within a Repeater?" Although the beauty of the Repeater control is its flexibility, you're on your own for building most functions. ASP.NET 2.0 has included some new controls that provide paging, as does the DataGrid in ASP.NET 1.1. However, this tip shows you how to roll your own paging for a simple data viewer.

Creating an AJAX Repeater in ASP.NET MVC

The "TaskList" is a tried an true example of the most basic thing that you can do in any framework. Unfortunately, I had some problems finding a really good example of all the steps necessary to get a task list to work in ASP.NET MVC 1.0.

Creating a Generic Entity Framework 4.0 Repository

With .NET 4.0 right around the corner, I thought it would be cool to download Visual Studio 2010 beta 2 and start playing around with the next release of Entity Framework.

The initial release of Entity Framework came with a great deal of criticism. To make matters worse, there was a large uproar when it was rumored that Microsoft would be abandoning LINQ to SQL, in favor of Entity Framework. This was because, at the time, many developers felt Entity Framework was an inferior technology to LINQ to SQL. To set things right, Microsoft proactively moved forward with improving Entity Framework, in time for the 4.0 release of the .NET Framework. This is good news because my initial impressions, so far, have been nothing but positive.

Creating Sites/Lists/List Items under Current User Context in SharePoint By Using SPUserToken

Usually we do this by performing the action under RunWithElevatedPrivileges method and updating the listitem using SPListItem.SystemUpdate() method (see here). but this approach has its own flaws like (RunWithElevatedPrivileges will run under system account, we cannot use SystemUpdate for SPSite,SPWeb,SPList, since it runs under system we will "CreatedBy" by as SystemAccount).
