MVVM - Multiple ViewModels of same type --> Singel instance of view

I have a ViewModel that contains a property WorkSpaces:

public ObservableCollection<ServiceViewModel> WorkSpaces{get; set;}

The WorkSpaces I bind to a ContentControl that contains as ItemTemplate a DataTemplate which contains a TabControl

<ContentControl Content="{

Merge Style? - Define Style at multiple levels.

This question is related to some multi select functionality I just added to the treeview.

The questions is if it is possible to define a style with a given TargetType at multiple levels?

I have derived TreeView and TreeViewItem, and defined a style for the TreeViewItem which I apply programmatically to the TreeView when the multi select option is enabled.

The style is defined in a separate file (resource.xaml), and what I do is I load the resource, find the style by key, then apply it to the treeview like this

MyTreeView.Resources[typeof(MyTreeViewItem)] = loaded style

Change the content type for multiple list items

I have a document library which is configured to manage content types.  Users will be expected to upload multiple documents into the library.  Then they will be expected to choose the content type of the file and fill in the required metadata.  The only difference in these content types is the template which will be used to create new files of the specific content type so the columns are identical for each content type.

I have created a public view with inline editing enabled but Content Type is not an editable field.

The problem I have is that when I enable Inline editing, the users don't have an opportunity to select the content type, even though the files have just been uploaded and have not been checked in.

My question is this; how can users change the content type of multiple items without having to go through the complete New Item form?

With literally thousaands of documents to be imported, having the users fill out a separate form for each document when many will have the same column values is a show stopper for our rollout.  It will take too much time.  The project will be a failure.

I've also tried to create a datagrid view but the same problem exists.  Content type is not an editable column value.

Thanks for helping.

Multiple Content Types in a single list - how to edit fields outside a content type

I have a single list and created two content types on the list in order to reduce the amount of visible fields a user sees when entering a form.  Once the form is filled out by one group with the limited data, an alert is sent to another team that adds to the list item using the larger set of fields defined by the second content type.  Unfortunately it seems that the edit burron remembers ihe initial content type that the entry was created with.  Is there another url to access the edit button for the same entry using the alternate content typr?

single sign on IIS 7 multiple application pool

We migrated our web server to window server 2008, IIS 7.

We have single sign on application - that we login through one application called "users" and then no need to login to other applications, they all use the same machine key and cookie.

it works fine when all then applications under the same application pool.

but we have one application that is asp.net 2005.  (the rest are asp.net 2003)

the user application is in asp.net 2003 and that  other application is in asp.net 2005.

so each application is in a different application pool. -

one pool to asp.net 1.1 and other pool to asp.net 2.

when I run the asp.net 2005 application

I get the login page and after I  login  I get the following errer:

HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested Url: /users/Unauthorised.aspx

Important: If I switch the "user" application (the login) to work under the same pool as my asp.net 2005 application, then it works fine with the asp.net 2005 application, but I get the above error for the asp.net 2003 applications

All this happened after we swi

can you upload multiple documents (to a doc library) and set content type and meta data at same time

can you do this?  it doesn't seem like the dialogs support this functionality.  As an alternative i tried doing it in a grid type view after the fact but i couldn't get the grid view to show the content type, even worse, the grid view would let me add meta data to content types that didn't even have that column as long as it was in the view!!

External Data Fields in a Word Template saved as a content type in a document library with multiple

I have created a Word Template for a Document Library that has an External Data Column in it of Client Name which also adds Client Address1, Client Address2, Client City, Client State, & Client Zip.  Now this works fine for a Document library with that template as the Template.dotx file.

I want to be able to make a bunch of Templates and have them all as Content Types in one Library.  When I do this I cannot get the External Data Quick Parts to work.

Anyone have any ideas?

Binding multiple combo boxes to the same list

If I bind multiple combo boxes to a list of combo box items, selecting an item in one box clears the list in the other. When I use a list that contains something other than combo box items the binding works as expected. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Here is an example of the behavior using VS 2010 premium and .Net 4.0

<Window x:Class="TestApp.MainWindow"

Need an MVC Guru !!! Best Practice to have multiple Strongly Type Models ...inside a single View ??

So far I've seen demos of MVC that have simple pages, one for login, one for register, one for listing a table ...

In order to understand better the transition for WebForms developers into MVC patterns, I would like to understand how can I put together multiple CONTROLS (like the one provided by the default MVC project that VS2010 creates for us ...and make it work.

OK so as an example, imagine we want to change the LogonUserControl.ascx to allow us to login (so to show UserName and Password textboxes and Logon button) from the Home Page.

1) We update the Control as follow:

2) We update the HomeController.cs file to handle the Logon Button Post event as follow:

We needed to move some code from AccountController to HomeController in order to get the control to work under the Index view. So ...with little luck it seems to work !!!

Now the problem happens when you navigate to the Register view, considering that now we are not any longer on the HomeController "domain" but we are under AccountController.

Register page shows perfectly and

Dataset with multiple relationships and combo boxes

I have 3 tables:

Table 1
tableOneID (PK)

Table 2
tableTwoID (PK)
tableOneID (FK)

Table 3
tableThreeID (PK)
tableTwoID (FK)

I want to be able to display the information in 3 combo boxes, filtered by the selection the 'upper' combo boxes. I have a dataset containing 3 datatables and have created relationships between the tables. It all works great for the first two combo boxes (cboTable_2's data is filtered correctly by selection in cboTable_1) but not for the next combo box - I want cboTable_3's data to be populated based on the selection in cboTable_2.

Code Snippet

OleDbDataAdapter da = new OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM Table_1", conn);

da.Fill(ds, "T

single sign on among multiple instances of classified starter kit

I am using classified starter kit for various purposes like for business listing, classified listing and event listing. These are 3 independent application with their membership information stored in their independent database.I have used this 3 listings in a portal .I need a single sign on now.

I tried to do with machinekey & cookie .This way user able to login but as there is no record in that database for that user.So even if he post  anything in that application it stores memberid field as zero. So in this case what should be done. i am stuck here since few weeks. please reply to me as soon as possible.

multiple content type in one library

I created a content type based on the Document content type.  Call this ContentType A.  I associated a custom document template with it.  Then I created another content type.  Since I wanted it to have the exact same columns as ContentType A, I based it on that, but gave it its own document template.  I  needed to make a change to ContentTypeA.  I then noticed that when I select the template (from the library New menu) for contentType B, that it opens the template from contenttype A.  Should I not have based contenttype B from contenttype A?  Or would it have been best to create it based on Document and just recreate all the same columns?
There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you're are trying to accomplish.

How do I require a multiple of a type of expression (e.g. 2 uppers, 2 lowers, etc.) for password com

I read the pinned post on this forum for password complexity and tried to adapt it to my needs but can't seem to force the requirement of no length, 2 upper, 2 lower, 2 specials, and 2 numbers in the regex:

Started with from the forum post:

And tried:

...but can't seem to get it to work.  As you can see, I've just duplicated the expression I'm trying to use to match the different categories twice to try and get the desired affect of enforcing a 2x match.  The pattern should match things like:

Multiple database support with Entity Framework

One of the features introduced in Entity Framework is being database independent. Which mean each database provider can support Entity Framework by implementing its provider.

This feature allows you build applications independent from the underplaying database provider. In this post I'm going to show how to build an application that support multiple databases using same conceptual model made by Entity Framework.

TreeSelector : playing with generics and type inference

create a generic way to define a selection starting from a tree of objects, the most simpler way as possible.

Let's start with the beginning...
Here is a very simple little interface defining a node of the tree, basically, a value and the references to the child nodes.
