Can't open site in Designer/ Can't open files in Designer

I'm having trouble in Designer 2007.  I can not open any sites files on sites on our prodution server.  I get "Couldn't open file ..........aspx".  On our development server I can't even open sites.  I get "Invalid folder name".  Can anyone please advise?  I have seen other posts about this behavior, but none of the solutions have worked for me.  I've uninstalled Expression Web, I don't have Front Page installed, and I ran a repair installation on Designer.  Still no luck.  Any ideas please?

Simplest way to open my script files?

Hi everybody, I usually save my scripts in the default place offered my SSMS (the location of that place is hard to find). However, if I open a script from a disk from different location, now when I need to open my saved scripts it looks in that folder and not in the folder where all my scripts are kept. How can I open the script from the right place if I don't remember where that folder is and I don't want to re-start SSMS? External Code Assemblies, Report Subscriptions, and configuration files

I've got a report that relies on a very small external assembly for data for one of its fields.  That assembly, in turn, relies on some values from System.Configuration for portions of its work. I have the configuration keys and values running fine in the web interface, set up in web.config, but when users set up subscriptions for the report it runs fine but doesn't retrieve the configuration values from web.config (as expected) nor does it retrieve them from rsreportserver.config, where I have tried them in the root of the config file as <add key=... /> entries and also by wrapping them inside an <appSettings /> node.  I have also tried them in an appropriately-name config file in the bin directory.  In all cases the report is fine except the field that relies on the external assembly, where I recieve an error indicating that there's missing information (the config vals are used in a String.Format() call): Value cannot be null. Parameter name: format at System.String.Format(IFormatProvider provider, String format, Object[] args) at ExternalDBFunctions.ExternalSelectors.GetNotificationStati(String NotificationID) mscorlib When I remove the config values from the web.config, the web interface shows exactly the same error. Where should these configuration values go?

Powerpoint ppsx files open as read only in sharepoint with not option to edit

With Powerpoint 20007 in sharepoint(MOSS 2007) the PPSX files are opening in read only mode with no option to edit to be found. 2nd issue is ppsx files do not open on any persons computer as a show.  Is it possible to change this? How do I change this so I can edit the slides? Current "bad" solution is to save to local drive than upload them over the location  on sharepoint. ReportBuilder 2.0: open server report via command line?

Hello,is it possible to launch ReportBuilder 2.0 and pass the server report to open via command line?Searching the forums I have found this blog-entry (Launching Report Builder from the command line), but I think it is for ReportBuilder 1.0, because SQL Server 2005 is mentioned. I have tried it anyway, but ReportBuilder 2.0 just starts with an empty report. If I specify a rdl-file from the local file system the report will open fine:MSReportBuilder.exe d:\temp\samplereport.rdlthanks in advance and best regards,Gerald

This was working fine from years, but has started giving this error from past 3 days. When I run manually this SSIS package it works fine without any errors. Nothing has been changed. Please help. Report Builder 3.0 issue - can view existing rdl files but cannot create new reports

I have Report Builder 3.0 deployed on my local machine pointing to a remote SQL Server 2008 R2 instance outside of my local domain.  Within this local Report Builder 3.0 instance I am able to open up previously created rdl files from the remote SQL Server 2008 R2 instance that I am connecting to.  However, if I try to create a new report on my local instance of Report Builder 3.0 and attempt to use the same data source as was used to create these existing rdl files, I receive the error: "Unable to connect to data source. The user credentials provided in the connection string do not have permission to connect to Reporting Services."  So why can I open existing rdl files from this remote SQL Server 2008 R2 instance, but not create new ones even though I'm using the same data source as the existing rdl files?  Thanks, Mark
