I am seeking recommendations for running Visual Web Developer 2010 on Windows 7 without local administrator access.
Is there a "how to" somewhere that delineates the issues, etc, that come along with
Is there some other access level, something higher than Power User but lower than Local Administrator, that can be used or created?
There seems to be a lot of places where glitches appear if one is trying to do development on a Windows 7 64 bit box with Visual Web Developer 2010 Express.
For example, without local administrator access, one cannot create a virtual directory in Windows 7 in IIS, which slows down testing, etc.
I am of the mind that developers should be allowed to run as Local Administrators, for expediency sake, etc.
What do you recommend to approach the situation if one must run at a user level lower than Local Administrator?
If you do not run as a Local Administrator when you develop at you corporate environment, then how do you workaround the matter?
If you do run as a Local Administrator when you develop at you corporate environment, then how did you get management to understand?
